I receive the message and my phone acts like I have one, but all the words are gone. And this sender is the person I text and talk the most to. I pulled the battery and that didn't help.

However, when I send an email from my iPhone it correctly shows my gmail address as the sender.
I have only recently started using my new iPhone which was set up by synchronisation with my Mac OSX version 10 9 4
How I can show my name as the sender of Messages.

I reset my email account manager to "do not forward messages to device" and I stopped getting them. Is there a way I can check for new messages only when I want to?

Aug 3, 2010All my new emails coming in using exchange come in with no sender. It is only until I read my email from my computer does it know who the sender is. I am unable to reply to any email. Jan 11, 2010I got this problem after i upgrade my bold to OS 5.0.0.411 .I received 1 txt message and everything seemed fine.. at least I thought so ;A bit later I got a second txt (SMS) message but the content of the msg didn't make any sense as it seemed only relevant to another person in my contacts...
I had one sms in my SMS/MMS inbox and all SMS that came in after that appeared to be from the same person although they weren't! .... In other words, I get the threaded SMS but showing ALL incoming messages as being from the same person (the first one that sent me SMS after I installed the OS 5.0.0.411)!
Galaxy S6 :: How To Get Messages To Show Up Lock Screen With Sender Name
Apr 9, 2015On my iPhone, when I would receive a text message, my lock screen would show who the message was from but it wouldn't include a "preview" of what the message said. It just said Text Message and the persons name. Whenever I receive a text message on my Galaxy S6, is it not possible for the alert on my lock screen to just say "New Message" or just even the contact's name and no preview of the message?
Under Notifications settings --> Notifications on lock screen -- I have the option of Show Content or Do Not Show Notifications.
Shouldn't there be additional options of "turn preview off". Something to that effect? Same with my emails. I'd rather it just say who the email is from an not a snippit of the email contents. Is this possible for email and text messages?
BB Bold 9700 :: SMS Service Only Shows 1st Sender Only For All Incoming Messages
Feb 20, 2010The Bold 9700 has a big prblem with its SMS service because it only shows the 1st sender only and I always think messages coming are from the same guy!! I can not answer because I am not sure of the sender as it doesn't show! what shall I do?

Jul 1, 2011I currently have (3) email accounts on my Blackberry Torch. Prior to upgrading my OS to 6.0, the sender would automatically default to the email account I am composing my email from. After the upgrade, now I have to manually select the email address from the "Send Using" drop-down. It defaults to [Default] and not hello@hotmail.com. This is just an added step that is tedious when I am sending out emails from different accounts.

Callers are given the option of tagging them as "urgent", which on my Windows phone, meant that they came in with a little red exclamation point (just as Outlook does). Urgent messages on iphone's mail app, though, don't seem to have any such indicator. Am I missing a setting somewhere?

I have gone to 3 sites for free ringtones have sent the ring tones to my phone, I have not received anything. I also have setup google voice and I am not getting any text messages from people tht text my google voice number.

Jun 3, 2012I receive some messages from some people but have had a few friends tell me they have sent me messages yet I am not receiving them. One friend even said when she sends me messages for some reason my e-mail shows up in the "to" field, but not my mobile number. When she starts a new message and uses my mobile number I do not receive it. I've tried clearing network settings, deleting messages and turning my phone off. Nothing seems to be working. Any thoughts?

Mar 20, 2012I have an IPad2 and IPhone 4S running the latest OS 5.1. I was texting with a 3rd party on my IPhone and was recieving responses back (all blue - not SMS). I was expecting a response on my iphone and did not recieve it in a timely manner but when I looked at my IPad the response was there. I waited around 5 minutes and still nothing. Then i dropped out of iMessage on my IPhone and started it back up and then I saw the text pop up.
