I have had my phone for a few months now and continuously have issues with it powering itself down. It happens when i place a call, when I open an app, while I am in the middle of a phone call, placing a text message, taking a picture, etc. There are also times when the phone will not let me power it back on unless I remove the battery.

View 15 Replies View RelatedMy Droid X is a replacement due to issues with my first on. This replacement came with 2.3.3 already installed. I POWER OFF my phone each night so that I dont get email notifications, phone calls or any other annoying thing to wake me up. HOWEVER, sometime during the night, the Droid X will decide to power on and I start getting email notifications that wakes up everyone in the house. I posted this same issue on the Droid X Forum and have gotten no answers that work. Taking the battery out doesnt correct the issue. My original phone didnt do this but it didnt have 2.3.3 -

After I push the power down button, it vibrates as though it is powering down, goes dark, and within 30 seconds I hear the Droid startup sound without me touching it
View 15 Replies View RelatedI haven't used my original Droid in about 2 months. The last time I used it, no problems. Booted up, used it, shut it down. I go to turn it on, and nothing... to be expected, dead battery. So I think I charged the battery. The charging light turns on. The backlight turns on, and that's it. It just stays like that. It either automatically does that when I plug it into a charger (car, home, or usb on computer), or if its unplugged, when I push the power button. Other than a black screen with the backlight turning on, I get nothing.This is not a stock rom on this phone. It's been a WiFi/Bluetooth toy for about a year now.I've tried powering it on while holding the "X" key, and it doesn't get me into the boot loader, just the black screen.

View 5 Replies View RelatedMy new n900 (updated with the latest firmware) powers off / shuts down randomly when running on battery power. I have to use the power button to turn it on again and wait for it to boot, showing the hand animation/boot screen. I can't locate the reason for this, is it hardware/software or purely battery related. It doesn't seem to happen when plugged in into the charger.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI have a samsung SPH-A900 fliphone (later known as the MM-a900) on the Sprint network. Randomly the phone will power itself off (with or without the animation) or will completely reboot. Usually when charging it powers off and when not plugged it it reboots (but sometimes it just powers off when it's being used) Problem seems to be worse at home (7/7 bar reception) than on the road (2-4 bar reception)
I've tried 3 different batteries (2 aftermarked extended and 1 OEM) but it still happens. Phone was master-reset and re-OTA-programmed with no change from either.
My droid Razr randomly powers down. Never when I'm using it, only when it is sitting idle. This is the second droid razr I have had in the last month and both phones have had this problem. There are no third party apps on the phone, and I have tried numerous factory resets with no success.

View 7 Replies View RelatedNever had a problem until last night when the ringer volume began to automatically increases on its own.If I turn it down you can watch it immediately increase itself back to full volume and then it will continually chirp that its at full volume. It's like the side button is stuck but it isn't.I can power off the phone and even pull the battery and reboot and it will be fine for a short while and then the problem will begin again.

I really like my live wallpaper and I like keeping it looking clean. I've noticed that randomly apps go missing. The apps are still on the device, they have to be reloaded onto the respective home page. It's a random event. Not anyone particular app, happened to several, not necessarily the same one over again.

Since then, at least 2 times (possibly more if I was away from my phone when it happened), my phone has randomly started ringing without any incoming calls, alarms or calender appointments set, emails, messages, etc. The only way I could make it stop is to shut the phone down. The volume of the ringing isn't as loud as my set volume, but there is no way to silence it aside from shutting down the phone. Never did it before the system update. I'm not positive if it happens at the same time each time, but it was around 4:17 PM yesterday when it did it.

I've thought this was a notification but sometimes there is one and sometimes there isn't. The phone's sitting perfectly still on a desk or lamp table etc. I don't have any settings on that turn the screen on for notification.

The phone not only disconnects from the person I am talking to, but powers down as well. If it just disconnected I could immediately call the person back, but instead, I have to go through the power on sequence and then call the person back which takes considerably longer.

View 18 Replies View RelatedIt doesnt group any of my pictures into files even though they are saved that way on my SD card. They are all grouped under All pictures. I also have a problem with the gallery just duplicating pictures randomly. I have only took 6 pictures since i got the phone and it shows i have 437 all most of them are all the same picture. Does anyone else have this same problem? I have tried using the .nomedia trick but that doesnt even work either so i need some help or i will have to return the phone this weekend.
View 4 Replies View RelatedBoth my wife's razr maxx and mine lose sound for media like play music, games and even stock music player at random times when the issue occurs. Only way I get it back is either restart the phone or if I go to menu>system settings>sound>sounds and turn ringtone volume all the way down and back up again. I thought is was just my phone but my wife complained about it to me and showed her what I do to get it back. I already did a FDR after ICS update.

Once this 'feature' activates, the right half of the screen will be updated, but at a very choppy rate. Only resolution is to reboot the phone.
Doesn't appear to have any correlation to apps I'm running. Has happened running Waze, gmail, and simply flipping through home screens.
This happens at least 2 to 3 times a day, and started happening after receiving the OTA on Saturday. Have had the 64GB version since mid-November. Has been rock solid until this past weekend.
Tried wiping the cache partition, but issue still occurs.
I'm trying to listen to music with Spotify on my Droid Bionic but the Spotify player randomly pauses frequently in the middle of songs. This actually happens when I'm using the stock music player as well, not only Spotify.
View 4 Replies View RelatedJust earlier today my phone randomly rebooted (not all that uncommon unfortunately) but it ended up at a garbled screen as shown in the attached picture. A battery pull and reboot fixed the graphics glitch but I've also had one other graphics glitch when I was using my gps. The bottom 3/4 of an inch of the screen had a static image of the top portion of the screen. Other than "overlaying" that image it didn't affect the behavoir of the phone any, I could bring up the menu and select options in it but they were hidden behind the glitch. It did it again. This time it's just the bottom half of the screen and the phone "works" but is extremely laggy.

Recently, my phone has been randomly shutting off and the only way to turn it back on is to remove the battery. It has also happened when the phone is on and I am charging it. My husband's phone has not randomly shut off at any time. I have downloaded a few apps which include Accuweather, Go SMS pro and PicSpeed Wallpaper. I also inserted my micro SD card from my old phone into the new phone which I just removed to see if the phone will randomly shut down. I also do not have the pocket detector on.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am not sure if Moto is aware of the bug introduced in .173. Ever since the OTA a few months back the orientation/rotation sensor randomly stops working. I haven't been able to track it down to any particular app, but instead have a feeling that it's caused by any app that forces a horizontal orientation. I don't want to limit it to just that though, but basically after this bug is triggered, tilting the phone manually into horizontal orientation doesn't rotate the screen and any games/apps that use the tilt sensor stop responding to it completely. I launched Elixir tools while this issue was occurring and in the Sensor section of the app the two sensors that deal with orientation, the orientation and the rotation vector sensors are jumping all over the place. A reboot fixes this for a few days or possibly until i launch an app that triggers this bug and then it's the same thing all over again.
