I have an iPhone 4S. Long ago, I experimented with the "genius" feature on an ipad to see whether I could find useful apps. (Answer: Not really.) But this caused the Genius feature to add a "Genius" playlist to my iPhone. This playlist does not appear in iTunes, only on the phone, and I can't remove it. If I click on it, it says "choose a song to create a Genius Playlist", so I guess maybe it's not ACTUALLY a playlist, just a button. But the net result is, if the iPhone has just been turned on and I connect it to something, it plays random junk rather than any of my playlists. So is there any way to make that "feature" go away? Yes, I have already turned off Genius and Match.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have tried syncing my phone to my computer before but it deleted any song and playlist that wasn't in the iTunes on my computer. I sometimes will buy a song on my phone and I don't want to have to look up every song I have bought on my phone to go through and download it on my computer. Also I would like to not have to recreate playlist on my computer.

I have an iPhone 4 32GB on AT&T. I have about 20,000 songs in my iTunes Match library. iTunes Match was extremely slow for iOS 5 and 5.0.1 and it has significantly improved in iOS 5.1. However, it's still laggy a lot of the time. Much better than before (where it would freeze for 10-20 seconds at a time), but there's still a delay of 1-4 seconds when I press on a navigation button sometimes. I also still get my share of Music app crashes.
Just wondering if there are other suggestions, and mostly wondering if Apple continues to work on efficiency enhancements (including for the 4 not just the 4S).

I have iTunes Match on my on my computer but not on my iPhone(it cant be enabled). When I sync music, I do it by playlists. All the music syncs but not the actual playlist? I have tried taking the playlists out of iCloud by adding a video clip but to no avail.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI wasn't sure if I should post this under iPhone or iTunes so forgive me if this is in the wrong place. Basically, there are discrepancies between my iTunes library and what's on my iPhone. Yes, everything is checked and I know how to sync. I also understand all the nuances of artist names, genres, etc. It appears that all of the music is there, but it doesn't all show up when sorting my artist, song or album. Here are 2 examples:
I have 2 Amy Winehouse records in my iTunes library; Back to Black and Lioness. Both records are also on my iPhone. However, when I pull the list of records by ARTIST only Lioness shows up. To find Back to Black, I have to sort by ALBUM and then I can find it. I have 4 Norah Jones records in my library; Come Away with Me, The Fall, Little Broken Hearts and Not Too Late. All records are also on my iPhone. However, when I sort by ARTIST only 3 of the records appear (the Fall is missing). If I sort by ALBUM, it is there.
These are 2 examples, but there are several more. This is very annoying because I can't always remember the name of records but I do remember the artist, of course. I have tried re-syncing. I have looked very carefully at the artist name to make sure they all appear EXACTLY the same...they do. No spaces, nothing.
The past few months I've gotten warnings from AT&T that I was near or exceeding my data plan limits when I never did before. After a lot of testing it seems that on my iPhone, iTunes Match still downloads data—megabytes worth—even if I have the "download over 3g" setting turned off. I've had to turn off iTunes Match on my iPhone totally and rely on "old-fashioned" syncing unless I want to upgrade to the bigger data plans, which I'm not going to do. Sigh! Anyone else notice this? The behavior persists over several erase-and-restores of the phone.

I have an itunes match account which is currently uploading. It says that I can access the music by switching the on button in settings. I have two accounts with apple and have switched over to one and I think the phone is set for the account that does not have itunes match. Any ideas on how to rectify this so I can access my icloud library via itunes match.

I was wondering if anyone has a solution to this...I was having issues initially with my iPhone not recognizing that I had iTunes match enabled, so I re-enabled it on my Mac. When I went to enable it under Settings->Music, it allowed me to switch on "Enable iTunes Match", but then the option immidiately disappeared (See screenshot). iTunes Match is currently not running on my phone and I cannot get the option to enable/disable it to populate whatsoever. I've tried soft reseting multiple times (Holding down the home+power button for 10 seconds) with no avail.

View 10 Replies View RelatedUS Apple Employee took my Japan iPhone, tried to unlock my iPhone by installing an app called "unlockit.co.nz", put my AT&T sim card in, read FAILED, and said it didn't work. He reassured me that my Japan iPhone will still work when I go back there, but I have no reassurance now. Did they mess up my iPhone and not taking responsiblity for it? Do Apple employees typically install sketchy 3rd party unlock apps that change APNs?
I went into the Apple Store today with both my US iPhone 4 (16 GB Black) and my Japan iPhone 4 (16 GB Black). My US iPhone was having issues with its bluetooth and home button is sticking a lot. He couldn't replace it since it was out of warranty and suggested that I find a 3rd party repair shop or look on Craigslist.
My Japan iPhone 4 is still under warranty and suffers from one spot on the screen being exceptionally bright. He said he could replace my Japan iPhone with a US AT&T iPhone. I told him, I'm not sure if that would be smart since my Japanese Softbank SIM card may not work anymore in an AT&T iPhone. He explained to me how unlocking works and said he can easily set it up for me. He took my Japanese iPhone, went to some site, installed a program, did a few things, and took my AT&T SIM Card out and put it into my " newly unlocked" Japan iPhone. The phone kept saying SIM Failed and he restarted it, and it still didn't work. He put my AT&T SIM card back into my US iPhone and thankfully, it still read my SIM Card.
He offered to exchange my Japan iPhone for a US iPhone 4, and suggested that I call AT&T to have them unlock my phone for me. He said they would do it, if I was out of contract with AT&T, but I wasn't, so I went home back at status quo, or so I thought.
I looked at my Japan iPhone again, and noticed that there was an app called, "unlockit.co.nz". It opens up Safari and pulls up something called APN Changer. Upon closer inspection, it's the same app/site the Apple Tech pulled up when I was at the store. I'm a bit leary about odd apps, especially apps that originated from the domain co.nz. I googled the site and looked it up, and it seems a bit odd.
Now, I don't know what this program exactly does, but I'm a bit annoyed that I don't know what app the Apple Employee installed and what it exactly did. I have no assurance that my Japan iPhone will work in Japan now after he installed this app and did something. Is it the Apple policy to go and install 3rd party apps? Will my Japan iPhone still be good when I go back or am I going to land in Japan and spend the first few hours at an Apple store trying to get my phone replaced/fixed?

When I start the Media Sync program on my XP machine I immediately get a pop up that says the program has encountered an error and needs to close. It is the most recent version. This problem seems to not to be affected by whether or not Media Sync is started alone or through the Desktop manager.
However, the program opens, and acts like it is running anyway. (Just ignore the pop up.) A week ago, it was seeing my iTunes library and I could use it to put music from a playlist onto my Tour. Now, however, it does not see the iTunes library/playlist. It says it my library contains no songs. Sometimes, multiple attempts to start it it, it will see them, but then I cannot click the boxes that allow me to choose the playlist to sync them to the BB.
I fell in love with ‘Corby’ at first sight because of its unique and refreshing color. I’ve used it for a week now and quite satisfied. Putting all things aside, I enjoy the stare of passers-by when I take out the phone. They will comment on the design and compliment the phone. I bought a yellow one which stands out dramatically in contrast to the black handset.
A few features that are different from existing touch screen phones. First, you can do zooming with only one finger. If you place your finger on the image and move it up and down, the zooming changes. Another feature I find really convenient is the access to Facebook and Twitter with widget. I had envied friends with iPhone because they could do Twitter anywhere and anytime. Well, now I can use Twitter 24-7!.......
I set up my user Id on my Iphone 2 years ago but 12 months ago I changed ISP and I cannot change the old user ID on my Iphone to my new email address and cannot remember the old password. I have tried Settings>Store but only the new email address appears. If I try updates on my apps it asks for my old Id password and that is where I get stuck, If I go to appleid.apple com it also only tells me that I have only the new user ID. This problem seems to be within the Iphone software, do I have to do a backup and restore to factory defaults and if so are there any problems I may incur?
