Does anyone know how to either set up a local adhoc network connection or a Bluetooth conection between a RAZR and a DROIDX to facilitate file transfers between phones? I tried Bluettoth - the devices are paired but will not connect..
View 1 RepliesI have a Droid Razr MAXX. USB Debugging is off; MTP is the USB setting. I've turned my phone off then on again. However, my Macbook Pro (currently running Lion) does not register the phone as a USB device, and AFT asks me to connect my phone with a USB cable to get started.
View 7 Replies View RelatedUsing the stock File Manager app I can see audio files on my Maxx HD's internal storage and also on the SD card. I happen to be looking at ringtone files. If I tap on the filename to play the ringtone, Amazon Cloudplayer pops up and shows all the music files on my SD card. No ringtones can be found. If I back out of Amazon Cloudplayer and use the file manager to try finding and playing ANY audio file on EITHER my SD card or the internal storage I get sent to Amazon Cloudplayer. I then have to use the back button to get back to the file manager icon in the App drawer. Same thing happens if I try to play audio files on my SD card. Amazon Cloud Player pops up. I don't want to use Amazon Cloud Player to play an audio file in SD storage.
If I connect my phone to my PC and navigate to the ringtones on internal storage and click on them they play as per usual (Windows media player). If I use my PC to play audio files on the SD card they play as usual.Why does my phone default to Amazon Cloud Player when I tap on an audio file in File Manager? What is the stock audio file player on the Maxx HD? Why can't I browse to an audio file with the file manager and tap on it and have it play? How do I fix this?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI purchased the Moto Elite Sliver because my Plantronics Pro HD would drop its bluetooth every single time a call was answered or placed. I did a little research and found it may be related to a conflict with the 2.0 headset and 4.0 phone. Moto Sliver is BT 3.0 and was working great until this week. Now every single time a call is disconnected, the headset disconnects and reconnects. Reboots galore, problem still exists. Uninstall/reinstall Motospeak, problem still exists. Sometimes the bluetooth will not connect at all (reboot required). The Droid RAZR Maxx and the Elite Sliver are supposed to be state of the art MOTOROLA, I make a living with my phone and headset.

View 2 Replies View RelatedFor some reason my Droid Razr cannot receive an mp3 through MMS if it is over 54 seconds in length. Anything under 54 seconds comes through no problem.
some background. I am a paramedic and we are paged from a central dispatch. When this page goes out we have software that will record it and send it via MMS to our phones.as a secondary paging for some reason if it is over 54 seconds in length I will get the txt but not the file. This goes the same if it is emailed to me. It is not just my phone my co worker has a Droid Razr also and has same problem. other co workers with casio, LG and other phones get them with no problem so I have concluded it is Motorola that has put this in. Spent long times with Verizon and Motorola supports with no success (dont think they understand what I mean)
I took an mp3 and started cutting it back second by second until I was able to recieve it this is how I know 54 seconds is the magic length. also the file is only 500k so well under the size limit.
now to make things a bit more compicated. If I connect to the computer and d/l the file to my phone it will work. I can even txt said file back to myself and recieve it but if I txt it to my phone from computer again it will not let me have the file.
I bought Xperia Pro mini and was told i will be able to trasfer files via bluetooth to other devices. Unfortunately, my phone cannot be detected by other phone eventhough the bluetooth is on. Even if I pair it with other phone & devices..it aint working.

It comes up just about every time she does anythign with the phone. She called the provider and did troubleshoot it and they say nothing is wrong with the settings and network. Almost say that it isn't happenning. This has become quite annoying and I've seen it myself. I have same phone and no issues with mine at all .. we purchased at same time and did upgrades at same time as well

View 12 Replies View RelatedI received the 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) OTA update for my Droid Razr on Tuesday morning July 3, 2012. The install was uneventful. One feature of the previous operating system I use frequently is File Manager. I noticed that after the OTA update to ICS that the feature to "Move" does not work, or at least doesn't allow me to move files from Internal Storage to the SD Card. I searched the Forums and didn't find any discussions about File Manager not working the same in ICS as it did in Ginger Bread. I read the numerous marketing guides and preparation documents that were published on the Motorola Razr website and didn't read anything about File Manager changing. I downloaded the new Razr Operating Guide for ICS and found no discussion about File Manager being different.
I tried Motorola Live Chat and ended up getting referred to Level 2 Tech Support. I have powered the device off and on numerous times in the last 48 hours. I have also done a Power + Volume Down restart but the Move option is still not working. Specifically, I can select a file from a folder in Internal Phone Storage and select Move. I can press the Back arrow-key but as soon as I am back at the File Manager main screen (so I can select SD Card), the option to Move disappears. If I press SD Card (like I did before with Ginger Bread) the Move button does not reappear at the bottom of the page.
Does anyone know, with stock apps only, is it possible to save a data file to to the homescreen for quick reference? At minimum, I would like a shortcut to the sepecific data file. Example; I use a simple Microsoft word calendar template to do scheduling for the month. I email the file to myself and save it to the messaging folder. Everytime I need to check who is working, etc....I have to go through the "My Files" shortcut, messaging, then the file I need. Would like to just save the data file or a direct link to it on my homescreen very similar to (gulp) windows.

I changed my home network and now I can't see my AP? The only thing I can think of is that the Razr Maxx does not support 5GHz as I see from the product spec page that N networks are supported.

View 4 Replies View RelatedBefore I had the Vehicle Navigation Dock, when I turned on navigation and the radio was on, the turn by turn voice went through the car radio. If the radio was off, it played through the phone speaker. Now that I have the dock, if Bluetooth is active, the voice doesn't play at all. I have to turn Bluetooth off in the phone to hear the turn by turn. This isn't optimal because then I can't use the phone over bluetooth. Is there a setting to have the voice always go over the phone speaker?

View 6 Replies View RelatedSince installing a new Netgear 7550 modem/router from AT&T, I have been having trouble with the WiFi on my Verizon Razr. I can connect to the network and browse just fine for a while, but eventually the WiFi indicator changes from blue to grey and no apps will load data. This includes not being able to load webpages. I also notice that once the icon goes grey, only the upward pointing triangle within the WiFi indicator comes on. Of course restarting the phone or rebooting the router restores the connection for a time, but eventually it drops again. Once the icon turns grey I get the following from the settings menu:
Status
Connected
Signal strength
Excellent
Link speed
72Mbps
Secruity
WPA/WPA2 PSK
IP address
192.168.1.xxx (the last three numbers never seem to change)
I read on a forum that the Razr's transfer rates are such that there's no point in buying a SD card higher than a class 4. That the Razr is not able to tranfer data higher than a class 4. I find that hard to believe, given that the SD Association recommends class 10 for "Full HD video recording, HD still picture consecutive shooting"
Does anyone know if the Razr's able to utilize class 10 memory cards or if there is a lower spec that is the max it can utilize?
I was able to transfer a downloaded Audiobook to the RAZR. However, while it plays perfectly on my PC, it is completely garbled on my RAZR.

If you've been successful in connecting them, how have you made it happen? Any difficulties or tricks you used to get them to connect?
Since the upgrade to ICS, my Droid Razr won't connect with the factory installed bluetooth in my 2008 Nissan Sentra. It worked perfectly before the upgrade but now nothing. It pairs and when I call using the steering wheel controls it turns on the phone with the correct person and calls them. However, you can't hear the phone ringing in the speaker and if/when the person answers you can't hear them. I was excited to get the upgrade but my car bluetooth is more important to me. Everything else works great but the bluetooth is a major safety issue for me as I drive a great deal. Does anyone know how to fix this or is there a way to undo the upgrade?
