So I just got my iPhone and it turns out that it does have the standard phillips head screws rather than a Torx derivative. I wonder why the production photos showed torx screws, maybe european iPhones have the Torx screws, either way I am much happier if I ever have to replace the battery myself.
Original Post:
Does anyone else have a feeling of hatred toward torx screws, I hate them, I feel like they are ugly, and they remind me of all the things I was never able to open, and all the screwdrivers/screws that I stripped. I always liked that the iPhone used phillips head screws even though I had no intention of opening one. Maybe this is just me though.
I installed a custom Rom on my att s6 but it has the stock browser removed and I want to reinstall it. How to do it?

View 14 Replies View RelatedRIGHT NOW in 2010: yes 2gigs of usage for a phone (even the iPhone) is a lot and most people will not reach that even with intense usage. HOWEVER looking forward. What happens once 4g is developed, once we can make these FaceTime calls over the network, once we can most certainly use Skype with the front facing camera. What happens when data just becomes more available. I really see 2g being reached easily in the not so distant future.
My theory is AT&T has thought about this and has come up with a plan to make us think that by "downgrading" to a 2gig plan for $25/month we will save money. In the long run I fear that this may not be the case. I fear, so much so that I'm writing this post, that we may see a great spike in the amount of people using more than 2gigs of data per month. I fear that AT&T has thought about this and is planning ahead to reap the benefits. I am attempting to think outside the box and that tends to lead to crazy thoughts that may be completely unfounded, but I have had this discussion with a few people and they seem to agree I'm not crazy this time.
In light of this I am thinking that I will keep that extra infinite amount of data/month and continue to pay the 5 dollar premium, because once I opt out of this it's gone for good. We, the current iPhone users, have the opportunity to exploit AT&T's plan to limit our future data needs by spending more money now.
Just looked at the bottom of my iphone and realized it didnt have the torx screws like shown on apples website. Anyone else have phillips head screws?

The story so far: I bought an accessory in Nov 2011 at an Apple Retail Store. (Philips dual-dock speaker) It started malfunctioning in Mar 2012. (Dock not charging anymore) I brought it to an Apple Store (closer to my place), they were happy to replace it on the spot, except that there was none in stock. So I was advised to go to an other Store (the original one), where they had stock. So far, so good for service. I went to the other store, but there I was told that they could not replace it because I had bought it more than 14 days before, so I had to contact the manufacturer directly! So my questions are:
- What is, if any, the actual policy on non-Apple product repair & replacement?
- Why don't all store follow the same policy?
- Should I just try my luck again with another person, until I strike gold and get it replaced?

I made a purchase for a black bumper and paid $31.60 but when I go to the Apple.com website to check the status of my refund its shows "There is no record of a refund for the receipt number you entered." I tried entering my receipt number plus last 4 of card and I also tried just entering the full CC number as well and get that response for both.
Just wanting to know if anyone has possibly experienced before, wanted to to see if any Macforum members have had this issue and what was the resolution to your issue? Should I just call Apple? Are they giving refunds in store if you take in your receipt?
We are going to set up numerous iPod Touches through apple Configurator and would NOT like it to include the default apple apps when preparing.

My wife and I just bought 2 iP4s' and use Win7 machines at home for iTunes. We have been sharing an apple ID for apps previously since we used 2 iPods + 1 iP 3 previously. Now, when I download an app, her phone tries to download the same app. The options under iCloud settings are...
Mail: off
Contacts: off (so we don't duplicate or copy each other's contacts)
Calenders: off (we use google calenders)
reminders: off
bookmarks: off
notes: off
photo stream: off
documents and data: off
Find my iPhone: On
Storage and backup: currently off (might be turned on later) Do we need to create 2 different iCloud accounts and can we still use 1 apple ID to purchase apps? Will this prevent our phones from trying to sync apps? There is no setting for that in the iCloud settings.
