Motorola Atrix HD :: "Smart Dock Has Stopped" Error Message
Sep 27, 2012
Is anyone else having difficulties with the charging dock. After the update, if I select bedside mode, i get the "Unfortunately, Smart Dock has stopped" message. Office mode works fine.
Will the Lapdock (and other accessories for that matter) work for the new Atrix 2 coming? I've only used the Lapdock lightly and it will be a real shame if it and the other accessories I've purchased over the past year won't work with the 2nd gen Atrix.
I've Just completed the Official ICS Upgrade on my MZ616 Asia/Pacific model (purchased in Singapore). It Appears that Motoprint is broken after the upgrade? Attempting to print - results in an error "Unfortunately Motoprint has stopped" the only options given are to "Report" or "OK" the error message. Motoprint is up to date (Version 5.0.0.26) - and no updates appear to be available on Play Store. Accessing Motoprint through the settings menu gives the same error.
The error msg 'SIM not allowed MM #6' (may be #3, can't remember off hand) appears occasionally on my screen. Phone usually locks up and I need to reset power to continue.
When up connect my Atrix to my computer via the USB cable, I get the message, "Do you want to scan and fix MB860?" as wells as "Do you want to scan and fix SD card?" This happens on a Windows Vista and on a Windows 7 computer. The problem is not that I do not disconnect properly from the computer, as I always click that "Safely Remove Hardware" icon in the tray (isn't that what they call it?) down on the right of the Taskbar, and then click the proper choice before unplugging the cable. If I tell it I do want to scan and fix, there is never any problem found after the scanning.
I keep getting an error message that the ICS software update has failed. The download process will finish, it will stop a little into the installation, restarts the phone and says the update failed. Is anyone else having this problem or know of any way that I can get the update to install?
I need to get an automobile dock for this phone. There is one listed in the Motorola store but it does not appear to be available for purchase. There is such a dock listed on Amazon, but the price is $60 which seems excessive
I was just reading a press release about features the new Moto Droid Razr will have and they listed "Smart Actions", which is a very very neat feature. What "Smart Actions" does is enable the phone's user to set up certain conditions and situations that would set off specific actions by the phone. Sure, you can probably find a similar app in the Android Market, but isn't it nicer to find this app on your phone right out of the box?internal clock on the handset and the GPS, you can set your screen to lower the brightness by 20% at a certain time of day, or turn off the sound at a certain location. Not only can this function as a saver (increasing battery life by up to 30% according to Motorola) by turning on and off certain features at specific times or places, you can also use "Smart Actions" to make sure that your favorite website is up on the browser, refreshed and up to date when you get up in the morning. You can also set your not to ring while at a meeting. Motorola includes some preloaded and suggested rules to help get you started.
I just bought a new HD Multimedia dock for my Atrix. I plugged the phone in and after about an hour I noticed that the phone was quite warm. This doesn't happen when the phone is being charged normally, by plugging it into a wall socket. Is this normal?
I just got the car dock, which I really like (I had one of my original Atrix 4G) I was wondering if anyone had a recomendation for a protective case for the phone that will work with the car dock. I prefer the thinner silicon varity, buy I really want one that will fit with the car dock. Looking at the dock there seems to be a removable insert to be able to accomodate a thicker case.
I just switched from an Atrix to an Atrix 2. The Atrix 2 must be providing AVRCP 1.3 or better because I now see all the MP3 track, title and artist info on my Kenwood DDX896 head unit when I connect with Bluetooth. Is anyone else doing this, and have you had any issues with it? About 75% of the time, when the phone is in the car dock and the Kenwood comes online, the phone reboots. I think it has something to do with the transmission of the track data because I see the Bluetooth icon turn blue, the Kenwood shows connected and then about a second later, when I would expect to see the track data or "Unknown" pop up, the phone reboots.
I received "Motocast has stopped working" error message upon initial installation and every time I attempt to open the program. I have rebooted several times. I have uninstalled the error message. Rebooted. then downloaded the latest version from Motorola web site. Installed it. I still got the same error message. The software has never opened successfully.
My car dock charger stopped charging my RAZR but works on my wife's HTC but my older Moto vehicle charger still works. It also seems as if it takes a very long time to chage the battery even on my original RAZR home charger.
I've had my Xoom for 3 weeks now. It worked okay with no error messages until last week. Everytime I turn it on, it displays this message:The Process android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly. Please retry again.Forceclose Report?I have chosen Report and filled that out, but now just hit Forceclose and it resumes and I don't seem to have any problems.
Have a new lapdock and my phone is not seeing the lapdock while 2 other phones work fine. The lapdock is fully charged and plugged in. My phone does not show the menu when docked or any indication of charging. It seem oblivious to the lapdock. The Atrix does, however, work with a multimedia dock with keyboard and mouse. The Atrix was one of the pre-release batch and is current on AT&T software. I did delete some bloatware, mostly games, some time back.
When I dock my Atrix 4G (stock with 2.3.4 OTA update) with my new lapdock, I get the bouncing red logo on the lapdock and only two choices on the phone...Entertainment center and dismiss. I am able to play music, view pictures, etc on the lapdock screen if I select the Entertainment center option, but the keyboard on the lapdock does nothing. I have to use the controls on the phone to control it. And it appears that I can enable/disable the touchpad by double tapping the upper left corner.
I just ordered the Atrix car dock. I know you can either install it off your windshield using the suction cup or placing it on your dashboard using the sticky tape. Based on the dimensions of my 2010 Civic's sloping windshield, I'm afraid it might be too far away for me to safely use while driving. I was thinking maybe I should mount it directly under the rear-view mirror. I was considering placing it in the storage bin just below the radio/AC controls and behind the shifter (using the sticky tape) or placing it to my left on the windshield. Of course, placing it to my left would mean that cables will be running under the steering wheel.
My atrix works with the hd dock and saitek backlit usb keyboard fine. I also have a gigabyte bluetooth mouse thats works with the ocassional dropout. The problem is I just got a motorola bluetooth keyboard with trackpad and it doesn't work in webtop mode. The mouse portion of the keyboard works sometimes and then drops out, but I can't type anything. The caps lock light will not even come on. When I undock the phone the keyboard will work and then disconnects randomly. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem. Hopefully this will be fixed with a software update.
I just purchased the Standard Dock and I must say, it is a very nice and works well charging my phone while watching movies and stuff. I was wondering, can use its cord to charge my phone? From what I understand, the dock is a rapid charger, but won't over charge the Atrix.
After the software update, the Atrix 2 is still locked to landscape mode when in the car dock.
enable auto-rotation while docked, if the response to this is that this is the expected behavior. I hate using the phone in landscape mode in the car, as it severely limits the visibility of certain apps -- PLUS, other apps force their orientation to portrait while the phone is in this mode, resulting in the need for you to manually rotate the phone just for that one app.
I moved from the Photon 4G with the Motorola vehicle dock over to the Atrix 2 with the Motorola vehicle dock... No matter what I have tried, the phone insists on going into landscape mode when in the dock. I need to have the dock in portrait mode, as thats the only way it fits on my dash without obstructing anything.
The new car dock software is awesome.... better music player, better everything....But the calling section, which has a favorites option is giving me problems. I Have one favorite and it seems to be me from my google+ account. I can find no way to add favorites to this screen even though i have favorites in my contacts menu on the phone.Anyone with a car dock have any luck with this feature?I have tried creating new contacts and modifying existing ones. Adding them to the <gasp> AT&T address book, and changing them in my google contacts
I have my atrix plugged into my car dock while driving and listening to music from it through the aux input on my stereo (through the charge lead) but when every I make or answer a call while driving, the sound defaults to the speaker on the phone and nothing can be heard. I have to press the "Speaker" button on the screen and then i can hear the person on the call without issue.
Does anybody know if the Atrix 2 will fit in either the car dock or the HD dock with Otterbox's Commuter case? I'm guessing it doesn't, but I'd be pleasantly surprised if it did. It'd be nice to have a hard plastic case that also allowed for docking.
I just bought a car dock. It works great. I can't seem to get the audio to be transferred to my blueant supertooth 3. The bluetooth works perfectly with the phone but the directions for the navigation won't come through. I don't have an aux plug on my car radio. Am I missing some setting or some nuance to this setup?
I've noticed that the volume does not change at all when output is the car dock. E.g. lowering the volume does not actually decrease the volume until you get down to muting the device (which does still work). There are no problems when listening through the headphone out, but I don't wish to negate the functionality of the rather expensive Motorola Cardock. This is a major inconvenience as it generally causes an ugly distortion and could damage my car speakers.
I purchased the Atrix HD dock but when I connect, I do not get the complete selection of apps such as webtop, gallery mirror mode, office etc. What can I do?
How can you adjust the time that the "night" colors appear in the Car Dock? It switches to night around 1800EST and back to day colors and brightness at 0600~ish. too dark at twilight and too bright first thing in the morning. Maybe use the light sensor included in the hardware? Or have a day-light savings setting? Or just use the light sensor. Is there a way to adjust when the "Auto" happens?
