May 24, 2012I purchased the 4S solely for safety of using Siri while driving. The normal response is that it does not understand my request. Or I am cut off in mid sentence. "Call Beth Cell" is not a long request. Nor is "Call Karen Work". Yet, Siri can't respond. Windows are up, air conditioner is quiet, radio is off. I have tried using the Apple headphones that came with the phone, tried without. No difference.
Last week I spent the entire 45 minute drive home working with Siri to call my wife to let her know I was on my way home.
Siri is hellbent not to operate properly. And I wasted my $200 to go to 4S.
Btw, tilt back doesn't work sine latest up date 5.1.1. Where you bring the phone to your ear at home screen, so I must hold the button!

Jun 24, 2014I have the impression that perhaps everyone has their very own, personal iPhone. But in our case, my wife and I share one (so far) that we just received. Reading up on Siri, I gather I (John) am suppose to introduce myself to Siri, tell Siri my wife's name, and get Siri to recognize my voice. But can my wife tell this same Siri who her husband is? Will Siri learn to recognize her voice? Or will all this overwhelm Siri?

When I ask Siri to call Lesley I am asked which one I want to call being given the options of Lesley or Lesley India. If I state just Lesley then Siri asks me the same question i.e. Lesley or Lesley India. My old iPhone 3GS could work this out fine but Siri can't!

Jun 5, 2012I can't imagine this hasn't been asked before, but I looked around and couldn't find the answer. I have an iTunes playlist that includes an internet audio stream. It works fine in the playlist on iTunes (on my laptop), but when I sync the playlist to my iPhone (4s) it ignores the internet audio stream. Is there any way to get an internet audio stream to be part of a playlist on an iPhone? I know there are apps that will do this, but I'm trying to get it to work within the "music" app on the iPhone so it integrates with my runkeeper app, which uses playlists.

When I synced the two with my usb cable, I lost my "Recently Added" and my "Recently Played" playlists on my iPhone. When I sync, I sync everything, not specific playlists. Both playlists remain in my playlist section of iTunes. To further troubleshoot the problem, I synced my old (but still loved) 80GB iPod Classic. Aug 17, 2010On my previous iPods and iPhone, I've always used live updating smart playlists to keep my music fresh.
By adding the simple rule to not include anything played in the last "x" number of days, any song played would disappear from the playlist. In other words, once you play it, it no longer fits the requirement for the playlist, so it drops off, creating a continuously updating, self-contained playlist. I just noticed that my iPhone 4 no longer does this. The playlists do not update until they are synced in iTunes.
