IPhone :: Prevent Message Showing On Screen In IMessage?
Jul 2, 2012
When an iMessage comes in [on new 4s] the screen shows the entire body of the message. It seems the option to not show message and just show the sender is no longer available in Settings-iMessage.how to change this?
I would like to know how I can turn off iPhone's iMessage system and just send regular text messages to other iPhone users. Here's why.On two separate occassions I have missed a date with the same guy because we would send each other messages, and get no reply. Why? Because the iPhone appears to choose to send it as an iMessage. But because one or the other isn't connected to a wireless port at the time it doesn't go through.so we're both waiting for the other to reply and it never happens. So we assume the other is asleep, phone died, whatever and plans are automatically cancelled. We take the train home and then iMessage floods both of our phones with 30 minutes worth of texts.
I would like to have the ability to send a text as a text message, and only send an iMessage when I choose it to be the wiser of two methods of sending a text.iMessage is not my preffered method of sending a text because it doesn't work as well.It does a terrible job of letting me know when it can't send and it utilizes wifi which is less abundant than the network I'm on.Moreover I have unlimited texts with my plan.So I don't understand the point of a phone automatically trying to send texts through wifi when it doesn't work as well, inadvertantly cancels my date twice, and leaves me bitter and ALONE at home again. So do I have an option to just send texts as regular texts? Or is this a new feature that I can't control?
when I send a picture message to someone with an iPhone 4s who doesn't have wi fi on, the message goes as a text message. This is fine for normal text messages but pictures are expensive to send. Is there any way to set it so it sends normal text messages if the receiver has no wi fi but never sends picture messages as text?
When I receive a text message from a friend A, I cannot see, which device this friend texted me from. When I then hit reply, I dont know whether this message will be charged for (sending it to a mobile phone) or free (sending it to an apple ID). This is especially an issue with international texts. Is it possible to have the device shown below the name, they same way it works in "Recent" tab for phone calls? There I can see, whether the person called from their mobile phone, their home phone, via face time.I know, I could just start a new message and pick the receipient manually, or create two separate contacts with a hint in the first name field (e.g. "Apple ID) but that is not as convenient as to just reply to an exiting message.
This problem started today. All singular imessages are not responding in this way, so far only the group. After researching I have done the following so far and nothing is working.
1. Turn off/on the phone.
2. Checked for updates. (none)
3. Reset the factory settings.
4. Cleared and re-entered icloud name/password.
5. Turned off/on "group messaging", "mms", AND "sms" just to be sure.
6. Made sure "send/receive" has both icloud and cell number.
I just came home from an international trip and am wondering if some settings or restrictions may be limiting the group messages.
This is only happening when I'm texting someone using iMessage - it'll say that they sent their message as a text message, but then a few minutes later I'll get their exact same message again, but this time as an iMessage - it's happened with multiple people - it says I'm still in iMessage "mode" but they're in text message mode and then i'll often receive the same message again - this has only started happening recently, and it doesn't happen every time but it happens often and I'm not sure why- has this happened to anyone else?
I've just upgraded my phone and the message icon is showing and when I go to messages the inbox has '(1)' next to it, but on opening inbox there are no unread messages. Where is this phantom message and how can I get at it / delete it?
When i send messages using iMessage on mac to an apple iphone, it shows that message was received from my email address not from my number. Is there a way to show that messages are received by the mobile number not by apple ID?
I have the iPhone 3GS which has iMessage. The past few days when I go out of the house and without the wifi, I noticed that if another iMessage user sends me a iMessage, i don't get it.I have the cellular data on and the sms option on as well. Today for example, I was receiving and sending out iMessages to one of my contacts and it was working perfectly. However, another contact of mine with iMessage tried sending me at least 3 iMessages and I never received them until hours after. Im not sure why Im able to receive and send iMessages to one contact, but not the other without being connected to the wifi.
I turned my phone on and it comes up with a white screen with the above message. I have tried taking the battery out but just comes back up with that message. When I try and connect my handset to desktop manager it states that it can't find device. I have tried to reset following instructions on here for the apploader but it wont work and comes up with the following ' The Blackberry Desktop software does not have blackberry device software for the device that you have connected to the computer'.
My Bold is showing a white screen with no error message. Looks like LCD failure. Tried reloading software but did no difference. Started showing white display randomly, and comming back to normal. Now is permanent.Still is under 1 year manufacturer warranty. How can I get RIM to provide support under warranty. Who should I contact or call.?
EXAMPLE: I have an existing text message thread with a specific recipient that I want to keep undisturbed. I then want to send a brand new unrelated text message to the same recipient using the + (New message) icon at the upper right corner of the screen.he new text message invariably is appended to the bottom of the old thread, unrelated to the subject matter of the new text message that I want to send.
Today I turned on my Storm 2 and saw what I assume is a BB Message icon under the date on home screen; it's solid blue, and on left shows "1". Opening message folders shows nothing. Scanning all folders, having turned off hide, still nothing i.e. no red asterisk. Image of screen can be seen here. [URL]
After upgrading to Gingerbread I noticed that when I go to the recent apps screen and I try to open Tweetdeck (seems to be the only app that does this) I get a "Application is not installed on phone" error message. Which makes no sense because it's running in the background and opens fine. I've cleared my cache and uninstalled and reinstalled TD and still get the error. Assuming this is a bug, but it seems weird to only happen for a specific app.
My message app will only send out text. It won't send out in iMessage. My send button is green instead of blue. All my settings are good. iMessage is on wifi is fine.
Why is my iMessage on my iPhone and iPad not working good? My Internet and signals are good but when I send a iMessage to other ppl with iMessage it doesn't go through. It sends it as a text message. Sometimes it will work but most times it won't.
When I send a message to other iPhones it just says "Sending" and nothing goes through.Â
Under Messages>Send&Recieve my phone number is there but not checked off and there is no way to select it. My email IS there and checked, so my messages are only going through to other iPads.Â
just set up iMessage on my iMac. Both my wife and i have iphone4s. I can imessage from imac to my iphone. can not imessage to my wife from the imac - i get a message "name is not available for imessage". i can imessage from my 4s to her 4s I must be missing something in the setup of her account.
I am traveling in Europe for the weekend and want to be able to use iMessage to text a friend back home for free, but the only thing that pops up when I hit the message app is Text Message.
both my partner and i have recently purchased an iphone4, when messaging each other some appear in BLUE bubbles and some in GREEN bubbles, why does it change from imessage to text message during the same conversation if we are both registered to imessage services?
If I have my internet/data turned off and iMessage turned on but I have "send as SMS" turned off and my friend who has an iPhone sends me a message and I receive it as a text message, do I get charged? Does she get charged?
How do i prevent the screen of nokia n97 to rotate and get to portrait mode when there is incoming call and during call?i on the rotation sensor so that when the phone goes horizontal the screen rotate horizontal and when it goes vertical the screen rotate vertical but screen doesn't automatically return to portrait mode if it was in landscape mode when there is an incoming call. And when i take the phone vertically to slide and answer at the same time screen trying to rotate to portrait mode and the touch screen or the phone can just freeze making me not to be able to answer the call.Is there a way to fix this issues? i've missed a lot of incoming call because of this issue. Was nokia trying to imitate the iPhone making the rotation sensor? then they should make it better by providing updates for it cause it's very irritating. Main while anyone know how to get this solve?
