I have a gmail account and email is currently being synced from my outlook to my iphone, but sent messages from my iphone are not being synced to my outlook. Do I need to enter an IMAP path prefix?
View 2 RepliesI have a N97 and have set up my IMAP email and all works ok, the only problem I have is that I can't find where to set up the sent mail folders. Currently I have to copy myself in on emails and have set up a rule in outlook to move these to the sent items folder. There must be a way of syncing the sent mail folders?? Can anyone help please.

View 24 Replies View RelatedUpgrade to IOS 5.1 deleted all my received email on my iPhone and iTunes doesn't backup email. I can fix that just by resending all the messages from PC email client so nothing actually lost in this case.
However, my immediate issue is that I don't see a Mail option anywhere when I go into Settings. My previous mail account is still there and does actually send A forward from iCloud also works so it looks like I can receive at that previous mail account on the iPhone. But how do I get to a screen that will allow me to add/delete/modify mail accounts?

My mail on my iPhone was set up fine as POP, I used my Mac to get mail and only the iPhone if I was away without the Mac, so it only downloaded email not received on the Mac yet. I had to change my password with my provider (Virgin Media) and my mail account on my iPhone wouldn't recognise it even though it was correct so I deleted the account to set it up again. However, it won't give me the option of POP, only IMAP and now it keeps downloading hundreds of old emails. I just want to go back to POP! I've seen sites which show how to set up a mail account and they say "now choose POP or IMAP" but my set up never gives me that choice, it just takes my settings, verifies them and sets it up as IMAP.

i would like to know, how it works with subfolders in imap and Mail app.Â
I created few subfolders in delivery post in outlook on my pc. When i recieve an email, outlook sort it to its folder and everything is ok. But when i refresh my email in Mail app, there is no mail... Only mails which stays in delivery post folder.Â
How can i set this to work? Must i have use another email app that can do it?Â

So my gmail address list or contacts seems to have been hacked and all my contacts who are still talking to me have told me so.So I changed my gmail password.No more complaints, and probably no more friends as contacts.Â
But seriously, I have been able to get gmail (web) working with my new double authentication password(s). Also, my outlook for MAC is working using the special "generated App Password". (because Outlook cannot do the double authentication thingie)Ditto for the gmail app from google on my iPhone. (it works too).BUT I cannot get the iPhone Mail App to connect to Gmail.
I have deleted (i thought) my existing gmail setup from my iPhone. When I try to re establish the gmail settings, using either the password generated by the MAC / iCloud keychain generator or the App password, I get the message "My Name" is already added.
It looks to me that there is something in the iPhone that matches my gmail address, even though I deleted the account.Â

Is there any way to add folders to mail on my Iphone. I need to be able to keep some of my mail for awhile and it seem that I end up accidently deleting it or it disappears from my phone. I would like to move the mail I need to keep to a different folder so that this doesn't happen

I have an iPhone 5 and I use the mail application quite a lot, and I also like to sort my mail into folders after I have read it. I know how to create a new folder, but I don't know how to delete an old folder (I've been using the same email account for a few years now and a lot of my folders are organised into friends from my old school who I don't keep in touch with anymore). If I tap on an older folder and click delete, it just states there and doesn't delete.how to delete a folder.

I have mail in numerous (75+) folders on my Lotus Notes. In setting up Lotus Notes Traveler on my phone, I notice that my inbox looks fine but that none of the mail shows up in those folders. Can someone please tell me:
(1) Do I need to go into each folder and refresh it?
(2) If so, will that mail then always appear, and then it will only need to sync the new messages when I enter that folder?
(3) If I turn push on for each folder (75+ folders) I am assuming I will kill my battery life. Anyone that can validate that point?

I bought an E7 two weeks ago and use the embedded mail programme with:
- Mail for Exchange Client (Job account)
- IMAP G-Mail (Personal account)
- IMAP GMX.net (Personal account)
Everything worked fine for one week, then my second IMAP-account (GMX) stopped syncing. In my browser I can see that there are unread messages in the account but the E7 does not download them.
I have just got my Galaxy SII and i am trying to access my imap account on the virgin server. I have set up the account but when I try to synchronise, the samsung seems to go into a loop and although it says it is synchronising it justs runs for hours without any end result. There are quite a lot of e-mails on the server but they are all labelled as read except for the most recent dozen so I hope that the phone is not trying to download them all.

I am using a Nokia N97 with the v21 firmware. I am connecting to a mail server via IMAP, using the phone's mail client (not mail for exchange). This has previously worked perfectly, however now I cannot update my inbox and view the emails. When I try to update the inbox, I get a dialogue box that says "Website has sent an untrusted certificate". After choosing "allow permanently", the inbox does not update. The message comes up every time I try to update (even when I've previously chosen "allow permanently".
I can however successfully send emails via the SMTP server using the phone (IMAP for sending is restricted, so have to use SMTP). Does anyone have any ideas on why this is happening, and how I can solve it? I've also contacted the IT guys for the mail server, as I'm not sure whether the problem lies with the mail server or the phone, or both.
I need to set up an imap account for ssl which worked fine on my D3. On the RAZR, the only setting I see is for tsl, how can I select ssl?

Just got the M8 (online pictures don't do the Verizon red version justice, btw!) and noticed a ton of spam in my main inbox, including dated from before moving phones. When looking around, I noticed I have no separate spam/bulk folder in the stock app like my last phone. It appears those emails are being retrieved from the server, but inserted into the phone's general inbox.

View 4 Replies View RelatedBackground - 3 mail accounts set up, not via Nokia mail, but with direct server definitions; they are all for the same ISP, different ID's and passwords for inbound server, same ID and password for outbound server.I have noticed that if there is nothing thing in the in-basket for a given account the folders (inbox, Drafts, sent;outbox) do not appear in the dropdown - even though I know there are items in the "sent" folder.The moment something comes into the inbox - they re-appear - and the expected items are in the "sent" folder once again.Weird - and inconvenient, since it means you cannot access sent items if your inbox is empty.

Mail for Android" but then I have two apps for yahoo mail, how do I disable/uninstall the seeded app so I can correctly identify "unread" mails which is not possible when the seeded app is still running.

iTunes gets stuck, while this doesn't happen if I connect it with the cable to my work PC (Windows).
Clicking "Finder" the iPhone is not visible in the list of hardware connected.Â
