IPhone :: Update From IOS 5.1.0 To 5.1.1 Asked For A Restore?

Today I decided to update my non-jailbroken white iPhone 4S through the notification that had been outstanding in the 'Settings' app from iOS 5.1.0 to 5.1.1. After agreeing to the terms and conditions the phone rebooted and displayed the apple logo and a progress bar underneath. I left it as it was but when I came back after 10 minutes it displayed the 'Connect to Itunes' screen. I thought fair enough maybe the actual update has to occur through itunes so I did as it told me. Next thing I knew, my phone was in fact in Recovery mode and required a restore.
I was furious. This meant that all the data on my phone had to be removed and why? no idea. All because of a ridiculous update that had to be done eventually. Before I restored it I searched if any others had been through the same scenario and indeed it was a hot topic but the only appropriate solution was in fact to restore. The iCloud backup was also pointless because about 2 months ago my phone claimed my iCloud backup storage was full so I eventually deleted everything from it but it still showed that it was full so I ignored it thinking that I wouldn't restore the device anytime soon.
So here, now I'm asking for a way to reverse or retrieve all my data? I've still got my contacts, my apps are currently being synced, but all my messages, alarms, photos, music, etc are gone.
Today my JB'd 3G on 3.1.2 went into a funky state and I attempted to reboot. Since then I've been stuck on the Apple logo at start up and nothing.
So, i put the phone in DFU mode and Itunes 9 is giving me the option to "Update & Restore", HOWEVER, I dont want to do this because I want to stay on 3.1.2 for obvious reasons. I also have been reading stuff about SHSH but I have no clue what this is so one can assume I never did anything prior regarding SHSH.
When itunes has the pop up on the screen saying "update and restore" can I hold "shift and click "update&restore" to choose a 312 ipsw, or is that option only available if restoring without being in DFU mode.
My 4S is locked and indicates that I need to connect to iTunes. When i connect to my computer the device will not sync because it wants the password. How do I connect to verify that it is my phone?
I lost my 4gs, no insurance, no warranty, no find the phone app, no chance of finding it ever basically. how can i block it from any kind of use to stop the person who picked it up eventually getting through my password lock and looking at my things ?
So i updated my phone last night and it said that it needed to be resotred so I did, but just before it finished, it did not complete it and now will not restore at all. Keeps coming up with Error (1). I have followed the steps to what apple have given me by restarting my laptop, making sure I have the most recent iTunes and making sure all my software is upto date. and it all is, but I still cannot restore it.
I've downloaded the latest update 5.1.1. The installation is successfull until my iPhone wants to restore.And then it asks me to connect to iTunes once again - can't do anything.. Restarting the iPhone doesn't work either!
When downloading an image either through my browser (Chrome) or an app, I click the notification which says "image has been downloaded". Every single time I do this, I get asked which app to use (I also have Google Photos installed and a File Manager). Despite selecting "Always" use this app, I always get asked.
Plus, when I select the stock Gallery app, the image comes up but I cannot share it from there, but at top right is a drop-down menu where I can set it as my Wallpaper. I have to go back to my Home screen, click Gallery, back out of the image to the main Gallery page, locate the image in the relevant folder (i.e. Downloads), open it, and then I get the full array of options at the bottom (Favorite, Share, Edit, Delete).
I have the 3Gs and jailbroke it the first day I got it. Just a few days ago my iphone locked up and I had to restore it. Since I was FORCED to update to the new OS 4, I can't JB it yet.
I was looking around the settings options and I noticed that it has th e "tethering" options on my phone just like when I had it JB. I did a search and I did not find anything about tethering on the new OS, just that it was promised by ATT a few months ago but they never did.So is there something special about m phone or do they normaly have this options available just you can't use it?
I just updated my iphone and all my contacts have been erased. All recent calls and text messages are there. We have updated other iphones without losing the contacts. Is there any way I can get my contact information restored. We specified for the update to not sync contacts since I had no contacts in my itunes library. I had over 200 contacts on my iphone so i did not want to have to type them individually into my library.
My phone is stuck in Recovery so I pluged it into itunes and pressed update and restore. After the update I click on the restore button and it pops up and makes me downoad the update again and wont restore!
My I phone is literally dead. I tried upgarding the software yestreday, it refused saying there was an error, I was given an option to restore it, it has failed. Now there is no old software as well as the new software. Its showing a plug and an Itunes signal on top. Thats all that it has.
I have an iPhone 3GS and I wanted to restore it to restart some of the games that I have completed but whenever i try to it goes most of the way then says unable to restore.
i tried to update my iphone and it gave an unknown error message with code (1015) which rendered the phone useless unless i restore. then i tried restoring it but gave the same error message after its almost done. please help me on how to restore my iphone even if its without the update.
I'm trying to restore and update a new iPhone 5 on iTunes. I keep trying but each time it says an error has occurred. I have restarted my mac, got the latest version of iTunes and checked for updates. Do I need to update to OS X Yosemite for it to work? I'm not sure what else I can do?
