View 3 RepliesWhen using the camera button to take a photo I must half press the button to trigger the autofocus. If I just full press the button the camera will just take the photo, but 9 out of 10 will be out of focus because autofocus has not been triggered. If I touch the screen, the phone first focus and then shots. Is there some setting to force the autofocus even when I press fully the camera button? I want the camera button click to behave just like the screen touch. Is this possible?
View 1 Replies View RelatedFor some reason today when i opened up my camera to take a few shots it had problem auto focusing on items close to me, as you know when you tap the screen to focus on a point in the screen you get the circle and a small beep to let you know it's focusing ok, it seemed to have problems getting to this point and there was an audible high pitched buzzing or clicking sound coming from the lens itself and the screen image would not come into focus
the phone has not been dropped or roughly handled so i am 100% sure it's not an issue caused by being knocked, i have tried a reset and a reboot but the issue still remains, also i have done no recent updates and there are none showing so that's not the issue either
I'm having issues with the brightness of the screen of my iphone 5.
The bottom half of the display is less bright than the upper half.
It came into contact with water but not in a high amount, about five drops hit the iphone and I dried them imminently away.
I still got the protection plan active, but it would be better if I could fix it right away. Â Â

My 950xl is having some serious autofocus issues in low light. I half hold the camera button and the image will come into focus. I then finish the press, and as the camera tries to take the picture, the camera app tries to refocus and fails nearly every time. I have found that the only way to be certain this doesn't happen is to manually focus shot in low light. I was going to attach some samples but this website doesn't play nice with Edge - which is ridiculous since it is a Windows focused site.
View 12 Replies View RelatedWhen I start any camera app on my Lumia 1020 the picture is blurry if I'm pointing the camera at anything over 6 inches away or so. When I push the camera button in it attempts to focus. Sometimes it will focus on distant objects the way it should, but most of the time it does not and everything stays blurry. This happened after receiving the latest update(not sure what update version). I've tried reinstalling Nokia Cam but it does not fix the problem. I haven't tried resetting to factory setting yet because I do not wish to have to redo everything on the phone.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy 1020 seems to have a problem when set to infinity focus...the pictures end up a bit blurry. The strange thing is that on autofocus the picture is perfectly sharp...which makes me think this is a software issue rather than hardware.
I uploaded 2 pictures to show you the issue. Both were taken on a tripod and 2 seconds self timer to avoid handshake. ISO was set at 100 and everything else left on auto except for focus mode.

My new 1020 doesn't seem to focus on (especially) close-up objects ! Everytimes i tap on the subjects to focus (close-up / macro), the camera unable to lock the focus ! Is it normal for 1020 or manufacturing defect ?
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy 1020 photos are appalling at the moment. They are just unfocused. Took photos of my daughter seeing Santa yesterday, no time to fiddle with settings. Ended up with awful out of focus shots, friends Iphone pics were fab. So fed up, I nearly missed the pics altogether because of the loading screen.

View 19 Replies View RelatedI discover a really annoying bug when using flash and manual focus. So to reproduce it with no doubt, use a white subject, like a written paper, or something white to capture at a very close distance, let's say 20 cm (or 7 inches). Then:
- Open Nokia Camera.
- First thing, select manual focus.
- Be sure Flash is on.
- Now take the picture.
What you now (should) have is an unusual burned picture. If you take the same picture, with totally the same settings, and using autofocus, instead, the light is normal and the paper correct.
I discover a "workaround" with pressing the autofucus button, let it try to focus something, first, and then using Manual Focus (it seems like a first procedure in autofocusing resets some parameters).
After this and taken the picture, flash and light seem correct, but comparing the autofocus picture taken first, with the Manual Focus one taken later, the manual one results again a bit brighter (in my example the color changed and the more brightness is barely noticeable, but I assure you, depending on colors and distance, it gets just more).
I already tried on 3 1020s.
1 - mine
2 - a friend of mine's
3 - one in a NStore shop directly from the shelf (the employer was embarassed for not knowing that issue).
The problem always occurred.
I recorded my first video, the audio is amazing and the video..could be sharp. but it was switching focus non stop.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI bought 2 Samsung Focus phones when they launched back in 2010, one of me and one for my Wife. It's an excellent phone, my favorite smartphone of all the one's I've owned. I'm a bit of a tech/gadget freak and was hoping to upgrade to a new WP7 device this year, but I'm overall disappointed with the 'new' wp7 phones. None of them seem to really offer any reasonable upgrade over the Samsung Focus.
However, I'm torn because I really want to upgrade to something new. I can sell mine and buy the Nokia Lumia 900 and probably make money on the deal.
Between the two, the Focus is lighter, smaller, better screen (although lumia 900 is .3 inches larger screen), comparable battery life, etc. The focus is also super fast, so i don't know if the upgraded CPU in the Lumia 900 will even be noticeable.
The battery life on my focus was 3 days of light/moderate use UNTIL I upgraded to Mango. Now I'm lucky to get a full 24 hours out of the battery, with no other changes done, the battery life was cut down to 1/3 of original. I'm really disappointed about this. I don't know how it will compare with the Nokia Lumia 900.
The Nokia does have a front facing camera (useful for Skype if it ever comes to WP7) and a higher megapixel camera (although my focus takes really great pictures already). It also has more built-in storage, 16gb vs the focus 8gb (although after year of use I still have 1gb left and I have a lot of junk apps that I need to delete). So, Why should I upgrade to the Nokia Lumia 900? Is it worth it?
I really need some convincing. Maybe I'm missing something here.
I would like to know the difference between full and auto-focus cameras. How will be picture clarity of full focus compared to auto-focus.
View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen trying to FaceTime with my iPhone 5, the rear camera continually moves from focus to out-of-focus. I'm FaceTiming with absolutely mad because the picture moves from blurry to clear almost constantly.
I had to replace my first iPhone 5 after only 15 months because the rear camera couldn't auto-focus anymore (a well-documented problem), and I had to pay for a replacement phone. Now after only 5 months with the replacement iPhone 5 I received from Apple it seems like I'm having more issues with the rear camera.
A feature that I used to love on my Lumia 920 on Win8.1 was that I could just tap the screen in the camera app on the spot that I wanted the focus to be on and the camera would focus and automatically proceed to take the photo. On the new Lumia 950 camera, I now need to focus and then separately press either the physical camera button or the soft camera button on screen. Any way to snap the photo in a single step by tapping the screen like I could do with the Windows 8.1 camera?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI've only had my Lumia 710 for two weeks. Up until 4 days ago, the touch screen focus attribute was working perfectly. I was taking pictures and it simply stopped working.I've since tried resetting the camera options back to defaults with no luck. I recently updated the phones software pn 10.18.2012 with no change either. I also took out the battery and sim card out of frustration and obviously had no luck.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am having a debilitating issue with the 1520. The bing search window popping up when my hand is no where near the search button. It exits me out of any app I am in and in some cases it freezes and I cannot press anything or exit the search screen. I have the Belkin folio wallet case and I noticed when closing the case it activates the search button. I lowered the touch sensitivity and this seemed to remedy that issue however the constant pop up of the bing search screen continues. I am going to do a wipe and reset of the device. Perhaps I have a lemon or maybe this device is not ready for primetime?

View 2 Replies View RelatedIn Nokia Camera,
1) In Camera Mode:----
OIS works with Auto Focus
OIS works when we manually set focus to infinity
But OIS doesn't work when Focus is on Manual.
However In Video mode,
OIS works in all 3 cases, i.e. OIS works whether focus is Auto or to infinity or Focus is Manual.
Let us request Nokia to look into this matter and release an update to Nokia Camera app to fix this issue.
I'm writing because I red some places that Nokia E52 has Auto Focus or in some place "Full focus", so Iám wondering is this true, because I can't find no settings to adjust it ?
View 8 Replies View RelatedSometimes when the camera starts focusing to make a picture, it makes a really high pitched sound. It continues when the camera has focused until the picture is made. The sound certainly doesn't come from the speakers and isn't triggered by the phone itself but purely by the camera on the back, so it has to be something hardware related.
It isn't that big of a problem, the camera certainly isn't malfunctioning, but I was with a friend today who asked me what that sound was and I'm wondering as well, since it isn't supposed to produce sounds like that.
Why the lens focus & open vibrate quite hard and even clicking sound? Is this normal? I never drop my phone higher than 2 centimeter.
View 3 Replies View Related"Upgraded" to the Lumia 820 about a month ago from the Samsung Focus (WP7) and everything worked great for a couple weeks until the phone started freezing. Also noticed that once the freezing issue started, everytime I would unplug the charger the phone would play a sound even though I have the ringer off and vibrate on. I complained to ATT and got a replacement. Things worked great for a week, no freezing and no sound played when unplugging the charger. Then there was a notification for updates for approximately 6 items, and I believe this is when the problems occurred again. The phone freezes and a sound is played when the charger is unplugged from the phone like before. The phone freezes when it is in standby and I try to wake it up by pressing the power button.

It only happens with texts from him, no-one else. I've tried deleting our conversation but it makes no difference. It's getting so frustrating cos I have to keep asking him to text me again and a lot of the time I just get another 'cracked' text!

View 1 Replies View RelatedI accidentally uninstalled one of the components of an app (dictionary) which came with the phone, which rendered it unusable (keep saying word base missing), but it's fine as I have installed the nokia dictionary. The problem is: How do I remove the half-dead app? I can't uninstall it for some reason, I can't remove it from my list of apps, Or if Nokia (Nokia Taiwan ) would kindly provide me a SIS for me to re-install, that would be great too.
