IPhone :: Will New Volume Buttons On The 4G/G4/HD Will Be Multi-functional?
May 15, 2010
If the prototypes of the new iPhone we've seen are generally accurate, I really think the move from the rocker volume switch to two dedicated volume buttons opens up a lot of possibilities. I can see being able to navigate through lock screen information like missed calls, e-mail, or texts (if that's added eventually with OS 4 or later), or have each button serve as a quick launch replacement for favorites or add further customization such as being able to call a single contact or launch a particular application.
I have never had any issues with the current volume rocker and I think it works great. The only reason to make the change to dedicated up/down buttons would appear to be to add functionality to them by allowing them to easily be used as two distinct standalone buttons.
I think Apple realized they couldn't add any additional buttons to the iPhone, so the only way to increase options/functionality was to take existing buttons the up/down volume rocker and increase their usefulness and functionality.
How can I open at least 2 separate fully functioning windows at the same time on a sony xperia z2 i mean the same idea as samsung phones like for example opening youtube in one half of the screen and facebook on the other half and both are standing alone < in short how to open two apps in one screen ? >
The multi tasking and back buttons are not illuminated on my s5. Yes,I have turned off the power saver. I have tried it with the LED indicator lights off and on. I have tried turning the brightness adjustment off and on.
I just noticed this today that when I'm playing a song on my phone, the volume buttons act as the media player as well switching to the next song. I would often try to increase or decrease the volume, and I realize I can't. I tried a battery pull hoping that would solve the issue. It's frustrating how a person can't hear music at all, and having no use of the volume buttons. I am still under my 30 day warranty, I'm considering taking it back and exchanging for a new one.
On my iphone 4, the volume buttons all of a sudden stopped turning up or down the volume. This is also bad because I cant do bitesms quick reply. Im sure that this is a software issue but does anyone know what the problem is or what cydia app/theme/etc would have caused this?
iphone 4 volume and mute buttons not working, checked all settings they are all fine and when headphones in it works??? When I take out headphones the volum buttons do not work, when phone rings or text receives only vibrates?
Today I was trying to turn up the volume for my ringer, however neither the or button will make the volume bar show up. These buttons work while adjusting the volume during a phone call. But do not work for music or the ringer.
my iphone volume buttons and the speaker donīt work. but when i get a call the speaker works. system sounds like sms tone donīt work. what could it be?
I was cleaning my Iphone 4 and I noticed that the benzel where the volume buttons is at is bended. Also that the glass. Is popping out on the top left and bottom left of the iphone. Do you think apple will exchange it for a new one? I will post a picture if you like.(p.s. i have never dropped my iphone)
My recently purchased Iphone 5 works great with one annoying issue. The volume buttons on the side are reversed. The button with the minus sign increases the volume and is directly underneath the mute toggle. The button with the plus sing decreases the volume.Â
my volume on my iPhone isnt working right. this is a 4S, and over 2yrs old. i've never had problems with buttons beforeÂ
now when i am trying to watch a YouTube video for example, or typing clicks- there is no sound coming out of the phone speaker. whenever i press the volume buttons up/down, the "ringer" square comes on but no volume bars are displayed. whenever i watch a YouTube or listen to a podcast i can not raise or lower the volume on the screen either. i do hear the phone ring, and hear alarms through the speaker. Â
i have tried a 'shut down' and then a 'reset' (pressing power/home button together to power down). but i could not lower or raise volume either. i can listen w/headphones, and AirPlay. i updated the iOS a while ago (2 months?) and this happened much after the update.
I have two pairs of earbuds, that for some reason or another, have stopped working in respect to the inline volume up/down and microphone functions. The microphone function is in/op as well.
I have reset all settings. Sometimes when I press the volume up button the ringer symbol shows up. When I double tap the home button a slide to the left the volume is completely none. I cannot slide or use the buttons to change.
My silent switch won't work. I tried plugging/unplugging earphones. The volume control doesn't work either, the volume just won't change either. The only way to change the volume is through the earphone's volume control.
My device volume buttons (+ - ) doesnīt works. The ringtone it sounds, and the alarm but not whatsappīs or my music. If I touch the + - buttons, appears the ringtone symbol but not the little white squares. I canīt increase or decrease the volume.
I feel like this was a pretty popular request, and when we all saw the separate volume buttons, many said the same thing.finally we can hold the phone like a normal camera and not have to fiddle with touching the screen.Evidently not, seeing as nothing was mentioned of it in iOS4 or iPhone 4 keynotes, nor is it mentioned in feature overviews. Certainly not a deal breaker, just more of an annoyance. It's odd that Apple hasn't given us this feature without having to jailbreak, as I'd think the coding for it is very minimal.
I recently purchased an iPhone 4S brand new and sealed and it's been about a month now and the on/off button and volume buttons seem to get stuck when being pressed. I have to apply more pressure than generally required to get them to function correctly. And when I do that, I hear this loud clicking noise as if the button was not making the right contact with the insides and happens to sit in place after the pressure is applied. It feels like I'm cracking the inside of the phone every time I press them so kind of worried about it.
Another thing I've noticed it when I press the Up volume button, the volume goes up and then back down sometimes in an instance, as if the button seems to be pressing the down volume button aswell from beneath it. The rest of the phone is fine. Is this a common issue and will I be able to get this fixed under my warranty as it is covered til next year?
My volume buttons on the side recently quit working and it won't let me turn the ringer up and my keyboard doesn't click and my home screen doesn't click
