its been sitting on app 74/217 for about 90 minutes. The phone is not rooted. This cant be normal?? Im not sure what android update it is, but it came though to my phone in australia tonight...
I have a brand new Z5 Compact that cycles thru the Android is Optimizing Apps screen and then gets stuck on the Android is Updating screen.  I performed a Software Repair via Sony PC Companion. The Sony PC Companion said it completed the repair and to allow the phone to restart. It stated that it would take awhile to restart, but did not state how long. After restart the screen remained on a white splash screen. After about 3.5 hours, I performed a forced restart. This brought it back to the optimizing apps screens originally seen.
Have a Nexus 5 running the latest lollipop build that has been working properly for a while (Phone is a Google refurb from November 2014, replacing my original N5 that had battery issues; Warranty expired Feb 2015)4 days ago, it randomly rebooted and then got stuck on the "Optimizing apps" page on initial bootup - would never go past a certain app number.First tried wiping cache - which didn't complete even after 48 hours.
Next tried full wipe from recovery, which worked but then shutdowns still happened.Reflashed all stock images (Phone is stock, not rooted) last night - problem still exists with random shutdown - but I can always get past initial setup; shutdown problems happen a little while later during use.Wiping cache from recovery now gives a "Could not mount /cache/" error in recovery
that there's sector(s) on the eMMC that's borked. It's a 32GB phone - is there a way I can flag off a certain sector as "bad" and put the cache partition somewhere else? Also, replacing the eMMC chip if needed (I can find someone set up for BGA work). I considered doing a file check from Philz / TWRP, but since the issue persists after a full reflash/reformat I assume that it's not a software bug.
I have a Google Nexus 5, that has never been rooted.each time my phone is running out of battery (meaning nearly every day because I am using Waze, a GPS app, quite often), when Android is starting a message saying "Optimizing 1 of x.. apps" and this take a lot of time (sometimes more than 10 minutes). It happens since I upgraded to a previous version of Android but I don't remember which one as is it not the latest one. Now, my phone is running Android 5.1.1 build LMY48M.
i installed elementalx yesterday and it was working just fine. but this morning it wouldnt get past the "optimizing apps" screen. so i went into recovery mode and WIPED my phone.TWRP is what i use for custom recovery.i tried re-installing elementalx with stock/reccomended settings but i cant get it to work :/it now says NO OS INSTALLEd
Since 5.0.1 my phone has been rebooting randomly, numerous times throughout the day. I just downloaded 5.1 (hoping that it would fix the issue) and it still reboots but now every so often after it reboots, it will say "Android is Starting... Optimizing app # of #.
Got the Marshmallow update this morning, phones been good for about 14 hours and now all of a sudden while updating apps the phone re-started and has been re-starting ever since. It goes through boot-up screens to the "hand stitched" screen and then shows me a small message indicating it is optimizing 1 of 27 apps like it is doing an upgrade, it will sit on that for a few seconds and then the screen just goes black. After a couple minutes the process starts over again all by itself. It has been sitting here on my desk doing this for about 45 minutes now. Looks like I was able to experience Marshmallow for about a day, going to have to head back to the Nexus 6 (with no Marshmallow yet) and get a hold of Moto.
I have a nexus 5 that is less than a year old. Starting just 2 weeks ago my phone will turn itself off randomly. When I try to power it back it will either
1. keep looping through the google display(literally says google in white with black background then going completely black again) for a couples of times. or 2. Display google then shut it self off again. I have to power it back on again, and it may or may not do the same thing. or 3. start after one attempt.
For all cases after it starts it will say something like optimizing apps # out of # and I have to wait a couple of minutes for it to go through the process. The it will work normally after. On rare occasions it just starts normally doing anything weird. I've tried to take out the battery and putting it back in, didnt work.
Is there another way to optimize the volume level of the phone when listening to music. Seems that even though it's on maximum volume, it's not loud enough.
I just got my nexus 6p. Love the every bit of it but i hate it when every time i install new ROM and wipe dalvik. I need to wait like 5 to 10 min for optimizing app and it took out almost 10% of my battery each time. What can i do to make it faster?
I am trying to update my device after the 4G upgrade. When I first got it, i did not do a factory reset and it downloaded some apps but not all.I then did a factory reset and it shows all the apps to download, but it is not downloading. The apps are just stuck on "downloading."I left it on over night and no movement. I tried both WIFI, 3G, and 4G.I tried 2 more factory resets and nothing.I tried going to the market web page and click install on device.
I'm experiencing troubles with my new Lumia 950. During migration, a few apps installed, but still about 50 are pending and the download is stuck. Downloading the OS update is also stuck at 0%. The internet access is fine, I can browse web through IE.
My iPhone 4S will not download updates to my existing apps or new apps. Every attempt at downloading simply goes into a "waiting" status. I know it's not my network because my wife's 4S downloads apps no problem, as does my daughters iPod Touch. I have tried completely shutting my iPhone off and turning it back on. No luck. I've signed out of iTunes and back in. No luck.
Right now the only way I've been able to get updates and apps onto my phone is by syncing it, which is ridiculous. I don't understand why this suddenly started happening. I've had the phone since November with zero problems. I know it's not server traffic because my wife's downloads come in quickly on the same network. I haven't been able to download anything in several weeks now.
Today i tryed to download some of my iTunes purchased songs and they all stuck on waiting. So, I went to Appstore to try updating my apps and games, same story there. Tryed to hardreboot my iPhone (lock+home) with no luck, tryed to log out from my acc on iTunes and Appstore, still nothing. No other downloads like podcasts etc are running. I dont want to try restore. Also tryed on wifi and 3g, both wont work :( iPhone4 iOS5.0.1
I have a big problem with my Xperia Z3, I i am using lollipop 5.0.2 . It worked fine with no issue until yesterday when I restart my xperia z3 it just keep on restarting . I switched it off and the on again.
Now its stuck at” Android upgrading, starting apps” all the time and it keeps restarting. I have tried to soft –reset nothing is happening. I have reached at a level to lose everything in the phone especially my contacts by deciding to do a hard/factory reset but still I cant do that using volume up or down. I am totally stuck. How to get rid of this. I cant get into recovery mode coz nothing is happening when I press key combination.
today I installed the new android 6.0 factory image, rooted it (used the modified boot.img from the previous build) and installed supersu 2.52 and blu spark kernel. Everything good until i deleted some apps (gmail, webview, youtube and other NON CRITICAL apps, like I ALWAY DO SINCE KITKAT), then rebooted and my phone is stuck at the Google logo, not even the bootanimation shows up.. Tried to reflash the boot.img, wipe cache, wipe data, factory reset but nothing.. The only thing that worked is to reflash the factory image! What am I doing wrong? Happened 2 times in a row so something must be wrong.. Another thing, I can't access TWRP every time, sometimes it skips and boots directly..
Like others, I tried the software update, and then my phone constantly got stuck at the four little circles at start up. I followed some instructions I found on AndroidPit:
1. From a powered off state, press the Power button to start your Nexus 5. When you see the Google logo press and hold the Volume Down key and release when the device vibrates. 2. Use the volume keys to highlight Recovery Menu and press the Power button to select. This will bring you to a screen with an Android on its back. 3. Hold the Volume Up key for 5 secs then release and a new menu will appear. 4. First off, you can use the volume keys to select Wipe Cache Partition. This will cause your phone to restart. once this is done, re-do the previous steps to get back to the same screen (the one that Wipe Cache Partition was on). 5. Highlight Wipe Data/Factory Reset and select using the Power key. Scroll down to Yes, Delete All Data and press the Power button again to select. 6. Your Nexus 5 will now wipe your data and reformat. 7. On the next screen hit the Power button to select Reboot System Now.
It has been 40 minutes now and it's stuck on 'Formatting /data'. Is this normal?
I've only had this phone for a couple of months and it was functioning perfectly until now I haven't rooted it or anything.
I just got a replacement iphone and restored it from a backup, however, upon trying to sync it again, the 'sync apps' checkbox is not checked. I can see my apps that are greyed out but as soon as I check the box to sync the apps, they all disappear! I haven't synced it since for fear of having to start over every time.
I would like to have all of my phone apps in one place (home computer), When I switched from laptop to desktop the phone apps in itunes didn't migrate to the new computer. I try to sync the phone to the desktop all of the old apps that are on the laptop are deleted and vice versa.
bb 8520 won't download apps from the bb apps store. I have the latest software and have cleared the cache but when I download apps all I get is this app is unavailable?
