unlocked my phone 2 weeks ago before i went out on a trip to hk.. everything was working properly.. then when i got to hk, no wifi at all.. i thought its just the sim card since i was only just prepaid.. then i got back to canada, no wifi at all.. can't see any connection even at my house..my version is 3.1.2

I can only use the wifi if i go to settings>connectivity>wlan. If i go straight to internet, it tries to connect to t-mobile internet. This also happens when trying to use applications such as bbc iplayer and the ovi store.
Is there a way of setting the wifi connection as the default connection? If not, is there a way of setting up my applications so they connect using wifi?

So how would I show the Apple Geniuses my wifi problem without having my iphone jailbroken/unlocked. Since I am not on att, I cannot restore and activate the phone without jailbreaking it. How would I show them my wifi problem if all I have is the "Connect to iTunes to activate" screen? Or should I just take it in "hacktivated"/jailbroken?
View 16 Replies View RelatedI accidentally dropped my iPhone 4 in a toilet the other day. I dried it out and everything works except for the wifi connection. I went to go to connect to wifi and not a single network showed up so I typed in the wifi name and password and it said it couldn't locate it. I used the wifi connection in my house while I was in in my house. I have also tried restoring it but that didn't work. Is there any way to fix this or can I send it in to get it fixed?

Downloaded JB day of release. Since that day, have to reconnect iphone to my Wifi Network each time I pick the phone back up. Same thing seems to be happening with our un-jailbroken iPad yet our regular laptops have no issue. Just wondering if anyone else is having similar problems or am I victim to Comcast yet again?

Updated three phones, one ipod, and two ipads, after the 5.1.1 update I am unable to connect to my wifi. Keeps saying wrong password. Both laptops connect with the password so why isn't the apple products. All have been hard reset, restored to new and still no luck. Have reset network connections more times than I can count.

I just bought my iPhone 4S for AT&T today, and as I came home I connected to my home Wi-Fi (I just had the iPhone 4 for Verzion a couple days ago and it was working fine in my house), I connected, and it worked, but my Wi-Fi randomly cuts off now. For example, I'm connected to Wi-Fi, but I open an app, a second later it'll go back to the 4G sign and then back to the Wi-Fi symbol within a few seconds. It's very on and off, every 20-30 seconds it does this. Why does my phone keep disconnecting then reconnecting to my Wi-Fi?

My wifi used to work just fine but hasn't been working very well this past month to now. Any wifi I connect to has no signal in some spots, but high signal in other spots. I have had my Iphone 5 for around 16 months and the internet connection; whether it be by WIFI or 3G has always worked perfectly; until now.I know it can't be my router at home, as I have the same problem if I'm at work and it also affects the 3G.
My phone will have full WIFI signal but will stop connecting to any websites or give me internet access. If I turn the phone OFF and then ON again, it fixes the problem for around 15mins or so, and then revert back to the same problem of not connecting.I have tried resetting the network settings and reset to factory settings, but neither do any good.

I have recently added a Netgear WN2000RPT range extender to my home network and now have a good signal all round my house. The network is used by several pcs and phones but my iPhone 4 will not connect to the extender. Previously it worked fine with just the router (also Netgear), and two other iphones (a 3 and a 4) do connect ok. I haven't changed anything on my phone. I have reset router, extender and restored the phone, changed security settings back and forth. The phone sees the signals from both router and extender but won't connect to either. The 'timer wheel' goes round and round like it's trying to connect but never does. If I turn off 3G the phone connects to the network but only for a few seconds
