View 15 RepliesThis seems to be a common occurrence, but I haven't been able to predict it yet. Sometimes, when I unplug my DX2 from the charger, the battery indicator continues to flash the little charging "lightning" symbol as if it is continuing to charge.
When I go to Setting-->Battery & data manager-->Battery usage it will show 98% for "Display" and nothing else listed. Also, even if the phone has been unplugged for an hour, if the charging indicator is still showing in the notification bar, the battery usage will show that it has been unplugged for 0 seconds.
I wonder if this impacts what level of charge the phone is saying it's at. In other words, if it says it has a 50% charge, is that about right or could it be 70% or 30%?
So I was on a road trip today and when I plugged in the phone in the car dock I had full battery. Then I turned on navigation and slacker radio. About an hour travel the battery started to charge according to the battery icon. My question is, why did the battery discharge while on external power? Does the factory charger not have enough capacity to charge the phone while being used? If so something is wrong with the whole designe of the charging system.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI've searched through the forums and have not found this, so please forgive me if it has been asked before and I just overlooked it.This morning my phone has a status indicator I have not yet seen before.it's like a diamond with a circle bullseye circle target in the middle, and the circles are blinking.
View 8 Replies View RelatedThe feature i miss the most from my droid 2 days is the little indicator light to know that the phone is charging... I realize that light was left off this phone and moved to the caps lock key. But wondering if there was a way of turning in the indicator light when the phone is charging like when i get a notification that i have a text message. My Wifes incredible 2 indiciator light turns red when it is charging and i beleive turns white when it is finished. Its just a lot easier for me to look at my phone and see it is charging vs having to unlock my phone to see if it is charging or see it on the lock screen. Sometimes my charges becomes unplugged and i was always quick to know with the droid 2 that it had happend. vs waking up the next morning with my droid 4 thinking it was charging and nothing all along. Is there a feature i'm missing or is it possible to have this in an upcoming update?

Today while I was charging my phone I had something interesting happen my battery started discharging. While the phone was on the charger it became very hot. I Took the phone to the phone to the sprint store store where they ordered a new one as they could not figure out the problem. Once I got back home the phone started charging normally.
View 5 Replies View RelatedBy changing the Singal strength indicator from stock android: When connected to Google services: Bright green for signal, grey for not to When connected to Google services:
Somewhat brighter blue for signal, Somehwat darker blue for no signal
it is impossible to tell if I have a zero bar signal or full bar signal (all in between are kind of visible)....
Ironically the indicator for not connected to Google services is very easy to read - but in most cases only lasts a few seconds...
Suggestion for the next patch: Turn up the level of blue for signal and go to grey for no signal to make the indicator visible.
When I'm using my charger to charge my phone (as opposed to plugging it in charged), the charger gets really hot (~160 degrees fahrenheit), it makes a quiet hissing noise, and if I smell the USB ports, I can smell "the short-circuit smell" faintly. I'm wondering if this is normal, as the charger has been doing this since I bought my phone. (It's the charger they provided to me with the phone).

Will it work with the extended battery? Does this have a cable on the door that uses the usb port for charging as I've seen some of the add-on solutions?
Bought the phone on the day the phone was released. Everything was perfect until today. Endless reboot. The signal indicator is crossed out (red crossed out circle). Makes me think the radio is somehow fried. Tried factory reset.. Same thing. Endless reboot.

View 4 Replies View RelatedThe back replaces the (extended) battery cover and it a bit thicker and heavier but not bad at all. It fits well on the phone, no issues and the back of the phone remains flat (no uneven raised portions on the cover). The cover connects to the four charing pins on the back of the phone (under the cover) so you don't need any cables that use the usb port as on some of the third party wireless phone chargers.Setup was as simple as changing the back of the phone, powering the charging pad and laying the phone on the pad. I didn't time how long it too to charge but when my phone was down 50% it didn't seem longer than the usb charger. There is an indicator on the pad that lets you know when the phone is not charging (off or not properly placed on the pad), charging or fully charged and an audible that sounds when you place the phone correctly on the pad.
You can feel when the phone is correctly placed as if there's a magnet in the pad and phone back. The bottom of the phone overhands the pad by about 1/2 inch. I was planning to get a picture frame type holder to prop up the pad so the phone can be easily viewed on my desk. With the phone being longer than the pad, it might not work as well as I wanted but I can probably still do it in landscape mode.
Is there any way to have the Droid turbo make a beep when you plug in a charger or sitting on top of the Qi charger like the old Samsung note 2 did? Reason I ask is because I would like to know when it's actually charger without having to look at the device. I have a tytl qi charger and it lights up but I picked up a powerbot for work and would like it to beep when it starts to charge or when it gets interrupted.

View 8 Replies View RelatedIs there any information on the max current draw for charging the Droid Razr? Both wall chargers I have output 750ma but I believe my car charger only puts out 700ma. Will charging the phone on a charger with too low current output damage the phone? Will it damage the charger? Or is the phone smart enough to throttle the current usage to what's available? I'm assuming the latter is the case since I can't find any warning on charging current. Will a higher output charger (say 1A or 2A) charge the phone faster? Will it affect the longevity of the battery (slow vs fast charge)?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've ordered two Bionics - they havent arrived yet, but I've read two reports online that only the Moto wall charger works effectively for charging the phone. One person in particular couldn't get the phone past 40% charge without switching to the Moto charger.
This makes me think the myriad micro-USB cables and chargers I have at home, in my car, and at work (where I usually charge via USB) aren't going to work w/my Bionic, including a charging station/organizer I have conveniently located in my kitchen.
In the user guide for the Droid RAZR dock (part # 89525N ), there is a split audio/charger usb cable. This cable also shows in several catalog photos for the car dock.I purchased the car dock from a Verizon (official) store, but only got a straight audio cable. what the part number for this cable is, and (b) where can I order it?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI want the display to stay on while connected to my 12VDC charger while in the car. I don't have an official Moto car dock. I have tried using Smart Actions but the only options seem to be changing the screen timeout option to a maximum of staying on for 10 minutes. I've tired many variations using Tasker and still no joy.
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy original Droid had an option to make the display remain on (and phone unlocked) when connected to the charger - a real convenience when using the phone on the car. I cannot find this choice on the Droid 3 nor could Verizon tech support.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy car dock charger stopped charging my RAZR but works on my wife's HTC but my older Moto vehicle charger still works. It also seems as if it takes a very long time to chage the battery even on my original RAZR home charger.

Whenever I do a battery pull my battery indication after reinsertion reads 0% and shows the battery as red. My battery indicator before the battery pull will read anywhere from 80% to 50% but after the battery pull the indicator changes to read zero and is shown in red. If I don't charge the phone it will die even though prior to the battery pull the charge was fine at 80% or so...
I'm pulling the battery because of memory shortages. I HAVE replaced the battery and I still get the same problem. Pulling the battery after this happens changes nothing. I've pulled the battery numerous times afterwards and I never get the battery indicator to read what it did before the battery pull. I don't dare pull the battery if I'm not near my charger as the phone will die in a matter of minutes...

My question is, is this information about what WAS running or information on what IS running. or both.
