I have had my phone for over a year, specifically chosen for the camera. The camera has recently stopped focusing on closeup shots, like taking a picture of a check for mobile deposits. It does this on manual and auto focus. It used to take perfect pictures. I have even done a factory reset on the phone to no avail.

I bought my 1020 and was working just fine, but after 20 days, the camera stopped working. This is what I did after it:
1) I tried a hard reset and it worked for a couple of hours
2) I tried a soft reset and it worked for 1 day
3) I noticed that when I changed the date to the past and turned it off, the camera strated working for some hours.
4) I don't have a warranty, because I bought in USA and here, in Brazil, they don't accept the warranty. Even so, I took it to the assistence. They updated the software and, after 1 day, it stopped working. AGAIN!!! They said to me that if it crashes again, probably it would be a hardware problem, but they don't know how to fix it, since 1020 is new in Brazil.

My Nokia PD-95G Lumia 1020 Camera Battery Case, bought in late 2013, does not charge anymore. LED flashes slowly when connected but does not fill up to indicate a full charge. And when connected to phone does not discharge battery into the phone.
View 2 Replies View RelatedJust come back to my 1520 yesterday and updated it to Cyan 8.1 which means the current version of Nokia Camera, however, Ive noticed that the focus ring, which normally flashes as its focusing when you depress the camera button half way, sometimes just appears on-screen and no longer looks as if its focusing, but as if its already focussed and ready to take the shot. I have to close Nokia camera and re-open it again so it focusses, but any shots after the `st one.. the focus ring is just solid.
The Windows Camera still focuses as does ProShot.. however, I want to use Living Images in storyteller.Does this have anything to do with this "Burst Shot" thats supposed to be in the camera.
I just purchased a Lumia Icon recently and on going through and testing out various functions, I noticed that the video recording has an odd noise whenever the camera autofocuses.
The device is up to date on everything, Windows 8.1 and Lumia Denim with the latest camera app.
Here is a sample of it (close range, but it does the same noise when focusing on anything )
Right near the end I switched it to manual focus (the "jump" in focus you see and possibly the sound when that happens), but then switched it back to auto which is the noise starting again.
This happens in both surround sound mode and not.
I'm just wondering if this is normal or not. All the sample videos I have looked for either have someone talking or music playing over the video audio itself, or else what is being recorded is noisy enough to possibly hide the autofocus noise if it exists.

Next is when you take picture. When u go to photo albums. You see a link below saying open in Nokia camera. How come pics have that link and others don't? I took some smartcam pics too look at later and can't open it up and do the action shots and other stuff.

Just loaded 2.2.2 onto my Singapore region Defy. The OS upgrades are fantastic! My default camera now has a repositionable focus box!
Only problem is that it does not focus at all! Moving the box around does absolutely nothing! Additionally, if I use the flash, it just takes a all black photo!?
Just got my phone replaced because the screen was sometimes unresponsive when layed flat on a surface. Now I got a problem with the rear facing camera. When I open the camera app the auto focus doesn't always work. As result I get very blurry photo's...

This could be a hardware or software problem. I performed a hard reset and reboot but the problem still occurs from time to time.
I didnt drop my phone and I removed the plastic of the camera lens and led flash, so that cant be the problem.

Camera unit have trouble focusing right in startup? Mine sometimes takes a couple seconds to focus from a very fuzzy picture and then is like lightning....

However I haven't got any apps on the phone that allow me to shoot in RAW and the one that I read that's recommended (I can't remember the name now) isn't available on the list of apps that I can download.
I've purchased Proshot, but that doesn't do dng files and I can't find one that can.
I've got a Lumia 1020 on AT&T, white version. Sometimes, when I open the camera (Pro, Smart, stock, whatever), the camera doesn't detect that I'm holding the phone in landscape. It takes the picture, but of course it's 90 degrees wrong in the Camera Roll, and I have to manually rotate it later.
It's generally fixed with a power cycle (turn off then turn on). It'll work for a few hours and then get "stuck" in portrait mode again.
Suddenly my camera lost auto focusing. Marco icon will appear no matter where you try to focus, and it hangs (looks like waiting AF to complete) if you actually take a picture. Then CPU goes to 100% as you can feel the back is burning up.

View 1 Replies View RelatedOver the last week or so when I start up the camera it gets stuck at the "Loading...." screen. When it first started it happened about every other time I started the camera, but is gradually becoming more frequent and sometimes I cant get it to work at all unless I restart the phone and even then it's not certain.
The camera mechanism itself doesn't seem to be making any strange or loud noises when this happens, so that leads me to think its probably not hardware related. Between this and my wifi only wanting to connect when it feels like it I'm just about at the end of my rope with what started out as a great phone.
This just started happening today. I have had my phone (Lumia 1020) for less that a year. At the beginning of the week I had the blue screen of death (boot configuration error) - and had to re-install the software- which I did successfully a few days ago. All was good... The camera worked for a few days and then boom- as of today it just boots me back to the start screen when I go to take a pic.
