Aug 20, 2014Is there a way to just send an SMS, instead of an iMessage for a particular text? My friend uses iMessage on his Mac for most of our conversations, but has an android phone so every time he is away from his computer I have to disable iMessgae on my phone for a moment so I can respond to him. Every time he uses his computer, my phone defaults his contact back to iMessage. I'm not even sort of quick enough to press and hold the bubble and choose to send as SMS before the message is delivered because it's SUPER fast. Is there any way to just choose how to send each message? I've read that you can hold down the send button for 5 seconds and it will ask you how you want to send it, but that doesn't work on my 5.

Dec 3, 2014I Am unable to delete single text messages on my iPhone 5. The trash can does not appear at the bottom of the screen like it should. I can restart my iPhone and it will work, but just that one time. Also having an issue with sticky keyboard it isn't typing as I hit the keys there is a major delay, but this doesn't happen all the time it's hit or miss

May 2, 2012When I send a text from work to my wife from my iphone 4 she receives an email on her iphone 3GS and her ipad 2 from <my phone number>@media messaging.o2.co.uk. The email says 'Here's a picture message you've been sent from <my phone number>. The message has no other content even though it is indicated that there is an attachment.
Is this a problem with my network provider or are there some settings which need changing?

Dec 10, 2014When I delete an individual text message, the text goes but then the time and date that message was received remains on the summary screen - not in the conversation thread but on the screen where all your messages are. Example - I sent a text at 8:30 this morning. The last text sent before that was at 9:30 the previous night. So I deleted the text from this morning and the text went but on the front screen it has last nights text against this mornings time and date.

Galaxy S5 :: Receiving Several Texts For One Large Message?
Apr 9, 2015For example when I receive texts that are larger than normal, it shows 1/5, 2/5, 3/5, 4/5, and 5/5 sometimes more sometimes less. It's aggravating cause when you should be receiving one message, you receive several texts. And they are usually out of order so you gotta go back and forth. I am on U.S. Cellular and have a galaxy s5. My friend has a s4 on U.S. Cellular also and hers doesn't do this. I think it did this for me also on the s4 and now on the s5. Maybe I'm just missing a setting?

No problems the first week but now I am constantly getting a message saying application memory low, asking me to delete the one application (facebook) that I have installed on my phone. I have a 4gb memory card and everything is stored to that not the phone. so when i click no, it deletes my texts which is very inconvenient seeing as how I do alot of my work from my phone via text with my boss. it deletes my texts even if i only have 10 on my phone... it deletes the messages and leaves the blank message box. How to keep it from deleting my texts I changed the setting to keep the messages forever but it still deletes them. I am ready to throw my phone out the window!

Nov 15, 2010My Vivaz no longer alerts me when I get a text, there is no sound or vibration, it is not on silent mode and I've checked in my message settings the volume and that a sound is supposed to play when a text arrives. The envelope that used to show at the top of the screen when I received a text no longer appears either. The only way to know if i've got a new message is to go into my inbox where it appears; the side of the phone will then flash but still no sound. I ran a software update, then a reset and software update, but neither have made any difference.

Jun 28, 2012I have 2 year old 3GS, and for the past few days I've had a constant problem of the phone having a signal, then losing it and searching, then saying No Service, then searching, finding the signal and then repeating the whole thing over and over. Sometimes when it says no service, I manually have to go into settings, turn on airplane mode, and turn it off again to force it to search again. What typically happens is I will send a text, get a reply, go to reply and my signal will have gone. My 3G will come and go also however this doesn't happen with WIFI. The biggest problem I am having however is that yesterday my phone locked up, went to the apple logo and stayed there for over 10 minutes, I forced a restart but it said "Activation needed" when I swiped this it said "Connect to iTunes", iTunes says it can't read the data on the phone. I then put the phone into recovery mode and did a restore to 5.1.1, obviously losing all the photos I'd taken since my last back up and wiping my entire phone. As I felt the phone was being dodgy I didn't do a restore from my backup and just put a few contacts in. Today during a constant back and forth texting session my phone was repeatedly losing connection and coming back. It has just locked, gone to the apple logo and it says "Activation needed".
