LG :: LX260 (Rumor) ESN & MEID Zeroed Out

I had my LG Rumor(unflashed) plugged into uniCDMA to get my security code and I clicked "read all" and my phone's info showed up. I saw the phones ESN # and I clicked "write" (assuming it would just rewrite the original ESN) & it said ESN write failed followed by my phone restarting. Once I plugged it back in, my ESN, MEID, and other codes where zeroed out.Is there anyway to restore it, because my ESN is showing up as zeros in my phone's settings and I'm trying to activate it with cricket. Thanks in advance!

I had a boot-looping Chocolate 3, so then I emergency flashed it and did an MEID repair using tonycortes' method. I got everything working, but now MMS doesn't work. I tried copying the MMS server settings off of a known good phone of the same model and firmware version but still, failing to send every time.Anyone have any really good ideas as to how to get MMS working again? Still on VZW, not cross-carrier flashed or anything.

Does the XPRT phone need to be activated by Sprint to get a HEX MEID? I have been using the XPRT off Sprint's network since purchase. It doesn't appear that I can activate the device from Sprint Zone while not on their network. Can I phone them to activate the XPRT?

I am having trouble with some things that I havent been able to figure out by now and this is my last resort where to find answers. This issue is really bugging me. After literally spending two weeks with my service provider telephoning most time waiting in witing for a call center agent to get connected to and being each time transferred to another division to a last being transferred to the divission where I first started at speak meoving in a cricle and no one being able to help me and this whole theater every day the same for two weeks, I am turning now to the people here hoping I could find some answers
1) My provider in Switzerland is sunrise (BIS), so I went on to the website sunrise.blackberry.com and entered my existing accounts, 4 of them. Additionaly I registered a new blackberry email address to be able to use the true push service which is xx@sunrise.blackberry.com (xx being just a placeholder for my real name). The problem is though that I haven't been able to find out the mail settings I have to enter into my Mail Programm on my PC so I can access the emails on my computer. I dont know if it's a pop server, an IMAP server and not to speak of the mail settings of the server settings for incoming and outgoing email. Since it's actually a BlackBerry server I figured that the servers are BB managed (no one at Sunrise Switzerland even knew what BIS is or that you could receive PUSH mail with the Blackberry email).
2) I tried to register a new email address at https://bis.na.blackberry.com/html for a direct xx@blackberry.com email address thinking that maybe with this, it would easier to find infos about the settings. The problem here is that I have to enter my PIN (no problem) and ESN/MEID number. The Problem is that I haven't been able to find those numbers now mather how hard I tried; they are not even listed in options>status.

I just upgraded from a ic502 to the LG Rumor 2. How can I get my contacts to my new phone? I do not subscribe to the Sprint gimmick to do it that way. I got the contacts off the ic502 using iDEN Phonebook Manager. Am I going to have to go to a Sprint store? Oh, and I don't have the USB cable yet either.Sorry if this has already been asked, but I searched and couldn't find anything.

Other than the obvious lack of buttons on the Rumor 2, are most of the internal workings the same as the Touch? For instance fixes for uploading ring tones and other hacks.

just received an LG Scoop from my daughter that she had been using and overall it is a nice phone for me and I have been able to ad my personal ringers and photo for wallpaper. My biggest issue with this phone though is that I have a hard time seeing the tiny font when I read a text message. Has anyone figured out a filesystem fix for this or any other work around?

i have the rumor touch on virgin mobile, my problem is that in the predictive text mode it finds and adds words even though i dont want it too. this happened with the rumor 2 too, but the problem is you cant edit of delete these words.i was wondering if someone that has the rumor touch on sprint has a way to edit the dictionary and its just cut out of the virgin mobile rumor touch firmware (cause virgin mobile does it alot with thier software).

My LG Rumour's screen has been cracked and for some reason it won't link up to the machine that transfers numbers. All I really need is someone to walk me through the steps from beginning to end. Remember I can't see the screen so it would be great to get really good detailed directions for turning blue-tooth on, pairing the phones and transfer of numbers.

I am using an Alltel Scoop (AX260) on PPC. Voice and text work well but not MMS or Browser. Found the Data menu via ##data# . My question is: is it possible get MMS and Browser functional by just changing some of these settings? The sub-menus under "DATA" are: 1)Data set. 2) SMS 3) MMS 4)WAP Set. 5)AXCESS
Fields under MMS are: Retry number, Gateway, MMSC Center, User Agent, MMSC Post URL, Upload Address, MMSC Post CGI, Authorization.Mostly want to be able to send media, Browser would be nice but is of minor concern. Also..."Gateway" is currently set as: mms.alltel.com, but when I try to edit it only allows input of numeric characters?Can connect to BitPim but only able to access "Filesystem" section.

All the animtions on the rumor touch in opera mini 5 are extremely slow. and its slower at scrolling then 4.2. what is the reason for this? the phone does not have a slow prosessor

I sent a email to them, and they said to go to the LG website and it should pop up to update the phone...but all that came up was for tv's and stuff. Nothing cell related.I noticed they took the update firmware option off the VM version, verses the sprint version

I am hoping to get some help with a problem I am having with my Virgin Mobile LG Rumor 2.I have found a great website that will allow me to download programs directly to my phone that you cant get on Virgin Mobile's store (Go to http://www.getjar.com)Now, I have down loaded various programs for MSN and Facebook chatting, RSS Programs, however, it seems virgin mobile has restricted 3rd party access to the internet. The programs install fine, they run but as soon as they ask for access to the internet....the program comes to an abrupt halt.
I have heard that giving access through Bitpim is possible, however, bitpim does not fully support the Rumor 2 (see it as CDMA Other). Is there anyway to let 3rd party programs access to the internet on the LG Rumor 2? Is there any "secret access" to the phone that would allow me to change some type od settings?I like the Rumor 2 but am pulling my hair out trying to figure a way to let the programs access the net.

I've spent a few days here trying to track down info on encoding video for the Virgin LG Rumor Touch to no avail and have had a break through so I'd like to share what I know so the info is out there to google.. I'm a newby to trying to mess with my cell phones so If anyone has any other info to optimize and improve on this please post!
First of all you'll need FFmpegX or some equivalent program from there the rest was pretty simple. First of all yes, as you may have seen elsewhere you can use a 3gp set up as long as you change the audio settings to AAC but the video resolution is cr*p, but I just wasn't happy with that. So, after trying many of the user preset options on isky software trial I'd discovered that I could get mp4 video to play but was stuck with the watermark on it....but here's the catch.YOU HAVE TO ACCESS YOUR MP4 VIDEOS THROUGH THE TOOLS MENU IN ORDER FOR THE MP4's TO WORK.If you go through the Photo's and video page you'll get and error mesage and it won't read mp4 - I've tried repeatedly, thinking maybe it was just a random error after getting it to play through the back door this way.Now since I had the watermark on the iSkysoft conversion I thought what the heck - let's get open ffmegx and see what we can do.I started with a short video so as not to waste time - and I'll try to dumb this down as I'm kinda dumb when it comes to this stuff too.So first I loaded the ipod h.264 320w preset which I believe uses and h.264 codec if I'm not mistaken.
Under the video tab in the menu I then switched auto size to 4:3 which resets the video size to 320x240 which I believe is the proper size for the Rumor Touch.Then in the drop down menu I selected NTSC (29.97) because it was the horrible res on the 3gp that had me spending the last to days trying to find something better in the first place.Then under the video bitrate calculator on the left just use your cursor to hit "best" which will set the optimal bitrate for the new size.Also I'd be sure to check under the Audio tab menu to be sure that the drop down is set to AAC because that was a playback issue if it wasn't set correctly in iSkysoft - and you may want to reset the audio bit rate to at least 128 cause 96 is a bit low for most audiophiles..After that just hit encode and drop the new vid into the DCIM>100LGDCF folder on your SD card and then acces the video through MAIN MENU>TOOLS>MASS STORAGE>FILE MANAGER>DCIM>100LGCF and hit play!
The one caveat I have here that though I haven't tried to use this setting to encode conversion from Xvid yet I have not been able to get audio to encode from Xvid to ipod conversions in the past so this may or may not be something to be aware of.Figuring out how to get good vid on this thing has improved my happiness with it greatly...Now if someone can just figure out how hack past that da*m Virgin lock out so we can play music in the back ground and load a few games and apps !!!

I could not find a rubber cover/case. I bought the plastic hard rubber item that is fake paint that looks like rubber and scrapes off real easy. The plastic underneath is white so it looks like crap after a few weeks.

I've been trying to download ring tones and I will "NOT" pay $2.50 for a single ringtone from Virgin Mobile I'd rather stay with those the phone itself has already.
