IPhone :: 4 - Rattling Due To The Volume Buttons Are Loose?
Aug 19, 2010Anyone experiencing the rattling problem due to the volume buttons are loose?
View 5 RepliesAnyone experiencing the rattling problem due to the volume buttons are loose?
View 5 RepliesI got my (Verizon) G4 a little over 2 weeks ago. I've noticed that on about half my calls the phone speaker sounds loose/tinny/rattling when the person on the line is speaking.
I've tried every combination of enabling/disabling noise suppression, voice clarity and voice privacy, but nothing has worked.
My volume buttons only show headphone volume and headphones are not plugged in. How do I get my external volume back?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased a Sony Xperia Z5 premium dual, apparently the volume button is very loose and the screen freezes sometimes.
View 1 Replies View Related1. Volume button: On my phone the volume button feels loose and wiggles. If you put your finger on the button, you can wiggle it (move it) up or down or side to side.It is not in any danger of breaking off or falling off as I looked at a pic of a droid dissembled and it shows that the button has little tabs on each end like the home button of an iPhone. But it is still very annoying. Is this normal on the Moto Milestone/Droid? or a sign of a future problem. The button works as it should but feels loose.
2. SMS: I bought the Telus version of the Milestone and I have configured it for AT&T and can browse on the internet with 3G, Edge and wifi but I cannot get or send text messages. I get no error but nobody gets them or when friends send me texts I don't get them ether. Is there some sort of configuration I need to do like put AT&T SMS number into it? I am scratching my head on this
I just noticed this today that when I'm playing a song on my phone, the volume buttons act as the media player as well switching to the next song. I would often try to increase or decrease the volume, and I realize I can't. I tried a battery pull hoping that would solve the issue. It's frustrating how a person can't hear music at all, and having no use of the volume buttons. I am still under my 30 day warranty, I'm considering taking it back and exchanging for a new one.

Im sure that this is a software issue but does anyone know what the problem is or what cydia app/theme/etc would have caused this?

Today I was trying to turn up the volume for my ringer, however neither the or button will make the volume bar show up. These buttons work while adjusting the volume during a phone call. But do not work for music or the ringer.

If the prototypes of the new iPhone we've seen are generally accurate, I really think the move from the rocker volume switch to two dedicated volume buttons opens up a lot of possibilities. I can see being able to navigate through lock screen information like missed calls, e-mail, or texts (if that's added eventually with OS 4 or later), or have each button serve as a quick launch replacement for favorites or add further customization such as being able to call a single contact or launch a particular application.
I have never had any issues with the current volume rocker and I think it works great. The only reason to make the change to dedicated up/down buttons would appear to be to add functionality to them by allowing them to easily be used as two distinct standalone buttons.
I think Apple realized they couldn't add any additional buttons to the iPhone, so the only way to increase options/functionality was to take existing buttons the up/down volume rocker and increase their usefulness and functionality.
What do i do if my volume buttons aren't working?

My recently purchased Iphone 5 works great with one annoying issue. The volume buttons on the side are reversed. The button with the minus sign increases the volume and is directly underneath the mute toggle. The button with the plus sing decreases the volume.Â
View 6 Replies View Relatedmy volume on my iPhone isnt working right. this is a 4S, and over 2yrs old. i've never had problems with buttons beforeÂ
now when i am trying to watch a YouTube video for example, or typing clicks- there is no sound coming out of the phone speaker. whenever i press the volume buttons up/down, the "ringer" square comes on but no volume bars are displayed. whenever i watch a YouTube or listen to a podcast i can not raise or lower the volume on the screen either. i do hear the phone ring, and hear alarms through the speaker. Â
i have tried a 'shut down' and then a 'reset' (pressing power/home button together to power down). but i could not lower or raise volume either. i can listen w/headphones, and AirPlay. i updated the iOS a while ago (2 months?) and this happened much after the update.

I feel like this was a pretty popular request, and when we all saw the separate volume buttons, many said the same thing.finally we can hold the phone like a normal camera and not have to fiddle with touching the screen.Evidently not, seeing as nothing was mentioned of it in iOS4 or iPhone 4 keynotes, nor is it mentioned in feature overviews. Certainly not a deal breaker, just more of an annoyance. It's odd that Apple hasn't given us this feature without having to jailbreak, as I'd think the coding for it is very minimal.
View 15 Replies View RelatedI just noticed this, do you think Apple will replace my phone?(I meant to write "reversed volume buttons", mods please fix)
View 24 Replies View RelatedI just received my iPhone 4 and noticed some play in both volume button? Is that normal or should they be rock solid and not move an inch?
View 24 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased an iPhone 4S brand new and sealed and it's been about a month now and the on/off button and volume buttons seem to get stuck when being pressed. I have to apply more pressure than generally required to get them to function correctly. And when I do that, I hear this loud clicking noise as if the button was not making the right contact with the insides and happens to sit in place after the pressure is applied. It feels like I'm cracking the inside of the phone every time I press them so kind of worried about it.
Another thing I've noticed it when I press the Up volume button, the volume goes up and then back down sometimes in an instance, as if the button seems to be pressing the down volume button aswell from beneath it. The rest of the phone is fine. Is this a common issue and will I be able to get this fixed under my warranty as it is covered til next year?
