Motorola Droid X :: Flickr Account On 'Add Account'
Jul 13, 2011
while looking at my friend's droix x i noticed on his "add account" page he had an option for flickr and i do not. now we both have the exact same system version, kernel version, etc - all were the same but the prl was a different version. he also had a Internet account option that i also do not have - but i am not worried about that since i can log into Internet via the Internet app.
so how do i get the flickr on my 'add account' page? do you have it or not? i would really like to have it since there is no legit flickr app and i am not trying to download some random app for it.
i've been on moto forums for 3 years now and since the new format last winter i can't log in with my primary account.it won't even allow me to log in with google on it.really a PITA considering all my MOTO devices use this account.blur has me listed ona phone i retired 9 months ago.don't tell me to clear my cookies either, this is the first time i logged on to the forums on this one and it still let me log on.
I have a new Droid 4 and cannot get my hotmail working. I have added the account under "Accounts" and it said it was successfully added and is in the account list. However, I'm not getting any emails...not the old ones or new ones coming in. My gmail account is working just great. How can I get my hotmail to work?
Setting up my new Bionic today. I installed the Facebook app from the Market, and now when I go to accounts, and click Add, I see 2 facebook icons (one produces the annoying Motorola terms & conditions screen and I suspect is tied into Blur somehow), the other is clearly the Facebook account that goes with the Facebook app, but when I click that one, nothing happens. Can I add a facebook account without agreeing to Motorola's T&C (and possible getting bogged down in their social networking apps)?
every time a new email comes in, I receive a notification alert. Since the notification is useful for other critical functions (receiving alerts on a system down - I am a Network dude), I cannot disable notifications. I find it very annoying that I have to run over to my phone every time I receive an email, thinking it might be a system down notification. I cannot selectively disable notifications by account. On My Xoom tablet, when setting up accounts, I have the option to Sync the account automatically, or not. If automatic sync is off, I can check my email at my leaisure, while only receiving notifications for important events.
I've added one account and it was seamless, but can't seem to find an option that will allow me to add my other personal accounts under the one icon....
Well the last week or so I have noticed that my email account is not syncing with my Razr Maxx HD - It is an outlook account - it also does the same thing with my Yahoo account as well I tried looking in settings for sync frequency but there is not option to set - I know on previouse phones there has been option for it but not this one.. Other than deleting the account and re-doing it or restoring the phone, because those two dont work.
I am adding Email definitions for my Gmail accounts (in addition to the Google account definition for Contacts, etc.) because I want them to appear in the Messaging -> Universal Inbox. (I'm not fond of the Gmail app.)
Similarly, I am adding definitions for my Hotmail accounts because I read somewhere that Moto/Verizon will set them up as IMAP which I cannot achieve through a client like K9, else I would probably just be using it for my Universal Inbox.
Via My Accounts -> Add account -> Email Accounts... If I set up a Gmail or Hotmail account by selecting Other and then automatically or manually configuring, then mail is retrieved. However, if I select the appropriate icon for Gmail or Windows Live Hotmail, the only Email which ever appears in the 'Inbox' is from donotreply@vzw.net regarding the success of the operation - this message is not even sent into my actual Gmail/Hotmail Inbox as verified online.. NONE of the other messages from my Inbox ever appear.
So, why do I care how the account is set up? Mostly because the only easy way to distinguish between the message source in the Universal Inbox is the little icon designating the type of Email account. If they are all set up as Other, they all end up with the same icon.
This functionality worked just fine on my Droid 2. So, is it now broken on the Droid 4?
(As an aside, the Hotmail account is set up automatically as POP3. Was I misinformed that Motorola had a license to set up as IMAP through some licensing agreement with Microsoft?)
I did a factory reset on my phone about 3 weeks ago now. I was having other issues that the hard reset resolved. The only issue I have now is a new one - I cannot add my Yahoo! Mail account back onto my phone. I am able to log into it via the web on both my phone and PC. I can login using the Yahoo! Mail App (which i really don't like). But I cannot add it using the "Accounts" options built into the phone.People have said that maybe it's Yahoo! thinking the account was hacked... so I've changed my password twice. I've done battery pulls before trying to re-add the account. I've tried everything I can think of short of doing either another factory reset or having verizon provide me with another new phone (actually they are sending me certified-preowned after they took my brand new Droid Pro and I later found out that wasn't necessary and I've had more issues with this phone than my original)
I set up my corporate Exchange account using the Corporate Sync. It works fine when I am on 4G but when I switch to my Netgear 600 router at home I cannot sync with the Exchange account. Everything else works while on Wifi including my Gmail.
New member so forgive my mistakes. I have read the other threads on the above issue and they seem dated. I want to delete the original Gmail acct that the tech set up and use my regular gmail account without doing a factory reset to defaults. When I bought my Motorola Atrix at Costco in April 2011 the tech deleted all my phone contacts, data, and photos when trying to transfer to the Atrix. Then he set up a new required Gmail account for the Atrix and gave us the wrong password and security answer which I can not recover despite numerous tries with Google.I have another Gmail account with a good password and it is also on my Atrix. I can access both Gmail accounts on the Atrix because the unknown password is stored somewhere on teh phone. I cannot access my account settings to determine the correct password for the Gmail account I want to delete. What I'm really trying to do is somehow link my Atrix phone number to my regular Gmail and Motoblur acconts so I can use the Android Market from my PC and other functions. I cannot find anything on my regular Gmail account that allows me to link my Atrix phone with that account. It appears the phone is linked to the original Gmail acct the Costco tech set up and that I cannot acccess any settings on. The only settings (from both Gmail accts) I can access are the general ones that control notifications, rings, and messages.
My solution was to delete the account that I don't have a password for and then I would then a way to add my Atrix to my regular Gmail acct as the new Atrix acct or visa-versa. I will keep it screwed up if the only option is to reset to facotry defaults and lose everything. In a related question is there a way to transfer all my Atrix data to the micro SD card and then take it out and then reset?
The phone was set up by the salesperson, and when I email off of Contacts, it defaults to Gmail. I don't use Gmail, but can find no where to change the default email account. Was this done during the set-up of Gmail? Do I need to delete the account and set it up again.
When I got my phone and set it up at Verizon, they had to enter a gmail account to get the phone to work. I gave them a gmail account, but did not realize that my wife was using this account for her Droid phone, so now I have all of her contacts. How do I switch to another gmail account. When I try to delete this account, it says that I have to reset the phone to factory defaults and I don't want to lose Touchdown which I have already paid for.
I got the upgrade to 2.3.3 on Saturday morning.I am having one issue.I use the email imap client that is built into the operating system to access my work email.I have known a lot of users to have issues with that client, but so far I haven't had any problems. It is still working in 2.3.3 but now the account is not listed in the accounts page.I tried to add it again, but it says the account is already there.I also went into the email app and cleared the data.It did deleted all of the mail but still would not let me recreate the account. When I started the email app again, it downloaded all of my old messages. At this point I am unable to change any of the settings for the account.
I set up my Droid with my original gmail account, I'll call it gmail1. For various reasons I want to have 2 additional gmail accounts so I played around, created them in gmail, I'll call them gmail2 and 3. Cause I wasn't sure what I was doing I ended up with contact lists for each with slightly different info and they all got merged into my contact list on my Droid. So the net is I have a person with 2 addressess, another with 3 birthdays (all the same day, but merged from the 3 accounts. would like my Droid to only sync contacts with gmail1, but the contact list already contains the extra data. Is there a way to eliminate that extra data? I removed the contacts from gmail1 and 3 and synced them to the Droid, but all their stuff still exists in my Droid contact list.
Following the upgrade from 2.2.1 to 2.3.3 (Droid X), I can still send and receive e-mail using my corporate sync account, but my corporate sync account is no longer listed under "My Accounts". Consequently, I can't edit it, change the password, or even delete it. Any suggestions on how to get the corporate sync account back on the account list?
My corporate account (Exchange/Activesync server) hasn't synced since the update was installed Saturday, June 30th. It was syncing fine pre-ICS, however, post-ICS nothing. The screenshot reflects the message I receive when attempting to set up the account on the phone.
In troubleshooting, I have tried removing the account (only initially following the upgrade, account will not complete set up since) and adding it again.
Also, all other email accounts (gmail, earthlink, hotmail, yahoo) are connecting fine, only having problems with the Corporate account. Additionally, I need this to work more for the calendar sync than the email, especially since I separate my work/personal calendars via this account, Google, and personal version of Outlook.
so, yesterday afternoon, i factory reset my dx2. i suddenly started having issues while walking through setup. original ota gb, no hacks, no roots.i was able to successfully set up my google account, opt to skip verizon backup, & then it gives me a connectivity error w/ (3) options of "retry", "setup wifi", & "skip". the setup skips the screen to set up my various 3rd party accounts such as Internet, facebook, yahoo, picasa, etc. when attempting to setup my accounts via "settings" afterward, it only lists (6) of the typical 12-15 options.this just started yesterday for me & did not occur on the previous 5 factory resets performed over the last week.
the error screen presented during setup after electing to skip backup assistant states something about "connectivity is required to complete setup", giving me (3) options. "retry", "setup wifi", & "skip". "retry" & "setup wifi" are still unsuccessful. selecting "skip" bypasses the ability to set up accounts.additionally, once on the home profile, "system update" states that a "motorola service account is required", giving me the same options as during setup. "retry", "setup wifi", & "skip". and trying to "add accounts" via "settings" only displays (6) available types, half of which give intermittent crazy errors about "problems with my clock on this device." or "timed out" & "your account may not be successfully setup".
I have three email accounts; gmail, earthlink, and microsoft outlook (work email). Phone has icon for gmail and a "generic" email icon. Can I add a third so that I can simply touch the icon on the home screen to access the emails separately?
I did erased cache I did restarted....now I did factory reset and still its doing it. I tried to erase email account by clicking 'my accounts' but can't even open this..
What a stress.....I don't have any problem with gmail. Its just other email (msn. corporate email) that I have in addition to gmail... what it does exactly is,
1. I click 'messaging' from home screen.
2. it opens with white background not showing any icon for msn or corp-email.
3. as soon as it covers white background it just comes back to home screen.
First post, as I'm an Android developer, but just got my first phone with Motoblur. So far, I have to say that the Blur interface has been disappointing as a power user, relative to the stock interface (many things that the stock Android does well, Blur doesn't, imho). But, that's not why I'm here...I'm here because I've noticed, under the new Bionic, that the official Facebook for Android app doesn't allow me to use it to setup a sync account. In the accounts menu, if I click "Add an account," it displays the list of possible account types. Clicking on the FB for Android account type appears to do nothing. Also, for any other apps that didn't come stock with the phone, they also can't seem to setup new accounts. Twitter is the only exception for this behavior. The official Twitter for Android app does appear to bring up a next screen when you choose that type.
Is it that Twitter is implementing some API the rest are missing? All of the example sync adapters I can find have this behavior where nothing happens when you try to use their functionality of "Add an account." Why is selecting those account types a no-op instead of bringing up the usual credential input screen that normally follows selecting a type of account?
I have my email set to push/fetch every 15 minutes and it does nothing. I have to remember to refresh my email to get new mail. I tried changing the schedule to every 30 minutes, but it still doesn't work.
I have my work e-mail set up on my corporate sync account. Currently under E-mail settings, E-mail delivery, & folder sync, I would like my sent items to sync in the background as my inbox does. Every time I change it to automatically sync in the background, it reverts back to manual as soon as I leave my e-mail. Is there anyway to force this to sync in the background? Will this be corrected in the upcoming update?
Does anyone beside me get duplicate (sometimes over a hundred) emails on their Droid RAZR? I have two different gmail accounts syncing to my phone but only one of them has this issue.
Been trying to sign in for a few weeks, but I keep getting told my account has been upgraded to a MotoCast ID. That's very nice and all, but I never get any e-mail from Motorola, even though I'm told my validation will be sent to my e-mail address (listed as on file). I had to create a new MotoCast ID (with a different e-mail address) in order to post to ask this question and for help, as I've requested a password reset a few times and none of them go to my e-mail.My old ID was part of the Motorola Feedback Network and contains the IMEI of my phone, and everything I'd need; this makes me think I could even have been invited into the soak test for the Bionic, but not received any e-mails (I was in at least one previous soak test). Can someone let me know how I can get my old account restored? This is kind of a big deal to me, and (by my understanding) was also a source of frustration the last time Motorola changed the way accounts worked.
On Windows Phone, you can set it to automatically store your pics to your Hotmail account. Can you do that with the Turbo? (Or Droid OS). I'm thinking this is more of an OS related question, but I've been reading that the version of OS on the Turbo is almost stock so not quite sure how it works. When you store it to the cloud, is it the native version of the photo or does it use compression?
