Almost every important utility app has been upgraded for multitasking, but only 2 games (Peggle and Defender Chronicles)This is surprising, as I have a lot of EA and Gameloft games, and you think they would be on top of this, especially as people spend more time per period in a game than they are in a utility app.Then again, a lot of game developers have moved on to bigger and better things.

I'm not sure if the developers involved with the design and release of the most recent Jailbreak read through these forums but, if they do I (and everyone else I'm sure) appreciate all the work you've done for the iPhone community. I know very little about coding but am sure an enormous amount of time and energy go into creating a Jailbreak.

I have read that Apple sells discounted hardware to Developers. I have 2 Developer accounts. One is a standard Individual iPhone Developer Account which is $99/year. And one is a USA iPhone Developer Student account.Can I get the iPhone 4 using any of these accounts and get a discount?

It is also pretty laggy in 3D mode.It drains a lot of battery life also.I just wanted the people at apple to know the problems in their beta so that they can fix the problems. View 24 Replies View RelatedConsidering the poor performance of ios4 on the iphone4, I'm inclined to wonder did the developers have any phones to test it on. Some of the bugs are so blatantly obvious typing lags dreadful Bluetooth performance and that awful proximity sensor bug. I waited several weeks after US launch mainly to allow all bugs to be ironed out but that didn't work. Cmon apple get your finger out. You dropped the ball on this one.

Farmville and Flight Control
Flight control works great, but Farmville isn't even showing up in the game center. Is anyone else having this problem? I deleted farmville and it said it was in the game center so I deleted that setting as well and when I re-downloaded it, it still didn't show up.
So I just bought that Eliminate:Gun Range app that I thought was supposed to be made for iOS4 so I tested it and hit the home button in mid game and then when i double click the home button and go back to the game, it starts it from the beginning menu again.
I thought the games were just supposed to pause and we can go back to where we left off.
I wish i could disable multitasking, I really do not care for it placeholding where i was in an app. In several apps it is more annoying than it is helpful in others. Is there anyway to disable? Will this be a "mod" that jailbreaking could disable?

after upgrading to ios4 on my iphone then JB & unlock...my multitasking stopped working. Everything was working great. I was able to listen to music and use safari or send sms at the same time. But now when i listen to music and try something else it quits the music before opening something else.

I was lead to believe, from scouring these forums, that double tapping the home button will give a list of recent apps.if I open a multitasking app like the new eBay app (updated today) then close it using the home key and then reopen it it's righ where it left off as it should be.Now if I double tap hold down eBay and delete it from the list the next time I open eBay it opens from scratch.
So the list in the double tap screen is not a list of recent apps but a task manager to what is currently multitasking. For those apps that start from scratch just don't have the multitasking programmer into them.
One of the many things I like about my iPhone compared to my Motorola Q is that fact that when I close an app it really closes. Now with multitasking, all apps stay open even when I hit the Home button to close them. Now I have to double click the Home button and hold down an app for the wiggle sensation and individually close all the apps that should closed automatically.
There needs to be a feature that allows Close All or double clicking the Home button from within the app hard closes the app.I know it is just a couple extra steps but it feel counter intuitive.
So I feel like when I have a lot of open Apps, I'm unnecessarily using battery life. I then have to close all open Apps individually. Is there any way to kill all open Apps with one punch? Also, are open Apps draining battery life in the background?
View 9 Replies View Relatedi had multitasking before ios4, i used backgrounder.when ios4 came out i unjailbroke because steve told us all how much more efficient his multitasking was. my main problem is that now when i close an app, it doesn't actually close. yes i know this is so i can multitask, but why do i want to multitask every single app i open! i end up with loads of apps "open" and my phone runs slow, every few days i notice the slow, either when an app tells me i am running out of memory, or when i unlock my phone it takes a bit longer to load the unlock screen.i then have to close all my apps which usually freezes for a few seconds while closing them all.now i can just about manage this, but my mum and dad (both owners of iphones) and happy with apples usual simple approach find it a little complicated when and how to close the apps that they have opened (i just tell them when it gets slow, restart it).

backgrounder i have to say, worked better.when i clicked home, my app closed (gone! no memory), and lets say i was in trails and wanted to switch to my music, i just held the home button and that's it, backgrounding was activated, and only trails was taking up my memory, not some game from 2 days ago, or Internet, or the odd utility app, etc. anyone else either have this problem, or think that apple should update their multitasking feature.

when i doublepress the home button and the multitasking drawer opens up, it appears to be empty. i can tell this is a problem because when i use sbsettings and check the running processes, i see many apps are still running. at the very least i should see ipod controls in the drawer.this wasnt always the case, i know that right when i finished jailbreaking (before i synced all my apps over itunes) i did see ipod controls and sms in the drawer (those were the only 2 apps i tried before doing that initial sync). i then synced over any apps i had but failed to install anything that was from installous (depending on appsync). that was expected. i think (not sure really) that when the official apps loaded i was still able to have apps appear in the multitasking drawer. i think installed aptbackup from cydia and tried to restore all. i manually chose installous and appsync 4.0 from cydia because i noticed that they didnt install after the restore all. i then synced again with itunes. now i got all my installous apps back on the phone. this is when i checked the multitasking drawer again and i didnt have any icons! so i am going to assume its one of the cydia packages thats giving me this issue. i was hoping someone here might have a clue as to which package might cause this. i got a list of all my packages i am sharing below:

edit: i just noticed that the package for appsync31 looks like its still installed which is probably a bad thing. when i go through cydia it is not installed, this is the output of dpkg so i trust that this is accurate. any idea of how to remove that package without cydia?
edit 2: now i'm not really sure what is going on with that package, i am trying to use dpkg to remove it but this is what i get when i try to find out the status of that package

Are there any reliable apps for allowing background running of apps on a 3gs 3.1.3 jailbroken with spirit? I've seen a couple mentioned via google but they seemed to have disasterous concequenses for some.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've noticed a few times that when attempting to launch the multitasking feature it has blacked out my screen and started a loading screen similar to the power off screen only to have the phone come back on and need to be unlocked again. As a temporary fix I have found switching the phone on and off fixes it, but its happened a about 3 times over the past two months.

my iPhone 6 plus around a month ago, and this has been a recurring problem since the beginning. When I close apps from multitasking, I often get a split second where my entire screen turns blue and then goes back to normal. I only ask because I've done my fair share of searching on various sites to find no one with similar problems.Â
It should be noted that the issue only seems to occur when closing apps with high memory usage (Madden Mobile, True Skate, Vain Glory) and it occurs more frequently for some apps than for others.Â
How can I make a function request to the developers.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI was super satisfied w battery life of my new iPhone 4 the first two days and until it ran down to 1%. After that I think it decrease too much and almost 1% per minute when surfing. But one thing I might be wrong is killing apps in the multitasking menu. Will that increase or decrease battery life? I am thinking maybe it will decrease rather since it is more of an effort to reload the program then having it idle in memory. Am I wrong and what else could affect battery life? I have fixed usual suspects, brightness, location services and push services.

To me, yes, obviously, because this means the App Store can be in more hands, and my apps can have a MUCH larger audience. Yes I know there is a lot of market share already, but look at VZW, T-Mob etc and if we got their eyes on our apps. you should be able to fill in the rest. What do you think from a developer point of view?
