I am trying to get MotoPrint to work with my Droid Bionic. My printer (a Canon wireless printer) is not a compatible printer with the service so I downloaded the host software on my PC to be able to print with it. I try to set up the print with my phone, it finds my PC, and then it proceeds to ask me for a username and password, saying that this is most likely what I use to login to windows. I dont use a username and password to log in to windows. I dont know what it wants from me; I tried leaving the username and password blank and it says login invalid. I was hoping someone could help me with what username and password it wants because I dont know what to put in there to connect to the PC. It has the right PC name (MY NAME-PC) but I cant get "logged in".
How can MOTOPRINT print from a non-PostScript printer such as my HP 4600 PCL 5 [URL]. MOTOPRINT can indeed find it and show it on my Moto Bionic screen (thanks to the use of MOTOPRINT Host installed in my PC), but when I attempt to print any file or document (word, jpg, etc.) it reads: "This printer is incompatible with the currently selected document type." I've read enough to suspect that it may be that my printer is not PostScript. If that's the case, am I doomed to not be able to use MOTOPRINT to print from my beloved Bionic? or is there another App which can do the task? My printer is part of my home network inasmuch as it is connected, via its "parallel connection-turned-USB," to the back of my PC.
After updating to ICS, I can't access Motoprint. It is in my list of all apps, and that is the only place it appears. I hard rebooted phone without success, and also installed updates, and reinstalled them, hard rebooted again, all without success. Do I need to start from scratch and do a factory reset?
I am able to print photos from my phone wirelessly via my network (Dell Laptop w/VISTA & H/P Officejet 7400 All-in-One, Microsoft Small Business) but when I tried to print a spreedsheet, as a test of Motoprint capabilities, it shows the printer grayed out and says "This printer is incompatible with the currently selected document type". Funny that I use the same printer on a somewhat daily basis to print anything I want to print from my laptop.
I set up motoprint so it prints to a HP Laserjet shared by a computer called "Outcast" on my home network. I installed Motoprint on "Enterprise", my main computer that I use which also prints to the Laserjet over the home wifi. I also have Motoprint set up on my RAZR. The RAZR sees the printer in Manage Printers and says that it is online. I print to it without error, but nothing prints. The Print Queue shows the document as "job sent to server" and there appears no way to clear it. When I look on Enterprise's printer status it doesnt' show anything in the print queue. I'm running Windows 7 64 bit.
My only "complaint" is that whenever a call comes in or when I make a call, it always has it on the phonespeaker and not over the car dock audio connected to the radio. I have to press the speaker button to turn it off each time.way to have it default to the speaker being off?
Does anyone know of any surefire way to transfer files to and from the Bionic to a windows 7 PC?
I have been using Zumocast, but that's only a one way deal. You can stream and download files from PC onto the Bionic, but not vice versa. Also, I tried to download a 1.4 gig mp4 file but it doesn't fully download, and makes my notification area on my Bionic force close and the whole phone just wigs out and requires a reboot. So Zumocast needs to do some updates in order to support large file transfer.
Anyway, I am looking for a way to transfer files from my phone to my computer(s) wirelessly. I don't always have my USB cable around.
Im having the same issue as a lot of other people (so i read). Mine has progressively gotten worse. My data connection shows active (sometimes it doesnt) but I cannot transfer data. After multiple restarts/battery pulls, i have data connection but NO app will transfer data except the web browser and dolphin. Even Gmail will not sync. So i can surf the web, but cant check my gmail app, pageonce, etc, etc. Wifi/bluetooth work fine. MOST of the time I can still text / make calls but not always.
I am hesitant to do a factory reset as the last time i did this, it did not change the problem and i was stuck with nothing because i had no data connection to connect to my google account with (nor wifi, i was on vacation).
I can get a 4G signal rarely in home. At work and mobile I am usually 4G.I expect to be on 4G for a few years (5G anytime soon?) and was thinking of spending $$$ on a Wilson repeater to pick up 4G with a directional antenna and amplifier for home: url...I am a licensed Amateur Radio operator and the principals involved seemed sound to me.Also, does anyone know how to put the Bionic into Field Test Mode?
Has anyone had a lot of luck with Zumocast on the Bionic playing differenct CODECS? I seems to work awesome but has some CODEC limitations, is there any way to use another video player other then the default Android one (which it appears to be utilizing)?
Any one have any luck getting the FIOS Remote app working on their Bionic? I got it downloaded and followed all the directions but it wouldn't sync up. Home net is a std Verizon issued router (only thing custom is the net name, channel, and crypto key) and the Bionic is able to get on the wifi no problem.
Gmail is my email. I long ago disabled the "conversation" (threaded) view of messages in Gmail iitself on the web, and in settings on any device. However, I can't find a way to do this on the Bionic. There's no option in accounts > Gmail. I HATE having the emails strung together like they were text messages. One of the major issues is losing attachments (ex: photos) in earlier emails once additional ones have been added to the "thread."
Have experienced this with a couple of applications (Freecaddie Pro and My Tracks) the program is suppose to store to SD card and it saves to internal memory. Spoke to the developer of Freecaddie and he checked and it is suppose to save courses to SD but Bionic saves to Internal Memory. With My Tracks even when I pick "Save to SD card" is saves it to Internal Memory. What is up with that and is there a way to correct it?I know my SD card is working because I have moved pics and music to it without a problem.
I had noticed this problem before with the USB not working with non Motorola cables (INCLUDING ones purchased from VZW before the release of the bionic)5. Issue: USB Cables:The XT875 can only be used with Motorola USB cables.Action: No work around required.Resolution: No resolution required, working as designed and approved by Verizon Wireless.
Motorola support pages for Atrix 2 reference MotoPrint as an option for printing from the phone, but the phone won't download the file [URL] from the web ("Cannot download. The content is not supported on this phone.") nor will the Android Store even display Motoprint if searching from my Atrix 2. I navigated to the MotoPrint app page directly and tried to install from there, and got the error message: "Your device isn't compatible with this item."
When I go to "My Accounts" on my Droid Bionic, and then click on "Add account", I get the error message "Sorry! The application My Accounts (process com.motorola.setup) has stopped unexpectedly."
I wiped out my Bionic and then re-set everything up, and it was working fine until I added my FB account, and then removed the account. Now I can't add any new accounts at all.
I have a XOOM FE and am using Motoprint Host Service in an attempt to print to my Brother MFC-490CW. I'm running Vista 64bit on my PC, and the Host Service is running. However, Motoprint on my Xoom FE can't see my PC host. Is there something I need to configure on my PC? My PC is connected to my wireless router via wi-fi and my printer is USB cabled to the PC. As FYI, I can see my PC's shared folders from my laptop and can also see my Brother printer via the "Find Printer" function in Motoprint (but of course can't connect to it directly as it's not compatible with Motoprint). I can also print to the Brother printer via Brother's Android wi-fi app, but Motoprint can print more document types, so I'd really like to get it to work.
I used Google's https: market.android.com to transfer all my apps from my Droid 1 to my Bionic. By and large it was seemless and quick. However, less than half of my Gallery pictures made it over. Because the Gallery is a stock app and not in the marketplace it is not on the the above market transfer desktop application.I also have astro and estrong on my device.
After connecting to the guest WiFi at work, I try to login to the network and a padlock comes up on the screen where I would normally enter my login credentials. I can connect to this network with other phones and my tablet. My Droid turbo is the only device
I've Just completed the Official ICS Upgrade on my MZ616 Asia/Pacific model (purchased in Singapore). It Appears that Motoprint is broken after the upgrade? Attempting to print - results in an error "Unfortunately Motoprint has stopped" the only options given are to "Report" or "OK" the error message. Motoprint is up to date (Version 5.0.0.26) - and no updates appear to be available on Play Store. Accessing Motoprint through the settings menu gives the same error.
My Yahoo mail stopped updating this last week, so I removed the managed account and attempted to re-add it, but it will not log into the Yahoo mail account.
I have to log in twice to get the this forum when clicking on a link in my email to a posted question.Once at main Motorola page then at forums page. (both share same login name & password.)Many times clicking on the link in email (mostly long ones) I go to an error page and end up digging up the post myself. Many times when I post a comment, the wait time between clicking to submit the post and the time it posts and releases the page is quite long.I use either stock browser or Chrome 3g or wifi all combos have the issues.I am wondering where I can find high usage times on the forum [ EST ] to see if some of this is due to my being on during high usage times.
I just did another factory reset after the latest update. What do ya know, I'm now having a problem adding my Verizon email account. I tried to add it and after I enter the email and password I'm get a login failed notice. I've tried it a bunch of times and I cant get it to add.
It looks like when I logged on using my motocast id, I lost all of my old settings and statistics. I had to resign up for everything including giving my meid number again. I lost my 5 posts, 69 comments and 2way pager stats. Did I do something wrong when I logged on using the motocast id and password or did everyone lose their old stats after the new logon id?
I go to apps > options > search and boom - "The application Homescreen (processcom.motorola.home) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again." [Force close]I have confirmed other users are experiencing this.
I'm not looking for an answer (although if someone has one I'm more than happy to hear it), I'm mostly just putting this here so someone at Moto can read it. I went to use my bluetooth headset and got nothing (a problem I reported earlier), so I rebooted the phone. That fixed the sound, but I noticed I had no network. I saw a post that said it would come back if I toggled airplane mode. It put the phone in airplane mode just fine, but when I asked it to turn off airplane mode, it immediately rebooted.
I know the update is supposed to be rolling out today, and according to vzw you're supposed to be able to do a manual update but every time i check it says i'm up to date and no update is available. so what is the official status is it live or not? or are you only able to do manual if you have an unlocked phone.
There have been multiple reports of people getting stuck after applying the 5.5.901 update. the original fxz file that most use to restore doesnt help after the update. Is there a way we can get the fxz that will fix those who are bricked from the .901 update?
Last night and today, a new icon has appeared on the right side of the notification bar between the battery icon and the time. It looks like a black clipboard with a grey checkmark inside it. Never seen it before and dunno what's it's for?
My phone was having restarting issues before the ICS update, it was happening every other day or so but when the ICS update came through it appeared that my phone was fine.
In the last week and a half or so all of a sudden it would start suddenly resetting, 4 times in the middle of calls that I can remember definitely and 3 or 4 times while it was sitting on the counter charging (once multiple times in a row). It doesn't seem to be tied to any specific action and I was wondering if there is any kind of diagnosis or app that I can run to try to figure out of it's a memory/freezing problem?
