here do you find the build date in the D3?I was sure i saw it in the settings menu however i checked there the other day and not there so i cannot remeber if i did see it there or not does anyone know of a way to gete this information

Making that aside, i must say i found it odd that, when using the SE Pc companion software to update my android build from 2.3.3 to 2.3.4 the Supportzone says my mobile is already up to date, when it is clearly showing an outdated build and kernel ( 4.0.A.2.377) how can i get my mobile to be up to date?P.S from time to time i notice the flicker when the light sensor senses a decrease on light, but its barely noticeable.

With all the digital media in my life, I have automated a lot of processes to organize and make things consistent, so when I find something that makes the job harder, I really loathe it.
Over the past few weeks the date on my phone has reverted several times back to June 28, 2008.
When this occurred, the phone also failed to use or keep network time. I thought it might be the battery, but it shows a strong charge. This is the kind of symptom I would associate with a cmos battery failure in a pc.
Does the X have a cmos battery like a PC?
I almost missed an important appointment as my phone thought it was still years away!
I am trying to troubleshoot and I don't remember what the last few apps are that I installed. Is there any way to show the date and time that an app was installed? It seems that they can only be sorted by size or alphabetically. If not, are there any apps that do this? Is it even possible with android?
View 12 Replies View RelatedI needed to show the date stamp on some pics I shot on my RMHD running JB. I know the date info is included in the EXIF metadata I was surprised that I could not find a way to enable this to show this on the actual pic. I checked the Play Store and found nothing.
Since I had already downloaded my pics onto my Win 7 laptop, I figured some Win app would allow the date to be displayed on the pics. Wrong! Finally after googling, I found a Win app that would add the date stamp to my pics.
Presuming this feature does not currently exist on JB or the Gallery app, I think having the ability to optionally add the date stamp to pics would be useful. The option needs to be user selectable so that pics can be shown without the date stamp or with the date stamp.
I have attached a pic without the date stamp and with the date stamp (using the Win 7 app to overlay the date).
I had a annual repeat calendar entry that was set for the wrong date. When i went to edit, i could edit for that day but not the series......couldnt edit the date?why does the calendar icon show 31 instead of the actual days date?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI can't find some pictures or a video that I took on my DROID3. I'm not sure if I had them stored on the SD card or internal storage. There is one picture contained in the internal memeory that I took when I first got the phone and before I put the SD card in it. The SD card is from my old Blackberry. It takes and stores new pictures just fine. The pictures and video are from about 2 weeks ago. I did find a thumbnail that looks like it might be from the video and I set one of the pictures aas my wallpaper. It displays fine as a wallpaper but for some reason it can't find that actual picture.
View 3 Replies View RelatedSince the update I keep getting this notice that pops up saying my location can't be found. This is happening on a variety of apps from texting (GO) to just playing games. I have searched thru every app and nothing seems to be location based. My GPS is off and I don't use any social media apps needing location and location is also turned off on my camera. Any ideas on how to get rid of this?
Otherwise the update has made my phone a bit faster, the camera focus now works great but I am still dropping a data connection tho not constantly. My connection is alot stronger and I can at least pull 3 blue bars of 3G. I am not really happy that I am still dropping a connection. I can drop to zero bars while sitting in the same spot. It comes back faster but my phone had degraded to not being able to get back the connection for at least 5 minutes (airplane mode, shutting phone off, pulling battery).

On my Bionic I couldn't find a way to switch between accounts so I made separate icons for each but it turns out that when I set the sound on one it changes both.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a few apps on my phone that can't locate the sd card. The most important of these (to me) are apps that are designed to read or import csv files and create little databases from the data.
All of them look for files on the sd card automatically and report that none are present (of course, I know they are because I put them there). One of them offers the option of searching for the files manually. When I do, instead of displaying the contents of my sd card, it displays the contents of my internal storage. I suspect that's where the apps that search automatically are looking as well.
I tried dismounting/remounting the sd card. Didn't work.
Yesterday I spoke to a second tier Motorola support agent. He tried various things by taking charge of my phone remotely, then did a factory reset. No joy. He said that in his opinion, the apps (all four of them) are at fault.
One of those apps worked perfectly under Gingerbread. I downloaded the other three when it stopped working after the ICS upgrade.
I had a similar problem with an mp3 player when it tried to automatically find the mp3 folder on my sd card. Did the same thing: examined the internal storage instead, even though I chose the option to search the external card. Fortunately, that app also had an option to search manually, and that function saw the sd card.
These data apps are very important to me. One developer said he's working on an Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade. The other developers haven't replied, though their sites claim that their products are compatible with Android 4.
Is this an operating system problem? A device problem? Is there a way to "tell" apps the path to your sd card? The names of the apps: Panacea Database, Sailforms, Memento, Collector.
If anyone else using a Razr Maxx running Ice Cream has found an app that can successfully import a csv file or read an mdb file (Microsoft Access) on the sd card
I plugged it in to the computer tonight to see what exactly was in the double folders that I can see in the gallery. My computer can't even find the device. Went to Moto's site and downloaded drivers and installed them. Nope. Cannot find device. Ok. Son plugged his phone in - nope no device found. My computer runs XP. His computer runs Win 7 and he also has a Maxx with JB update on it that he got the same time I did. His opens Motocast and that is it. No drive letters. So on a whim, we took both phones to my granddaughter's computer running XP also and hers found all the drives on both phones. Is there a setting I am missing? We didn't change anything when we went to her computer..just plugged it is and it found the device and opened all the drives.

I have both a gmail account and a cox.net account, I receive emails on both accounts and would like to keep it this way. I'm afraid to delete the above mentioned widget if it could affect my emails.

View 11 Replies View RelatedThis used to work on my Droid and Droid 2. I receive an HTML email, which appears as 3 attachments, 2 text and one HTML. If I click on either of the TXT attachments I'm offered the choice of HTML Viewer or QuickOffice to view them. However when I click on the HTML attachment (the actual mail body) it goes straight to the browser, which tries to opencontent://com.motorola.blur.service.email.engine.EmailProvider/bodyparts/file/3/329_5.attand drops me into a google search browser window "did not match any documents". IOW it cannot find that file/location.
It's as if the email tool is creating an address (storage location) for the attachment that the browser doesn't recognize; or that it is creating one but passing a different handle to the HTML reader. Over a variety of emails the pattern is .../file/x/yyy_5.att.sing "Files" I can't find anything that looks like these attachment files, apparently it is below user visibility. can save the attachment into Messages then view it with the HTML Viewer; but I don't want to do that a dozen times a day.
