Nov 3, 2011When I receive a sms message sometimes, the original text comes through fine.However, a few minutes later I get small bits and pieces of the original message sent to me in about 10 separate text messages ( sometimes more ) from a California telephone number (I live in Mass.). When I call that number from my Bionic, it goes right ot my voice mail voice mail. When I call the number from a landline, it states that the call cannot be completed.

Jan 7, 2012After several months of going thru various LG, Nokia and Htc phones, I couldnt pull the trigger on who I was going to give my next 2 years to. And if any of you have been with Verizon for a while you guys know how we cherished that NE2 (new every 2 yrs and 100 dollars towards it)....lol. With Verizon pushing the Blackberry and tons of dumbphones (2009) I even considered changing carriers. So after months of media hype I decided to wait before the change. In Dec of 2009 I got a OG Droid. Awesome phone which my daughter uses now. In Dec 2010 I got a Droid X and in Dec 2011 I got a Moto Xoom wifi. I chose the Xoom this year instead of a phone because I honestly feel that the DX2 and the Bionic shouldve been 1 phone instead of 2 phones tryning to fill gaps till the Razor came out.....thats another story for another time......To sum it all up: The OG droid will always be one of the phones that changed the market! The first android phone that was released to Verizon's Captive Audience with only blackberrys and dumbphones to choose from.....

Feb 3, 2012My phone locked up/screen went black during a phonecall yesterday. It was at night. So, it was dark where I was. I tried to access the screen. It would produce a faint light, but would not let me access the screen, phone or any apps. I was talking on a bluetooth headset at the time. Normally at the end of a call, I could hang up the phone by pushing a button on my headset. That wouldn't work either. The only way I could hang up the phone was to pull the battery.
how to diagnose the problem or stop it from happening again? Or, is this just a BSOD (black screen of death where phone locks up and requires a battery pull) that happened while I was in a phone call?

Apr 12, 2012Wow that was weird. My Bionic just rebooted after I answered a call. The other party began to speak and bam it rebooted. I have never had that happen before. I am glad it was a call from one of my employees and not a client!

Mar 8, 2012I just found a problem with my Bionic today. I was trying to access my voicemail and had to hit the number 1 on the dial pad during a call to enter my mailbox number.
The number 1 would not do anything during the call. All other numbers worked. If I kept trying to press the number 1 the screen would go black for a second then return with the dial pad. A factory reset did not cure it.
I went to a local Verizon store and the person there told me that this is a known issue and it only happens when the volume is up full. He then said that I have to put the volume down to 1/2 in order for the number 1 to work properly during a call
I called Motorola when I returned home and was told that this is not a known issue - they never heard of it.
Researching on Google and this Forum I have found others that have had this same issue. I have not heard of any resolution yet.
Both Motorola and Verizon Phone Tech Support recommended replacing the phone. Verizon Tech Support was supposed to call me back in an hour after my call with them to see what I wanted to do but never did. I was supposed to keep trying the number 1 after they had me force stop and clear the dialer and virtual keyboard. The problem still exists.
I only have a matter of hours before my 14 days is up at Verizon at which point I will be given a refurbished phone. For some reason I could not log onto this forum today to post this. I just now got in.
Do any other owners of the Bionic experience this? I don't want to replace the phone if they all do it. It's down to the wire now!

The phone produces sounds when e-mails or text messages come in as well as for phone calls, and I want it too. Except at night. Is there a way to set the Bionic so that ONLY an incoming phone call produces a sound?I have an elderly mother and need to receive an emergency phone call. However, I don't need want the phone to wake me up any time an e-mail or text message arrives. Sleep mode allows calls to come in but there is no sound.

Sep 21, 2011In the past - namely when I owned the Droid X - while in a call, I was able to press the volume up and volume keys successfully to adjust the in-call volume while I held the phone to my ear. Albeit the screen was turned off, the volume adjustment responded properly. I find now with the Bionic that I cannot adjust the volume while the phone is against my ear and that I actually have to move the phone far enough away from my face in order for the screen to turn back on and allow for the volume to be adjusted.
This causes me to miss part of the conversation, Matt can this be adressed or is there a setting I am missing?

Sep 22, 2011The last several days I have begun to hear an intermittment buzzing noise when people that I am speaking with on a phone call on the Droid Bionic are talking. The noise does not appear to occur when I am speaking - only when the other party speaks and this has happened on several calls with several people from different phone numbers and it does not matter whether they call me or I call themI had thought that noise issues were relegated to the audio portion of Zumocast, etc. through headphones, etc. as reported via other discussions, but now this issue has come up. I have one day left to return my phone and this is one thing I can not deal with.

Dec 22, 2011Just earlier today my phone randomly rebooted (not all that uncommon unfortunately) but it ended up at a garbled screen as shown in the attached picture. A battery pull and reboot fixed the graphics glitch but I've also had one other graphics glitch when I was using my gps. The bottom 3/4 of an inch of the screen had a static image of the top portion of the screen. Other than "overlaying" that image it didn't affect the behavoir of the phone any, I could bring up the menu and select options in it but they were hidden behind the glitch. It did it again. This time it's just the bottom half of the screen and the phone "works" but is extremely laggy.

I have been using Zumocast, but that's only a one way deal. You can stream and download files from PC onto the Bionic, but not vice versa.Also, I tried to download a 1.4 gig mp4 file but it doesn't fully download, and makes my notification area on my Bionic force close and the whole phone just wigs out and requires a reboot. So Zumocast needs to do some updates in order to support large file transfer.
Anyway, I am looking for a way to transfer files from my phone to my computer(s) wirelessly. I don't always have my USB cable around.

Nov 17, 2011Im having the same issue as a lot of other people (so i read). Mine has progressively gotten worse. My data connection shows active (sometimes it doesnt) but I cannot transfer data. After multiple restarts/battery pulls, i have data connection but NO app will transfer data except the web browser and dolphin. Even Gmail will not sync. So i can surf the web, but cant check my gmail app, pageonce, etc, etc. Wifi/bluetooth work fine. MOST of the time I can still text / make calls but not always.
I am hesitant to do a factory reset as the last time i did this, it did not change the problem and i was stuck with nothing because i had no data connection to connect to my google account with (nor wifi, i was on vacation).

Nov 6, 2011Gmail is my email. I long ago disabled the "conversation" (threaded) view of messages in Gmail iitself on the web, and in settings on any device. However, I can't find a way to do this on the Bionic. There's no option in accounts > Gmail. I HATE having the emails strung together like they were text messages. One of the major issues is losing attachments (ex: photos) in earlier emails once additional ones have been added to the "thread."
