Apr 6, 2012I am not able to reply to any iMessages or start a conversation with ONLY one of my contacts who is using the iPod iOS 5 system... However I am able to receive messages from him. I have tried everything from restoring my phone multiple times to deleting and re creating a new iCloud account ... Is there something that I'm missing?

Apr 19, 2012My wife is on a school trip to the US. Meanwhile, I am at home in Canada. I am texting her, but I found it odd she never replies and vice versa. So, she discovered that her iPhone (latest iOS 5 release) keeps trying to send the message as an iMessage. It is not reverting to SMS after a given time, as it should and as I have seen it do before. I have tried it now also and my wife only receives my messages when she has a wifi connection (she does not have data roaming enabled). It seems like my iPhone too continously tries to send the message as an iMessage and it does not switch to SMS after a certain timeout time. The message that the iPhone continously tries to send as an iMessage never fails, however the status does not change until the next time my wife is in wifi coverage and the message is delivered.

Dec 2, 2010I recently canceled my blackberry phone and I was syncing my email @me.com with the mobile email account @mobileemail.vodafone.com.au . Anyone who sends me an email to my @me.com account are getting a return email stating that I have not received it on my blackberry device. I've checked out my @me.com settings and its not forwarded from there, and I cannot login to the BIS carriers website due to the cancellation (and i forget the password)I called the carrier yesterday and they said it was still active and they deleted the account. Its been 12 hours since then, should I be waiting longer or is there another simple fix I overlooked? As I sent a test email and received it again.

Jun 24, 2010I'm having a problem with Skype on my N900 (PR1.2).
The vast majority of my Skype contacts are fine. I can Skype Instant Message them with no problem.
However, there are a couple where when I try and send an IM, I get the message:
messaging_fi_unable_to_deliver_message_contact_unauthorized
I have tried removing the contact (from both my and the remote contact's Skype), and I've readded from my N900 and asked for authorization, and its been accepted, but I still get the error message when I try and IM.
When the remote contact IMs me the message never turns up, but they don't get an error message.
I've also tried it the other way around, where we delete the contacts on each other's Skype, and then the remote contact has asked for authorization, and I've accepted on the N900 - but still the same message.
The remote user us on Windows 7, using Skype 4.2.0.169. It has worked previously, but all of a sudden, it stopped for no obvious reason. This is happening with two of my contacts, who are in two different locations on different versions of Windows. Oddly, Skype voice calls work okay!
I can IM all my other Skype contacts no problem.

Apr 12, 2012This is only happening when I'm texting someone using iMessage - it'll say that they sent their message as a text message, but then a few minutes later I'll get their exact same message again, but this time as an iMessage - it's happened with multiple people - it says I'm still in iMessage "mode" but they're in text message mode and then i'll often receive the same message again - this has only started happening recently, and it doesn't happen every time but it happens often and I'm not sure why- has this happened to anyone else?

May 14, 2012I updated to iOS 5.1.1 today, and ever since my iMessages will send, say they're delivered and the display the exclamation point and the delivery failure notification. Now the weird thing is that sometimes the person I send to actually does recieve the imessage, and then I'll still see the delivery failure notification and below it "read at ....". I also use messages beta for os X, and this stopped working altogether.
I have restared messages on mac I have restarted my mac. I have restarted my iPhone. I have restarted the messages app on my iPhone. I have turned iMessages on and off. I have restored my iPhone. I'm really out of moves and getting desperate.

Jun 16, 2012so for the past few months my iphone hasnt been recieving texts from people who dont have iphones via the iMessage texts. I dont know if i changed a setting or something on my account was screwed up or if its just my phone but if i text someone without an iphone or if they text me none of the messages get through. Is there a simple fix like a factory reset or is it hopeless?

I'm now in cyprus connected to a wireless connection from which I'm sending this yet when I try and send an iMessage from iMessage in flight mode to be sure 100% that I am not getting charged it fails. May 17, 2012I would like to know how I can turn off iPhone's iMessage system and just send regular text messages to other iPhone users.Here's why.On two separate occassions I have missed a date with the same guy because we would send each other messages, and get no reply. Why? Because the iPhone appears to choose to send it as an iMessage.But because one or the other isn't connected to a wireless port at the time it doesn't go through.so we're both waiting for the other to reply and it never happens.So we assume the other is asleep, phone died, whatever and plans are automatically cancelled.We take the train home and then iMessage floods both of our phones with 30 minutes worth of texts.
I would like to have the ability to send a text as a text message, and only send an iMessage when I choose it to be the wiser of two methods of sending a text.iMessage is not my preffered method of sending a text because it doesn't work as well.It does a terrible job of letting me know when it can't send and it utilizes wifi which is less abundant than the network I'm on.Moreover I have unlimited texts with my plan.So I don't understand the point of a phone automatically trying to send texts through wifi when it doesn't work as well,inadvertantly cancels my date twice, and leaves me bitter and ALONE at home again.So do I have an option to just send texts as regular texts? Or is this a new feature that I can't control?

When I then hit reply, I dont know whether this message will be charged for (sending it to a mobile phone) or free (sending it to an apple ID). This is especially an issue with international texts. Is it possible to have the device shown below the name, they same way it works in "Recent" tab for phone calls? There I can see, whether the person called from their mobile phone, their home phone, via face time.I know, I could just start a new message and pick the receipient manually, or create two separate contacts with a hint in the first name field (e.g. "Apple ID) but that is not as convenient as to just reply to an exiting message.

Not Receiving Message Notifications On IPhone Since Syncing MacBook With IMessage?
Jun 20, 2014I recently got a new Macbook and I synced it to my iCloud and iMessage accounts with both my apple ID and my phone number. I got the notification that it was signed into on my Mac and I just confirmed it. I have been able to receive messages on both my Mac and my iPhone, but now I am not receiving any kind of notification on my phone that any messages are being received. I tried logging out of iMessage on my computer and still no luck. How I can fix this so that I can receive message notifications on my iPhone again?
