Jul 17, 2010I could not find a rubber cover/case. I bought the plastic hard rubber item that is fake paint that looks like rubber and scrapes off real easy. The plastic underneath is white so it looks like crap after a few weeks.

Jun 21, 2010i have the rumor touch on virgin mobile, my problem is that in the predictive text mode it finds and adds words even though i dont want it too. this happened with the rumor 2 too, but the problem is you cant edit of delete these words.i was wondering if someone that has the rumor touch on sprint has a way to edit the dictionary and its just cut out of the virgin mobile rumor touch firmware (cause virgin mobile does it alot with thier software).

Jul 10, 2010I've spent a few days here trying to track down info on encoding video for the Virgin LG Rumor Touch to no avail and have had a break through so I'd like to share what I know so the info is out there to google.. I'm a newby to trying to mess with my cell phones so If anyone has any other info to optimize and improve on this please post!
First of all you'll need FFmpegX or some equivalent program from there the rest was pretty simple. First of all yes, as you may have seen elsewhere you can use a 3gp set up as long as you change the audio settings to AAC but the video resolution is cr*p, but I just wasn't happy with that. So, after trying many of the user preset options on isky software trial I'd discovered that I could get mp4 video to play but was stuck with the watermark on it....but here's the catch.YOU HAVE TO ACCESS YOUR MP4 VIDEOS THROUGH THE TOOLS MENU IN ORDER FOR THE MP4's TO WORK.If you go through the Photo's and video page you'll get and error mesage and it won't read mp4 - I've tried repeatedly, thinking maybe it was just a random error after getting it to play through the back door this way.Now since I had the watermark on the iSkysoft conversion I thought what the heck - let's get open ffmegx and see what we can do.I started with a short video so as not to waste time - and I'll try to dumb this down as I'm kinda dumb when it comes to this stuff too.So first I loaded the ipod h.264 320w preset which I believe uses and h.264 codec if I'm not mistaken.
Under the video tab in the menu I then switched auto size to 4:3 which resets the video size to 320x240 which I believe is the proper size for the Rumor Touch.Then in the drop down menu I selected NTSC (29.97) because it was the horrible res on the 3gp that had me spending the last to days trying to find something better in the first place.Then under the video bitrate calculator on the left just use your cursor to hit "best" which will set the optimal bitrate for the new size.Also I'd be sure to check under the Audio tab menu to be sure that the drop down is set to AAC because that was a playback issue if it wasn't set correctly in iSkysoft - and you may want to reset the audio bit rate to at least 128 cause 96 is a bit low for most audiophiles..After that just hit encode and drop the new vid into the DCIM>100LGDCF folder on your SD card and then acces the video through MAIN MENU>TOOLS>MASS STORAGE>FILE MANAGER>DCIM>100LGCF and hit play!
The one caveat I have here that though I haven't tried to use this setting to encode conversion from Xvid yet I have not been able to get audio to encode from Xvid to ipod conversions in the past so this may or may not be something to be aware of.Figuring out how to get good vid on this thing has improved my happiness with it greatly...Now if someone can just figure out how hack past that da*m Virgin lock out so we can play music in the back ground and load a few games and apps !!!

Apr 9, 2010After recently buying a new Milestone outright I'm looking to protect the hell out of it. I currently have purchased a hard case for the phone itself (seidio innocase) as well as a screen protector.Now the next thing that I am looking for is a good Vertical case/pouch.The thing is that it must be vertical and it must be open at the top (I don't want a cover at all.I want to be able to slide the phone in and out easily). I also must have a belt clip on it.I have found a few online, but for what reviews that I have read stated that they are hard to get the phone in and out of when the phone is naked (no case on it). Since I am planning to have the phone in a hard case at all times that particular case will not work for me.
I have seen the pDair case and it looks good, but $28 USD plus shipping (to Canada) I want to make sure that the phone (in a hard case) will fit in it. I havn’t found any reviews on it as of yet either.I know that the iphone & Nexus One are about the same size as the Milestone and wonder if anyone has tried any of those cases with success? As I am sure (especially for the iphone) that there is a wider selection of cases available.

Aug 13, 2010i still have the film on the back of my i4 (the one that it ships with) and I can't use the camera flash because of this film (all pictures are blue). I have a film on the front with cutouts for everything, I just need one for the back of the phone, that has a hole for the camera and flash. any recommendations ?

I used the Incipio Feather on my 3GS, and used the screen protector included. It was clear; I had no trouble applying it; it didn't feel "orange peely" - it basically worked fine.

Feb 28, 2010I had my LG Rumor(unflashed) plugged into uniCDMA to get my security code and I clicked "read all" and my phone's info showed up. I saw the phones ESN # and I clicked "write" (assuming it would just rewrite the original ESN) & it said ESN write failed followed by my phone restarting. Once I plugged it back in, my ESN, MEID, and other codes where zeroed out.Is there anyway to restore it, because my ESN is showing up as zeros in my phone's settings and I'm trying to activate it with cricket. Apr 24, 2010I am hoping to get some help with a problem I am having with my Virgin Mobile LG Rumor 2.I have found a great website that will allow me to download programs directly to my phone that you cant get on Virgin Mobile's store (Go to http://www.getjar.com)Now, I have down loaded various programs for MSN and Facebook chatting, RSS Programs, however, it seems virgin mobile has restricted 3rd party access to the internet. The programs install fine, they run but as soon as they ask for access to the internet....the program comes to an abrupt halt.
I have heard that giving access through Bitpim is possible, however, bitpim does not fully support the Rumor 2 (see it as CDMA Other). Is there anyway to let 3rd party programs access to the internet on the LG Rumor 2? Is there any "secret access" to the phone that would allow me to change some type od settings?I like the Rumor 2 but am pulling my hair out trying to figure a way to let the programs access the net.
