I've triedusing the Android mp3 player, but it has a cute anal-retentive habit of compulsively storing - and playing - the songs alphabetically instead of the order in which they were downloaded from the CD. View 3 RepliesI have been having a blast exploring and customizing my 9700 over the past few days and last night installed a 16GB microsd and began the process of transferring some of my music to the device via the Blackberry Media Sync app on my pc. Transfer went just fine and all files show up on the card, however when I use the Media Player on the device and select by "Album" or "Artist" the tracks are listed alphabetically rather than by track number. It's not a huge deal except when I want to listen to a particular album in track order (The Wall is just made to played that way, isn't it? ). I have looked around for a menu option or something to list by track, but have had no luck. Does anyone here know how to do this? Also, if I connect to my pc via "Mass Storage Mode" and drill down to the album folder in question the track number shows up in the windows explorer folder and all my mp3 files are saved in a "Track Number" - "Songname".mp3 format.

how to sort the "Favorites" folder alphabetically? I'm not sure what the default sorting rules are. They don't seem to be organized by date of entry, or by frequency of use.

The icon shows up in the notification area but when I hover over it it disappears and the program stops. Everything is up to date on my computer, windows, java, I.E.everything.
View 15 Replies View RelatedMy 3-month-old Flipside loads text messages and my contacts very slowly, to the point where it can take in excess of five minutes to create and send a text. I know the problem isn't too many texts in my inbox, since I delete them frequently & usually only have one or two brief conversations in them. When I start typing a contact's name in the sender box, my phone doesn't automatically search my contacts for autocomplete (or does so very slowly), even if I hit the OK button, which has occasionally sped up the process. Therefore, I have to go through my contacts manually & send the message from there. But this is still a problem, since my phone loads my contacts slowly, also. I do have a lot of contacts, probably around 800, because my phone is synced to my Facebook & Twitter accounts. However, I can't un-sync them because then I can't have Facebook or Twitter on my phone--there's no way to have site access without syncing my address book. This is getting to be very frustrating & super inconvenient.

I have tried deleting the playlists several times and the issue keeps showing up. I would like to use the stock player because the lyrics come up and I can change songs in the lock screen.

Why does the built-in music player app keep starting itself in the background?Ever since I first got the phone, I kept finding the music player open. Its there about a minute after boot. I use Advanced Task Kill to stop it, a minute later or so and its back. I used Optimize Tool Box to view the startup apps and Music is not one of them. Keep in mind, this is not a background service but the app itself.

View 1 Replies View RelatedIf I have a podcast in my Droid 3, the built-in Music Player plays the podcast file automatically whenever it gets a Bluetooth-stereo connection to my car audio system automatically. I don't like the Music Player because it does not have "Resume Play" feature where I can pause the play, saving the position, and resume play when I restart the Music Player later. My SanDisk Clip+ MP3 Player can do this, but the more expensive Droid 3 with the built-in Music Player does not have this feature.
Plus, if I have another podcast player app, the built-in Music Player seems to take precedence and will even play over the the third-party podcast player app, so you start getting multiple podcasts playing at the same time.
how to disable the Music Player permanently? I of course cannot uninstall it.
I've had this phone for about a week now and being more comfortable with it I'm using more features and have an issue with the music app and widget. It wont play all my music. The app will play each song individually when manually selected but when on the song list is plays one to two songs after in order then jumps to the songs listed under "I" and repeats that segment (the songs that title starts with I) instead of staying in order, it has also done this with "M" once, have tried clearing cashe and data of the app with no change in result. Has anyone else had this problem (P.S. I'ma give up saying I wont by Motorola anymore, had the perfect chance to switch over when I signed the contract for 4G service and... bought Moto, just the brand me and my family have used as long as I can remember)

View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded to GB and ever since my battery has been getting completely drained very quickly. When I look at the Battery Usage stats, I have the following:
Android OS: 85%
Display: 10%
Launcher Pro: 3%
Phone Idle: 2%
Cell Standby: 2%
Besides the fact that the percentages don't add up to 100%, I have never seen the Android OS be so high in battery usage. When I click on Android OS for further detail, it says CPU Total = 1h 15m 35s. My phone was fully charged and I have only been on battery 1h 42m 0s. If these stats are correct, that means the Android system has been using my CPU for almost the whole time my phone has been on. What would cause this? Its very frustrating that I am down to 50% battery after only having my phone on for less than 2 hours. In the time my phone has been on, I haven't done any processor intensive task like web browsing and have not run any apps at all other than Gmail.
I got a notification for update to Android 4.0.4 for MotorolaXYBoard WiFi in the US.
I tried three time and the installation failed. Unit is well connected to his docking station and strong wifi signal. Download was OK.
After the ANDROID icom appear and install started, I got a yellow triangle and after then a message that the install failed. The fact that I'm not in the USA righ now, could be a problem for the dowload ? I tried 3 times.
using OpenCore (under the stock audio player), the media player will not play newer MP3 files with high bit-rate encoding. Any of my MP3 files encoded in such a manner come up unsupported and will not play. However, lo and behold, I put the MP3s on my ORIGINAL DROID, and they play just fine using Stagefright (under the stock audio player) in Froyo. Attempting to use Stagefright on the X2 results in skipping/stuttering with these files (though there are no issues with other files). So, what now? After all of the music skipping/stuttering issues, certain MP3 files are now just completely unsupported? What gives? I continue to be completely and utterly let down by this POS phone and the complete lack of support.

It was rooted so it was easy to disable those apps that I didn't want to ever start. Now, that I have upgraded to the Bionic, I can't play/pause or forward/back using the volume buttons nor my BT headset without it starting the stock player.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have had my Droid X for about 6 months and until now have been able to sync music to it with no problem. I have a subscription to the Zune Pass so the files that I sync are DRM protected. Windows Media Player is the only software I know of that can successfully sync these files to my phone. That is until recently. While I am still able to syne non-DRM Mp3's, suddenly now when I try to sync any Zune Pass files (which are WMA files), I get an error telling me that the "device's internal clock is not correct". how I can solve the problem but none of them have worked. One suggestion had me go into WMP's Privacy tab in its Tools menu and select the option to "Set clock on devices automatically", but the option was already selected.
How can I check if my device's internal clock is off? What could I have done to mess it up in the first place?
I never did figure out the white LED when plugged into a low/high power USB port, but now just after I begin to play music through the stock player and turn of the screen the phone vibrates once. Then in about a min it vibrates 2 quick vibes. Then, never does it again until the music player is exited and started again.

I hit "End Call" and it does it again and again. I am not sure what makes it finally stop. I also have poor sound/missing vocals on songs when I do get it to play. I am using my Ipod ear phones.

And my question is ... is there a way to set Google Music as default player that accepts bluetooth commands?My typical use case - when I try to play music using bluetooth system in my car, I have to manually open Google Music from the phohe, otherwise standard Motorola Music app would take over and play. And since there is no way to uninstall it, I have to stop motorola music app, switch to google music and manually start music there.
