I have an iPhone 4S that was working fine until today, I can call, but person i'm calling can't hear me nor can i hear them, can't even hear if the call is ringing or not, nor can i receive calls, nor can i make or receive text messages.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have only had my iPhone 4S since march, so only just over 3 months, and i have problems with it now. I can't call anyone or recieve a call from anyone, and i can't send or recieve texts. I have tried the sim in another phone and it works, and i have tried restoring my phone to factory settings and i still have the same problems. This is not what i expect from a £500 phone. I imagine another top of the range phone like the Samsung Galaxy S 3 wont get these problems after only a few months of light usage.

I have an Iphone 4s and i can not call or text some of my contacts. When i try to calll i get told "The number dialed is incorrect" yet i can recieve a call from this person but can not return the call and texts fail. I think it may be connected with contacts where I have several numbers under one contact but its not all of them that fail.

I have an iPhone 4s and lately it does not always ring for calls or texts. The ringer switch is turned on and volume is up. When I test it from my house phone it always works! It does received the calls and texts and records messages, but it doesn't alert me to them coming in. I am missing a lot of calls! Just yesterday my Iphone started deleting my contact information once I call or text someone. The number stays on the phone but all of the other information saved with the contact (including their name) disappears. Im using a 4S latest IOS. I have a Sony Xperia Z3 on the T-Mobile network and as of two months ago now, I have been unable to call or text my girlfriend. She has an iPhone 5 also on the T-Mobile network.
When the problem began, we had been texting for half of the day and she suddenly stopped receiving my texts.
Now the texts show as delivered on my end, but she never gets them and when I try calling it goes straight to voice-mail. She can receive texts and calls from everyone else, while I can also text and call anyone besides her.
We went through both our phones and I'm most definitely not on her blocked list. Tried restarting and re-adding each others numbers but nothing happens.
My iPhone freezes randomly every few minutes, especially when I try to do something, sometimes by itself as well, don't know why, it's been like that since last night, I never dropped it or anything of the sort so it really can't be a consequence of anything I did to it... How can I stop it? Should I reset it or something?

Is there a way to stop email and text notifications when I am on a phone call? I have a long email alert and message tone, and when I'm on a call and they go off, it's so loud and long I can't hear who I'm talking to. They can't hear the alert but it goes on for so long they waffle on and I miss a lot of conversation. Why is this not automatically disabled or set to silent when taking a call?

A friend showed me that while a text message window is open, I can tap the screen near the time, and an option will come up which allows me to call that contact. My daughter and I both have iPhone 4s's, but for some reason, when I tap the screen near the time while texting her, the option to call her does NOT appear. The only choices are "Email, Contact Info and Load Earlier Messages". I have deleted her contact info and recreated it, and it still is the same.

My iphone 4 suddenly died last night even though it said it had about 40% power. When I plug it in, it turns back on but will not connect to anything (no internet, and I can't call or text). As soon as I unlpug it, it turns off, and sometimes when it is plugged in it either says it has 0% or 100% charge. After about 60 seconds of being plugged in it turns off and restarts. It won't start up fully when I plug it into my computer, it just shows the Apple symbol before shutting off again. I am thinking this is a hardware issue. Is it possible that the battery is so drained (since it won't hold charge), even when it is plugged in, that it doesn't even have the power to connect to the internet or call or anything? I have had this phone for about 1.5 years.Â
Important note: I had it fixed about 2-3 weeks ago when the whole front piece of the phone was shattered when it was run over by a car, lol. Even in that state, the phone continued to vibrate when recieving calls, and when the front piece and home button were replaced everything was working except for the camera. Maybe some internal damage is just now catching up to the phone?
