I'm getting texts from strange numbers saying "who is this"? I think my texting account may have been spoofed. What should I do? I've turned off messages for now, but I need a more permanent fix.

yesterday I unlocked my iPhone at AT&T. Everything worked perfect and they unlocked my iPhone.
Now my question: Is the AT&T unlock just for certain basebands/firmwares or is this a permanent unlock for whatever firmware?
I just want to know if my iPhone is unlocked like an iPhone you would buy factory unlocked?

However since it has a cap on data per month I want it to be secondary to several other unlimited WiFi networks such as my office WiFi, home WiFi, free WiFi hotspots, etc. Is there any work around to make the MiFi wireless (or any permanent wireless network) 2nd to all other recognized networks? This is the ideal set-up for my iPhone 4 and iPad 2 WiFi. I don't want to have to turn the MiFi on and off constantly, I want it on in the background as a seamless secondary option. I appreciate any insight and find it odd that you cannot prioritize networks. Meaning if I "forgot this network" and start over will the 1st joined or most recent joined become primary when there are multiple networks available?

probably since the last Android Update to 4.0.4, my Ray with 4.1.B.0.587 starts self-actuated a permanent reboot loop whenever I am crossing the German-Austrian border and therefore reaching an Austrian (i.e. foreign) network.
The loop restarts whenever it reaches the point where it checks the SIM card and then starts with a Sony screen like when I switch it on. The loop can only be interrupted by removing the battery. OK, also by going back to Germany. I have full phone roaming authorization from my home network (vodafone), yet for data roaming I need to purchase day or week packages. Up to that Android update, all that worked perfectly, including tehtering.
So, in fact, I am currently not able to use my phone in foreign networks.
My Lumia 1520 has a permanent discolouration in the lower right hand corner. There's a rusty purple blotch about the size of a pinky finger nail clipping about a cm above and half cm to the left of the menu ellipsis.
This blotch is ONLY VISIBLE ON BLACK BACKGROUNDS. When the screen is white or any other colour, the blotch doesn't appear.
I can see two lights at the edge of the screen (one above and one below the discolouration.)
This is strange because all the overheating issues are localized around the top left hand corner of the screen to the left of the camera lens. I assume the processor is in that region.
there is some sort of white pixels/moist/dust i don't know what it is but its there on top part of the screen and i can see them on colored background except like pitch black background

I do not have a data plan.I have a friend that sends me emails from his PC to my CellNumber@txt.att.net and I received them as TEXT MESSAGES. I then reply to that same TEXT MESSAGE and he receives it in his email on his PC.But when I try to send (not just reply) a new TEXT MESSAGE to his EMAIL address, it fails. I get a little red clock for a while, then nothing.I have spoke to AT&T and they say it should work.My friend is also on AT&T, and he too does not have a data plan, and he sends TEXTS to his EMAIL address all the time without challenge. He does not have a Blackberry.

I am extremely dissapointed to hear this. I am enjoying my Razr, but wait excitedly for ICS to come to my Razr. Now I am concerned. I am hoping that this can be passed on to Motorola developers and see if something can be done. I have already posted something in the Goggle mobile forums as well, I am not sure if it will be seen or not.Prior to ICS we have been able to link and unlink our notification sounds and ringtone as we see fit. I like to have mine linked in the day to run off one volume control and then unlink at night to silence all notifications, but keep my ringtone available in case of emergencies. Having text messages, email, and various other notifications wake me up at night is unacceptable. I am not sure why this feature had to change. I am hoping it was a gross oversight and can be easily corrected. I am posting this here in hopes that if Google doesn't change it that Motorola can in the version it releases to it's devices.
From reading forums I know I am not alone in this opinion. Many people do the same as me including the 5 droids that live in my home. :) Please moderators when you read this pass my concern on to the appropiate place. I am not a developer so I have no idea what goes into writing the software, but I just can't see what is so drastic in ICS that this feature had to be taken out.

Does anyone know how to get voice to text on the Hero 2.1? Under settings, there is something that says "text to speech" but I don't know how to get it to work.Also a major problem I have is that you can't jump through the address book/people by selecting a letter, you have to manually scroll through the entire address book to get to a phone number or contact that you want. View 6 Replies View RelatedI have multiple email addresses on my phone (Work, School (2), and Gmail). I have set my work email as the default under default services under advanced options. If I am in messages and I use the menu to compose a new email, the correct default email (work) is used.
However, if I am browsing my files, like a picture, and I use the menu to select send as email, it will attach it to a new email but it will be my Gmail address, not my default work address as the from address.
I have double checked and my work email is set as the default. Does anyone know how to fix this? This is not a battery pull problem either... It has been this was since I got the phone, and on my replacement as well. I reboot the phone often so its not the standard do a battery pull answer.

1. In the past when ever I would write a new email I would get list of suggested email addresses in the "To" field. For example, if I would was to write the letter S I would get the email address of the people in my address book whose name starts with an S (sam, Sofia etc). for some reason this feature stopped working on my phone and I can't find how to make it work again. if I want to send an email I need to manually write the email address in the "To" field. The auto suggestion feature works perfectly on my wife's phone (an E72 with the same firmware - 22.007) but on my phone it won't suggest email addresses from my contacts.
2. Another problem is that my Gmail that is synced to the phone, through the Nokia Messenger server is locked on "hide emails older than 2 weeks". Now, I have hundreds of emails stored on my phone that dates to February 1st - the day I got the Phone.
Is there a way to delete these emails automatically, without deleting them on the Gmail account itself? It makes my phone really when going through the emails.
When I try to text it sometimes goes through immediately but most times it tries with the red box and check mark and then it gives me a SMS error 97. Sometimes I get an SMS Error 0. I can no longer resend the message. This has never happend with any other blackberry I have had. It always tried to send the message until it got it through. While this is going on I still recieve e-mails and text messages. What is the problem and how can I address it?
