I followed the unlocked instruction from AT&T to restore my 3GS iPhone from factory settings. After completing restoring, follow the steps to set up the phone and stuck at activation screen. I inserted AT&T SIM card and connected to iTune but still failed to activate with following error message on iTune: "There is no SIM card installed in the iphone you are attempting to activate. Please disconnect and insert a SIM card in the iPhone." I have retry several times (including disconnect and reinsert the sim) but no luck.
after dropping my Iphone 4 on the floor it can't connect to my PC, the error i am getting in Itunes is "Itunes was not able to establish connection to this iphone, caused by unknown error 0xE8000001". Itunes suggest to go into an applestore and get it solved but since third party has replaced the screen will apple not touch it....I have tred to uninstall itunes after closing down a few apple files via "task manager" and hard restored the Iphone but the phone will not acctivate, only get to the screen saying "connect to itunes". when i plug in a fully functional USB cable in a fully functional USB plug in my PC (windows 7, 64bit) does the phone connect and disconnect with the PC a few times, sometimes it keep on connecting/disconnecting but when the phone able to establish connection do i get a box saying "error 0xE8000001" and when clicking on the phone can i see its charging the battery but no possibilities to make a firmware restore or anything els. (have only the option to "eject" the iphone). is it possible to go one more step back than "hard restore" so the phone need to reinstall all hardware ect ect?
Error Message: iTunes could not back up the iPhone because an error occurred. The thing is - I have no idea what error have I encountered! Usually, I would assume the previous backup file is corrupted and I will proceed to delete the old backups. I did the same this time round, and it's still unable to sync. Now I have no more backup files!I have tried -
1. Deleting old backup files.
2. Restarting iPhone 4S & iMAC.
3. Remove
I am using iOS 5.1 on iPhone 4S, and iTunes 10.6.1 on Mac OSX Lion. My phone is not jail-broken in the first place.
Info: iMAC 27", Mac OS X (10.6.4), 3.06GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
i restored my iphone4 to factory settings because it was running slow and some apps werent working. My phone is now stuck in repair mode and is continually rebooting itself. I know the usual solution would be to restore via itunes but itunes will not allow me to do anything as i get the error "itunes cannot find disk"
I've got a 16GB 3GS running iOS 4.0 and all of a sudden today the phone refuses to back up. iTunes is giving me the error "iTunes cannot back up the iphone because an error occurred."
It continues to sync after that and move apps and music around, but it won't back up. I tried again after that and it wouldn't sync calendars, contacts, notes, etc. Whats going on here?By the way this is on a Macbook with the newest updates for Snow Leapord and iTunes.
I wonder is buying music on iTunes is a bad idea because of the format issue. I can buy a album in iTunes but then Im stuck with it in itunes format unless I do some extra research on a converter.
This seems retarded when I can buy a album on CD baby and get it as an immediate mp3 download that I can easily move to the iPhone threw iTunes but then also place it on my wifes Centro.
Is there any reasons why a person would buy from iTunes versus some where else?
There is this 2G iPhone that is (almost?) bricked.
As far as I know, the phone did work until recently, was not dropped, but suddenly got stuck at this screen:
The owner is not computer savvy, and is unsure whether the firmware has been updated (by chance or not).
Right now the phone is stuck at the "Restore needed" screen. What have I done so far: Put it in DFU, iTunes finds is, and tells me it needs to be restored; I have downloaded the 1.1.4, 2.2, and 3.1.2 firmwares for the 2G; I have tried to SHIFT+RESTORE many times, and every single time it ends up giving me error 23.
I tried all of the above-mentioned firmwares, have tried with iTunes 9.0.3, 8.2 and 7.5 MANY times - with the same result: Error 23.
There is something interesting: when I tap the "i" on the screen, it shows a windows that says: IMEI: Unknown, and ICCID: Unknown
I have searched online for a whole day now, and people say that this is related to a hardware problem with the modem; others said that it could be fixed by flashing w/ older firmware and older iTunes version - both of which I have tried.
So bottom line is that after all I have tried I am still nowhere. And ideas what else I could try?
My iPhone is jb on 3.1.2 and I have the latest version of iTunes (9.1.1.12) and for some reason it will take forever to backup or it won't transfer any of my apps from my iPhone. The hard drive on my laptop was damaged so I had to have it replaced along with the re-installation of vista so my songs, pics, etc were transfered except for any program which could not be done. Ibtried to use iTunes 9.0.1 but it said some new file was installed by a newer version of iTunes so it would not open, i tried rebooting my phone, iTunes, and even the laptop but it does not help, I have tried googling it and searching here on the forums and found no answer. So what can I do to fix it, I need a working backup and I need my apps or else I have download about 105 apps which will be annoying and long. I think I heard something about the newest iTunes which I have does not allow jb iPhones to sync.
I am trying restore my iPhone 4 (CDMA) because I couldn't remember my passcode and I did upgrade to 5.1. Every time I try to restore, it stops at restoring firmware and errors out "iPhone 'iPhone' could not be restored. Unknown error occured (1)." I have tried reinstalling iTunes, unplugging all USB devices, restarting my computer, a different USB port, a different computer, and entering DFU. But none of these worked.
I am having problems with my iPhone. I am try to restore it to 5.1 and on the screen where it says "Waiting for iPhone", the screen will just show iTunes error 9. I already tried to uninstall (All Apple products on my Windows --- in order) and re-install iTunes (with PC restart) and I am still getting the same error.
Since 3 days I try to restore my iphone 4s in itunes but it does not work. It started with the problem that I did not get connection to the mobile net..... so I tried to restore it in itunes 10.6.1 with firmware 5.1.I followed all advices (no firewall, no virus detection, change hosts)
I recently have set up my new iphone and everything was working fine until i set up my ituens account. I can access the app store and itunes but when I try to download any app (free or paid) I get a message saying "cannot connect to itunes."
I continue to get an error message without a specific error code when trying to sync and update my iPhone 4S (5.1) to iTunes (10.6.1). This started after an Apple Techincian had me restore the iPhone because I was having WiFi issues, which continued even after the fact. This is a replacement iPhone 4S. My original 4S had battery issues and had to be replaced. Unbeknownst to me, Apple replaces with refurbished iPhones, a practice I do not agree with. I experienced the WiFi dropping from the get-go with the replacement/refurbished iPhone 4S, but hung in there hoping it was just a fluke. It appears this iPhone 4S will need to be replaced.
Back to the issue at hand. I have removed all backups from iTunes. Of course now I have no backups stored on iTunes or iCloud.I have run Disk Utilities to repair permissions. I have reset the iPhone. I tried to restore it, but it will not restore since it cannot backup current data. I have made sure all OS software is updated. I have made sure permissions are unlocked in Backup folder on my HD.
We just got our 3Gs's last weekend. This morning I checked some mail and came back to it a few minutes later.
All of sudden it would no longer power on. I know the battery was about 50% when I checked email. The phone has not been jailbroken.
Hooked it up to the PC (windows 7) and Itunes said it was in restore mode which I have no idea what this really is. Itunes said to go ahead an restore the phone.
I let Itunes start the process, but then Itunes gave an error code 28. I have no idea what this means. The phone has been flawless until this point.
Tried to reset my iphone and stupid me got caught in the deadly loop. Now I am trying to restore back to 3.1.3 and getting the not eligible error. Tried to redirect itunes to cydia per zollotech tutorial but not working.
After upgrade an iPhone 4 to os 5.1, I can't restore the backup : while restore I get the error iTunes could not restore the iphone because an error occurred -1. I tried to reset the iPhone, but it restores alwayds whit os 5 and not 4. Each time I connect the iPhone, il runs un recovery mode, but recovery fails with error -1.
I'm getting the "iphone could be synced because the sync session failed to start" I have read the previous posts on this subject, which have been focussed on beta versions. This is a new problem I'm having.I've updated to the latest iTunes offered to my MBP running 10.6.8. My itunes is 10.6.1 (7) and my iphone is 5.1 ith no updates avail. I thought it may be due to not having enough free space on the iphone so I'm deleting many photos and voicemails, memos, etc, but deleting them is not working. I wanted to sync/back them up and then delete.
I have been trying to connect to the itunes store for the first time since upgrading my iphone software to IOS 5.1.1 and am getting the error : Cannot Connect to the iTunes Store.
