IPone : Have To Erase Everything On My Itouch And Iphone Just To Sync It With My New Computer??
Jun 9, 2012
I recently purchased a new windows laptop, i have a 3GS and itouch 4 generation. I installed itunes onto my new HP laptop and i connected my itouch first to transfer my purhcases. But i thought after authorizing the itunes would make it to where i didnt have to erase it when i hook it up to the new computer. Friends and family memebers of mine have itunes and apple devices too and they mentioned that they didn't have to erase either their ipod, iphone, or ipad when they hook up to a different computer. MIne however, says " this ipod/iphone can only be synced with one computer at a time" and it gives me the options to : cancel, erase and sync, and transfer purchases. Now i already transferred my music and most of my apps onto my new laptop. BUT, im worried about my iphone losing all of its contacts. If anyone can help me mess with the sync settings to where i can back up my ipod and iphone data onto my new laptop that would be great!
Everytime I connect my Itouch 4 into the computer, my apps stop working. Neither of em' load. I have to Re-download them in order to work. This has never happened to me before, it just recently started occurring.
I bought an 3g about 1 years ago from a friend in Malaysia. My friend bought it from the Maxis (carrier same like AT&T and Verizon). I knew that AT&T is now unlocking out of contract iPhone. What about mine?
When I erase all content and reset my phone to factory standards it doesn't erase my contacts. Help I want to give it to someone else and obviously don't want my contacts in phone
My original computer died, and I don't have a phyical back up of my data. If I try to sync the device to a new computer will I lose everything currently on my phone? If so, is there a way around this?
So I am brand new to the Iphone/Ipod world. I have a friend who upgraded to the 3g phone a few months ago. He recently gave me his original iphone as a thank you for some things I helped him with. What should I do to get the phone to work as an ITouch? It wants me to insert a sim or connect to itunes. What are the steps to get this to work, any help is greatly appreciated, I am totally lost.
I know that iTouch will utilizes email for facetime. My question is will it require me to put 4.1 on my JB iPhone to use that feature to facetime with my son when he gets his new iTouch. Was not sure if the ability to facetime with email account is only accessible if you have 4.1 loaded on the device or I if it can be done with my current FW.
Are iTouch-compatible alarm clock radios generally compatible with iPhones? but i was just wondering. A Coby clock radio I'm considering says it's compatible with the latest iTouch, I know some other clocks do indicate if they work with iPhones too, and it may sound like a silly question, but I wanted to know if it works with the indication or not.
I'm trying to convert my old iphone 3 to an itouch and it won't connect to my wifi. I've rebooted. I've taken out the sim card and put in airplane mode. I've tried in regular mode (with and with out the sim card).
I want my apps on my iPhone and Itouch separated from when i sync them on my iTunes, so apps won't download on the other device.Any way that i can stop this? I synced all of my music/apps etc onto my itunes library. when i plugged my iphone in, the apps immediately started to download (theres about 40 or so)So then i just got rid of apps that were on the library (i have 5 on my iphone atm)
From left to right, this is what it looks like when I try to download an app.If I press install it just turns blue Its like this on all the apps Updating and resetting didn't work. Its been like this since Saturday.
I backed up my iphone 4s with my itouch because I wasn't aware that it would delete all the stuff on my phone. Is there any way to get those things back.
I previously had an iTouch (3rd generation - 32 GB), now I have a new iPhone 4S. During the beginning of the setup process in iTunes, after registering the new iPhone with APPLE, when I am asked to set it up as new iPhone, or to restore it from my previous iTouch backup, which do I choose? It isn't clear to me, and I can't find the answer anywhere. If I choose to set it up as a new iPhone, will I lose all my apps and all my previous settings (and start over)? My computer is a MacBook laptop.
I had the Fingerprint passcode on my iPhone and did some updates online on the mac with my device connected. After the phone my phone restarted its self from the updates its requiring a PASSWORD not the finger print but I didn't have a password on my phone only the touch password. What can I do to resolve this issue?
My IPhone 4s was working properly and will NOT sync to my PC using Windows 7 or Windows XP, Latest version of ITunes Available, and everything updated. I updated my IPhone to the latest version of IOS available yesterday, and now it will not Sync. Nothing else has changed but the update was made yesterday, I have turned my phone off and on a couple of times, tried turning the WiFi on and off, restarted my computer, tried 3 USB Cables, but nothing. I have two screen shots attached of progress bar and error message received. Sync Session Fails to Start?
