IPhone 4s :: IOS 6.1.1 / Email Inbox Showing Over 1,000 Messages In Inbox But In Fact There Is Only Few
Aug 21, 2014My Iphone4 email inbox is showing there is over 1,000 messages in the inbox but in fact there is only a few and email on my pc shows correctly. I cannot get the phone to show me the correct number of messages. Apart from this problem all email related things are working correctly.
I use Thunderbird.

Feb 22, 2010I use a Nokia N900. I have successfully connected the phone to my email provider using IMAP4/SSL. I can view incoming email notifications, and send new messages. I can also browse the content of all folders, except for the "inbox" folder.The way my provider (Rackspace.com) sets up the email account, all folders reside under the "inbox" folder. It appears that the N900's email application does not recognize the "inbox" folder as location which contains both sub folders and messages; when I try to open the "inbox" and list messages, the application briefly shows the busy indicator, but then nothing happens (it does not show the folder content). I can successfully view the content of any other folder (which does not have sub folders), it's just the "inbox" which is giving me problems.Is there a solution to this problem?

Sep 5, 2010I was trying to sort my inbox messages according to contacts to view old messages, however a notification that said "operation failed" appeared.
After that, I tried to open my inbox again too, but the same error occured. Whenever I try to open my inbox, the loading sign will appear, then the notification pops up again.
Even after I restarted my phone and etc, the problem still persists.

Mar 15, 2010I've just bought a Nokia 5800 handset recently. It seems to me that even though I actually saved a contact's number in my phone, when he messages me the phone inbox only shows his number and not his name, even though I already saved his number under my phonebook.
Is there anyway to solve this such that it'll display his name instead? Its kind of pointless if I have to keep checking back to my phonebook to see who has messaged me, since I don't remember my friend's numbers and stuff.
On a note I saved all of my friend's number without the region number. That is as im living in Singapore, a contact's number would be saved as follows: 91234567 without the region code of +65. Thing is in my inbox all the phone number displayed shows the region code of +65 along with the number, but seriously even my super old phone can recognise that both 91234567 and +6591234567 are of the same person and displays the name correctly in the inbox.

Jan 5, 2010So I set up my gmail account via the BIS or whatever plug-in, and all seems to be working ok. The problem is that the emails go straight to my general "Messages" inbox, but nothing shows up in my Gmail account inbox when i click on that specific icon. I do have SMS/MMS broken out into a separate inbox, but i'd like to use the gmail inbox where it threads messages with the same topic instead of the general messages inbox.tried resending service books.

Mar 18, 2010I don't know why this happened, I woke up this morning and it was like this. Whenever I try to open my email inbox the SMS inbox opens. Even if I go directly to my individual accounts on my BB (yahoo and gmail) and try to open them directly, it still opens my SMS inbox. I can't figure this out and can't find an answer. I have to check all my emails my going onto a computer. I still get notifications of new emails on my BB, but can't view them because only the SMS inbox will come up. I need my email inbox to show when I click on my email inbox.

Apr 1, 2012Do not upgrade to IOS5 if you want your peripheral devices to work. I did it thinking it would improve my customer experience and can now no longer use my USB to connect to my car Bose system or any other device. It is clearly about the yupgrade to IOS5 as any 4S phone that I try that has not been upgraded works fine. Apple TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY for the problems and have suggested I resolve it thought Bose and Ford and every other third party supplier. BE WARNED YOU CAN NOT ROLL BACK TO THE PREVIOUS OPERATING SYSTEM once you have upgraded even if you factory reset. I not have $25,000 worth of peripheral devices that will not work and no support form apple what so ever.

Jun 12, 2012I bought my iphone 4 over a year ago from EBay. It's locked to 02 network I have never had any problems with it & it works fine but I have never been able to update it to any latest versions. It's just stuck on 4.1 and each time I try to update it on iTunes it does something for ages and then a message comes up saying your device could not be updated.

May 31, 2012The Sony PC Companion has started showing that an update is available for my xperia pro as soon as i connect it. I happily selected the update option and on the first attempt it downloaded the update which took more than 10 mins in my case. Then it reboots the phone in the flash mode i believe and when it's time to install the update, simply comes out with an error that no update is available for your phone.
