On my Droid X2, I would like the standard email app(POP3 for Cox) to open in folder view, inbox, sent, deleted, etc and not default to opening to the contents of the inbox. Is this possible?
Also, I moved a message from my sent folder to the inbox and then decided to move it back. Inbox and Trash are the only locations available when I select the message and then select move.
I prefer using Handcent SMS, and get my notifications from it.However, I'm also still getting notifications from the standard SMS, even though I've de-selected notifications on it.Anyone know how to stop it?
View 5 Replies View RelatedSo you turn on the X2, you have the green tab that you move to the right to access your home screen. I also have a security lock pattern that I use to unlock access. Is there a way to eliminate the standard unlock feature, so that I don't have to go thru 2 unlock screens to get to the homescreen? On my original Droid, once I programmed the lock pattern in, the standard one went away; not so with this one.

Instead, they show up with a blank message body and an htm doc attachment that can only be opened by downloading it and going into the messaging folder to open. If you try to open through the email they just pull up the Google browser which does not read the file. Is there an alternative email program or web browser that will allow either the message to appear in the email body (like it does on iPhones I have tried) or a browser that can read an htm file?

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I got the Droid 2.2, last November, I read over the setup instructions and was able to personalize the greeting on the opening screen. Now that I have changed a few things in my life, I would like to revise the opening greeting. I'm talking about the greeting that is on the unlock screen when you power up the droid. I have read extensively the setup instructions, the forums and such and cannot find the option I used to set it up originally. I thought it was in "settings/display" but the only settings there now are Brightness, Autorotate Screen, Animation, Screen Timeout, Wallpaper Settings and Roaming Banner.
Did an update wipeout my ability to change this greeting?
My wife and I both have Droid X2 currently running Android 2.3.3. Since the update, we can no longer get back to "home" while on the media dock if we were to open an application while on the dock. The only way to get there again is to re-dock the phone. Pushing the home button doesn't work, neither does tapping the notification item that says connected to multimedia dock.

Its there about a minute after boot. I use Advanced Task Kill to stop it, a minute later or so and its back. I used Optimize Tool Box to view the startup apps and Music is not one of them. Keep in mind, this is not a background service but the app itself.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just upgraded to the Droid 3 a few days ago and I am so far pretty happy the only issue that I am having is that my car dock screen only pops up if the vehicle mount is connect to a charger and it is plugged into to the power. If I unplug it the regular home screen pops up. I am using a Motorola Droid 3 vehicle mount and a vehicle charger that came with my Droid to media package. It also happens with my daughter's Droid 3, so I don't know if the phones have an issue or the vehicle mount has an issue.

An example would be i would say my launch phrase ok google now navigate to 123 main street and it would respond back "OPENING GOOGLE navigating to 123 main street". How do i stop it from saying OPENING GOOGLE every time prior to it performing the task i ask it to do. The TALK BACK function is OFF on my phone and it still does it. Also how am i able to ask it to perform a function from ANY screen. That launch phrase only works on one screen.

When I open it to look at a photo and then close the app, re-opening the app brings me right back to the last photo I was looking at. On my Razr M if you closed the gallery and open it again you are back on the folders screen. Now with the turbo I have to hit back a few times to get where I want to be. The same goes with my emails and text messages. If I text someone and close, instead of getting the whole list when I re-open messaging it starts off on the last person I was talking to.

I have several folders of pictures with 100 -200 pictures on average and I am interest in how quickly the D4 can work with them. The incoming text appears in the notification field at the top of the home screen from the correct sender, but when we open the text, the sender contact has been randomly switched to another person in our contact list. This is happening quite frequently and is resulting in texts going to very random people. Occasionally when composing a text, the chosen recipient will randomly change when we press the send button.

I want to delete the original Gmail acct that the tech set up and use my regular gmail account without doing a factory reset to defaults.When I bought my Motorola Atrix at Costco in April 2011 the tech deleted all my phone contacts, data, and photos when trying to transfer to the Atrix. Then he set up a new required Gmail account for the Atrix and gave us the wrong password and security answer which I can not recover despite numerous tries with Google.I have another Gmail account with a good password and it is also on my Atrix. I can access both Gmail accounts on the Atrix because the unknown password is stored somewhere on teh phone. I cannot access my account settings to determine the correct password for the Gmail account I want to delete.What I'm really trying to do is somehow link my Atrix phone number to my regular Gmail and Motoblur acconts so I can use the Android Market from my PC and other functions. I cannot find anything on my regular Gmail account that allows me to link my Atrix phone with that account. It appears the phone is linked to the original Gmail acct the Costco tech set up and that I cannot acccess any settings on. The only settings (from both Gmail accts) I can access are the general ones that control notifications, rings, and messages.
My solution was to delete the account that I don't have a password for and then I would then a way to add my Atrix to my regular Gmail acct as the new Atrix acct or visa-versa. I will keep it screwed up if the only option is to reset to facotry defaults and lose everything. In a related question is there a way to transfer all my Atrix data to the micro SD card and then take it out and then reset?
After installing an app called WIFI Analyzer and seeing all the AP's in my neighborhood I wanted my home network in a less congested area of the spectrum. I changed my home network and now I can't see my AP? The only thing I can think of is that the Razr Maxx does not support 5GHz as I see from the product spec page that N networks are supported.

Some of these photos are of contact photos of people I don't want to look at all the time such as business associates. I would prefer to replace the photos of my choosing such as pictures of my family, friends , vacation etc.
Is there any way to re-select the photos that are displayed on the opening My Gallery screen?
When you hit the unlock icon on the phone, you can slide right for unlock, up for phone dialer, down for text and left for camera.I'd like to slide left to go to my mail app. Is there a way to change what app is on that side?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm on my second Motorola Standard Dock for the Droid. In each case the dock worked fine for a short time, then phone suddenly stopped going into "dock mode" when inserted. The connection is OK: Still charges the phone. Just no dock mode features, which is why I bought the dock in the first place. Tried every combination of seating while turned on/off, seating then turning on/off, powering and de-powering dock, etc. No dice. Phone docks fine and enters car dock mode with car cradle. Using provided charger(s) with dock(s). Have not tried full reset of phone due to hassle of reinstalling apps, etc., but powered up, removed battery, etc. Am I really so unlucky as to get two defective docks or is there a software issue here?

Although I prefer how deleting emails on my handset is not synced to my hotmail account (which is useful for emails I wish to later preserve on my laptop archive).
I am bemused as to why such a standardised function is missing (unless of course I have missed a trick). The time it takes to individually delete unnecessary emails completely from my handset is ridiculous, especially when attempting to empty the trash can (which I have never completely finished due time and patience).
