I have an iphone I would really like to use. It has been sitting for about a year. The previous user did not give us her icloud password and her account was not removed from the phone before she left the organization. I would really love to reset the phone and reuse it, but I do not know the password.
I need to restore the backup to my iphone 3gs but the password associated with my Apple ID. It says the password I entered is not correct. Should i be putting in my Apple ID password or would it be a different password to unlock the backup.

I Have another iPhone that I need to restore so I could give it to my mother but I don't know my iCloud password and it requires that to restore it and also every time I try to reset my password, I don't recieve the email and I don't know the answer to my security answers
I need to restore a iPhone that we are no longer using. The trouble is we cannot remember the password for this old device and Find My Phone is turned ON the device. In order to restore the device, Find My Phone has to be OFF but in order to turn it off, you have to know the password. Vicious cycle!
I have downloaded a new version of iOS. And now trying to restore all of the information from the backup from itunes and it wants an encrypted password. I have never created a password for back up and I don't know what to do!!! my phone is dead now!
I've just updated my iPhone and trying to restore from iTunes back up. iTunes is asking me for a password...I can't remember what it is? Any way I can find out?
I was at a Genius Bar earlier today and they gave me a replacement iPhone 4. I had my laptop with me to transfer everything over and the guy working commented that I shouldn't use data encryption on the backup, so I said fine and he deactivated the option. I believe it was at this point that I was asked to enter the password, which I did. After a long time processing, there was an error message at the end. I wish I could remember what it said, but the guy said it should be fine. He wiped my phone I was returning, and then we set about to restore my new phone from the backup. Only problem is now iTunes doesn't recognize the password from my encrypted backup (this is the only one available). I don't know if something was corrupted during the attempt to deactivate encryption, or if this could be something else? I am positive I know the password—I entered it earlier in the process, and besides, it's the same as my passcode.
I was basically ushered out of the store because the guy said he didn't know what else to do. He just muttered some stuff about third party programs which Apple doesn't support which could retrieve data from a backup. I asked how those could possibly work on an encrypted backup and he didn't seem to have an answer.
I have restored my phone settings and now trying to restore apps & music from Itunes on my computer but is asking for my backup password. I tried my password that I have always used when getting new apps, etc. but that didn't work. I'm loss as to what to do.. I can't even use my phone at this moment because there is nothing on it..
Shortly after I got the iPhone 4, one of the IT guys at work setup the site secure Wifi for me as well as configured VPN so I could get email remotely. This weekend I dropped the phone and had to get it replaced. When I restored all my stored passwords were gone (though everything else restored beautifully).
That IT guy is now gone, is there any way at all to restore these passwords from a stored backup?
I have a blackberry bold 9780. I backup all data before I wipe it. After that, I wiped and restored all data. Unfortunely, the password keeper can not be restored.
I recently upgraded from 8830 to Curve 8530 using Device switch wizard. The third party applications were transferred to the new device but I had to manually restore the Address Book. However, I'm unable to restore the Memo Pad and Password Keeper as both the files are greyed out on the Desktop side of the Desktop Manager Window.I need help in getting both the Applications as I have lots of data stored in them.
I changed my password on my curve, and I couldn't remember it and I got it wrong 10 times. It then said wiping and it wiped all my data. Luckily, I had a backup, however it wasn't very recent so I have lost a few contacts, but more importantly, all of my pictures. Is there any way at all that I can get them back?
I switched iphones today with a friend of mine. I made sure that I had backed up everything to my computer AND iCloud before doing the trade. Did it, everything set up fine. Restored through iTunes and then turned on. I still had my email, texts, call logs, contacts and notes. But all my apps and songs are gone. How do i get them back?
I'm planning to restore my iPhone while updating to iOS 4 since I've bee using the same old backup for 3 years or so now, installed a bunch of thing etc... so I want to start from scratch.
The only thing I don't want to lose are my SMS.I also don't want to jailbreak my iPhone. What are the solution to backup only my SMS (so not regular iTunes backup) and then restore that only to my freshly installed iOS4?
I inadvertently backed up my iPod Touch 3G which ended up being a blessing because it actually died due to water damage. When I get my new iP4 I want to restore from that iPod Touch backup because it has many apps I use for studying including the settings which I definitely need. Is there a way to restore just the apps? How would/could I restore at least the one app with data that I really need?
