My friends has been trying to charge his iPhone 4 however when he plugs it to the wall (using the white USB cable charger that came with the phone), he gets a message "device not suitable for charging" (something like that). It just started doing this yesterday. He shut down his phone and rebooted and still the issue remains. He also tried another cord and the same thing.
View 1 RepliesHere what I done since the begging of the problem: when I first use, everything was ok (at least to me). One day without remembering to disconnect the device from Windows XP Sp2, I disconnected the USB cable to aswer a call (it was in mass storage mode).
After that don't remember exactly how but a few minutes laters after reboot the n900 some widgets disappeared from desktop. So I added them one more time but they won't come to desktop... I repeated many times the adding and after that the N900 gone crazy. Some applications still works but others didn't show the icon program on the menu, only the name under the icon appear, and when i tried to execute one of them the screen returned to desktop with all the widgets that first didn't show and the device reboot alone.
So I decided to flash and I followed every single step (that I found in a thread wrote by adamf) to flash maemo on N900 and I did it. But when I try to erase mass memory, the dots on the N900 screen stopped move and in the DOS windows there was: "suitable USB device not found, waiting". The N900 seems freezed. After 30 minutes I disconnected the USB cable and turned ON the device and it is OK. Well, all data is still there. Do I need to reset mass memory to erase the programs downloaded from the application catalogues? Flashing maemo doesn't do that?
Tried two times but the same thing happens and I quitted. I started to use the device and it works fine but I can't install some applications that first I had installed, like bounce evolution, APP widget, facebook widget (impossible installing error). But forecast weather and other widgets works... I can't understand why. Tried also other flasher like Global (first I have intalled Middle East) but I have the same error...
The one I played with in the store yesterday didn't have prongs for a pod. Anyone else bummed that the Torch doesn't have charging prongs on it for use in a pod?

A couple of accessories kind of just went down the toilet. So I did a little searching and couldn't find anything, but do you guys have any idea which cable the new iPhone will use? It would be very convenient for me if it used the iPad cable as that would give me a second one without having to go out and buy it separately.

Sometimes I would get an inverted yellow triangle with the message that the device di not support charging, but it would still charge. Now for some reason it gives the message and really won't charge. I have bought a dock to see if it was the wall charger but although the dock works fine when connected by usb to the laptop, I still can't charge when connected to the wall charger. It is an intermittent problem so I don't think it has anything to do with a dirty connector.

I am looking for a similar solution for the 6710 Navigator which also has the power inlet jack on the top. So far I can not find any such solution for this phone. Anyone have any solution for this?No good solution to have the charging cable come in on the top. Cannot see that Nokia has bothered to care about this problem.

To get my feet wet, I thought I'd try a calculator. I put the .jar file on the top-level dir of the uSD card and waxed optimistic as the phone's Java App mgr found and installed it. With the recent Honeycomb updates to allow for USB hubs, Keyboards, Mice, gamepads, etc, has any of them been updated in order to take advantage of this. And even more has anyone who uses any of these seen if they can handle running your games properly from a remote location? I ask because I think it would be fun to be able to run some of my Steam games over a buddy's house on my Xoom without having to pack up my laptop but I am not sure if the programs can keep up. I know that there is software capable of doing such (Onlive [I realize this is a subscription service and different context]) but was wondering if we can accomplish this on our own yet via one of the many programs in the Market.

View 24 Replies View RelatedThe phone doesnt stay on. Unless the charger is in the phone, it says, "battery drain, now shutting down". I've bought a new battery and that doesnt change it. Sometimes I play around with the phone and the battery is not low battery and works until I take the battery out of the phone. Then it just goes to low battery again. I dont know what needs to be changed or what needs to be done.
View 7 Replies View Relatedi have collected probably 15 different chargers the last couple of years that I use at various locations to charge my Blackberry, iPhone, and a couple of Samsung Google Nexus Phones. That is every device other than the BlackBerry Bold 9900 and the Torch before that. I get the familiar message "the charging source connected to your blackberry device cannot charge your battery", except when connected to RIM manufactured charger or fortunately the USB port on my laptop. How in the world can every phone other than RIM's Blackberry take a charge from the various power sources without problem. I had the problem to some degree on the Torch, but figured RIM would catch on and get it fixed. Now I have the new Bold 9900 and it does not even work on my trusted 12V car charger. If 4 or 5 different devices work with multiple chargers and the Bold 9900 does not work on any it has to be a RIM and BLACKBERRY problem.Maybe the guys in Waterloo are just totally insulated from the rest of the world and only own BlackBerry phones with Blackberry chargers and believe there is not a problem. At least it appear that way with this charger issue and several other issues, but I won't get deeper into that here?

The first notification when I place the phone on the charger I'm fine with. It's the ones throughout the night that wake me. I've read when it's up to charge and trickling back down, or getting hot and pausing charges is why this happens. The only solution I found is rooting, which I rather not do until Knox isn't tripped.

Everything was working fine up until Saturday, charging 1 minute then the next nothing, tried wall charger, car charger and also through the computer...nothing . This is the message the phone displays "The charging source connected to your Blackberry device cannot charge your battery."
The lightning icon is there but the battery level does not increase.I cant downgrade the OS since the computer doesnot recognize the device, I constantly get an error message. "Usb device has malfunctioned."
When I connect through USB port to recharge, I get a message on the blackberry that says something to the effect: "The device you are connected to is not capable of charging your battery." I am able to charge by connecting directly to the 115 V AC plug but not via computer.

They both have a charge light that stays on when charging and goes off when charging is complete. I've notice that with the Icon the light never goes out when the phone is fully charged. When I charge my 822 the light goes out when it's fully charged.
