I really like the LGG4 double tap to wake feature but it doesn't seem to work with Nova Prime. Any 3rd party launchers that support double tap to wake? Maybe an app to add to Nova?
I went to my local at&t store over the weekend to check out the 950 and noticed it wouldn't wake with a double tap, I couldn't find it in the settings so I just figured the setting was buried somewhere but it was verified by 950 users on they're forum that its not in the new OS..
I received my phone back from repair today (lcd replace) and the double tap wake up is not working anymore. Yes, I have checked the settings, calibrated G-sensor, and did a factory reset as well. I've tried in multiple positions and it never wakes up. The weirdest thing is that double tap works when putting him to sleep on lock screen, but can't get it to wake up never.
I've found the double tap to wake up to be very sensitive when the phone is put in my pocket, the screen unlocks on its own and sometimes the flashlight gets toggled. I'm on the latest firmware. Are there others who face this issue as well?
Seems like it's too easy to turn it on in my pocket or in my wifes purse. It's a very big screen and touching it twice is pretty easy, accidentally speaking. I've checked everywhere, but I'm new to LG's skin.
At time i have to double tap 4-5 times before my Lumia 1020 reacts and wakes up. And it can be really slow. My previous Lumia 820 had no issues with this what so ever, it work up instantly and i never had to do multiple double taps.
It's actually completely useless like this (since it ain't double tap but sometimes tap'extravaganza).
I am running Lumia Black build 3051.40000.1345.10285
I have been experiencing some pretty bad battery life with my 1020. It was getting to the point that with moderate use it was in battery saver mode within 8 hours. I shut off many background tasks, turned off 2 of my 4 email addresses and did some testing. In standby mode the phone dropped from 69% to 55% in about a half hour after a restart. Exasperated I turned off Double Tap to Wake after noticing the 'drains battery' warning. I then charged the phone and went to sleep. Today, with similar usage as normal (about an hour of streaming music, 2 push email accounts, web browsing, texting, etc.) I made it 8 hours and only dropped 39%.
I've seen many people claim that enabling 'double tap to wake' will drain your battery faster. On the settings page where you enable this setting, Nokia even says "this reduces battery life". I tried to measure it myself. After doing a number of normal discharge cycles with the feature enabled, I did one with it disabled. I didn't change any other settings. I used the phone normally in both runs - very similar usage.
I found that disabling this setting produced no significant change in battery life. In both runs that I compared, my battery level was at about 20% after about 3 days. See the attached graphs for my results. The first graph is with the setting on. After just a little under 3 days it was very close to 20%. The second graph is with the setting off. After exactly 3 days it was a little above 20%. These results are not exactly the same but I don't think they're significantly different. Not as different as I was expecting.
Some launchers are not giving gmail notifications because of a security change in gmail. So far the ones I have seen being affected are Launcherpro, Go launcher and possibly ADW.
There are some mobile launchers in a back up file from my days of using a BB 8320.The launchers are no longer available from the respective web sites, for whatever reason. The mobile sites are still running, just the launchers are no longer offered. I have looked at various master list of mobile launchers and what I seek is not there either. So is there a way to extract these applications/modules out of my old back up files?
Google just updated the market and gave it a new name, the "Play Store". Now the little shortcut in Blurs launcher gives an error when you click on it (the one in the top right). It says that the "Application is not installed in your phone". Seems like the update broke the path/link.
I have a client that needs us to develop an app for them. We wanted to know if anyone has used SMS or Push messaging to wake up a device and request the device "report in" to our server.
Whenever I press the home button to open my iPhone I notice it will still say 3G and within a few seconds change to the wifi icon. Am I mistaken that wifi should stay running even when the phone is closed?
It's hard to have to constantly push the on/off button to wake the screen for notifications. Vibrate and a green blinking light aren't enough.
I want to be able to SEE notifications as they come in, so I know if I need to pick up the phone or not. I suspect the answer is download yet another app.
I know this may sound like a VERY very naive/dumb question but how does one turn off the phone (other than pulling the battery out!)?? Obviously I've pressed the power button but that does nothing. Is there some type of trick to this?? Also, how do you wake up/unlock it other than having to flip open the keyboard?? Sorry but this is my first non S60 phone.
I recently bought an iPhone 4S and in general it works great. However, my partner owns an iPhone 4, and when comparing the wakeup time defined as: * Leave the phone locked for around 30 seconds* Press the home or the lock/unlock button (it's irrelevant, this is not a mechanical issue)* Wait until the lock screen appears The one in the iPhone 4 seems to be shorter by around 0.5s. I know it is not much, but I find it a bit disappointing given that this is such a frequent operation. My only guess right now is that this is caused by: a) My particular iPhone 4S which is faultyb) All iPhone 4S are a bit slower to wake up, maybe due to the A5 or other hardware changes?
This has been an option on all my past Android phones, but my screen does not wake up when I receive a text. The notification sound and LED goes off, but that's it. Am I missing something?
I have a xperia Z2 cell phone. When my cell phone is in sleep mode and someone calls me by viber it does not ring and does not wake my phone up so when i wake it up , i have missed call.
I've noticed that there is quite a variance in the time it takes to wake the screen with knock on. Sometimes in a bright Room, it's instant. Other times, from a pocket or dark room, it can take 3 or more seconds.... Of it works at all without having to repeat.
I'm assuming it's a combo of the proximity/light sensor and/or the second screen waking...
Starting yesterday, my GS6 wont "wake up". This has happened twice now. I have only had the phone a week and haven't done anything to it, root, etc. The only way I can get it back is to press Power, Home Key and Volume Down at the same time to reset the device...not factory reset, but reset as in Power Down and restart.
My S5 used to show info when I waved my hand over the black screen, now nothing. I have tried looking for the air wake button, but it is not where I have read it should be. I do I turn this back on????
If I run my finger over my sleep wake button it makes a clicky type noise. I've seen this in other devices that use metal, just wanted to know if I was alone on this one!?
Not complaining, just wanting to see if this is normal. Thanks in advance!
