IPhone :: Software Upgrade / Lost All My Contact Info
Jul 5, 2010
I have an Iphone 3G, and this weekend, when I connected to Itunes, it upgraded to the 4.0 software and *SAID* it was backing up all of my information (contacts, calendars, etc). The software upgraded and it all works fine but *ALL* of my information is GONE! nothing is on the SIM card, because I tried putting it into another phone. I back up my entire computer to my Time Machine regularly. I spent 1 hour on the phone with a "Genius" while I wasn't at home who repeatedly nagged me to back up my phone. Tonight I spent 45 mins, most of the time, the "genius" didn't know where my contact data even saves. In the end, tried copying last back up before the upgrade to 4.0 software and restore my Iphone to that backup, but it was a no-go.
When I upgraded my wife's iPhone 3G to 5.1, I lost all her contact information and she ended up with mine.
During the upgrade process, I thought it backed up her data. But it doesn't seem to be available to restore. Isn't that a normal part of the upgrade process and shouldn't it be available somewhere?
Unfortunately, she did not sync this data with any application.
I just updated software to iOS 7.1.1, and now I have no contact list. Icon is there, but there are only a couple of Facebook contacts. Never had those in my Contacts before. How to recover my old contact list?
Yesterday I upgraded the software on my Torch, to whatever the recommended upgrade was. Now, when I go to my contacts and touch the touch screen to dial one of the contacts, nothing happens. By upgrading did I all of a sudden lose the ability to dial simply by touching the contact name?
I was wondering if the X10 can do the same as my last android Hero, which basically link the facebook info contact to my related phone contact, including the picture. I guess this wont need any hardware, but software. Has this improvement being asked or is it planned for future updates?
after downloading 5.0 i lost all my info-apps,phone numbers-e-mails. everything. verizon told me today that i needed to upgrade but never told you may loose your info if you are not careful with?
I have loads of people in my contacts who have signed up on the day for newsletters/specials etc. When a customer asks to be removed from our distribution list, I always cut their contact details from the mobile and email fields and paste into their notes. This way, when I send out an update to everyone on the list, the contact doesn't receive it but I still have their details if they need me to contact them personally. I do this cut and paste on my 5s (OS up to date), on Outlook 2013 (Windows 8.1) and iCloud.Â
The problem I've been having lately is that when I sync my iPhone with iTunes (up to date), it somehow puts the more recent contacts' phone number and email back into the fields on both iPhone and Outlook. I have been doing this for a long time and have quite a few regular customers who opted out a while ago. Their fields are empty and their contact details are in their notes.
Info: iPhone 5s, iOS 7.1.2, Zenbook with Windows 8.1
when your iphone crashes how do you retrieve all your info that was on phone email address & contact number work sites ect to be able to transfere in on to another phone since the sim card doesnt work like on other phone as I have just found out
I back up my BB regularly but seem to have lost the diary info for the last year.I want to look at the info but don't want to restore a backup to my phone because I will lose current information. Is there a way to view backup data on my PC?
Right now my address book is pulling all my contact info from Google and Phone. I would like to easily move everything to Google in case I switch phones.
Ok so i've just upgraded to the newest firmware my phone offered me (5.1.1) and when i went into my messaging i noticed that my display picture is no longer showing beside my own messages, i've checked everything i can think of and the only thing i can find that may have anything to do with it is that for some reason under the contact "Myself" my partner's hotmail address is listed, i can't edit it or delete it, i can add other fields to the contact but cannot ditch this other email address
I found one issue that seems to be very irritating with my BB which other phones have done fine in the past and I cant figure out how to on my Tour. My brother texted me with a new phone number he is now using so I hit options in the test message and then the only thing is "add to contacts" so I choose that but it is a brand new contact. Why cant I choose to update a contact?
I have extensive information for my contacts: names, addresses, emails, phone numbers. How do I save this information to the sim card? Can I save all contacts together, or must this be done one by one
When I first opened up Blackberry Messenger, It asked me to associate a contact with my identity. It was my first night with the touchscreen keyboard and I unwittingly selected the wrong contact from my list. Now when I view my Contact Profile and look up "View My Additional Info" it has the information for the wrong contact. I tried using the "Remove Link WIth Blackberry Contact" from the "View Additional Info" window, but even when I hit "yes" to the warning the wrong information still remains. How do I change the info to the correct contact? or how do I reset the whole thing? or how do I edit the existing information?
I have a few contacts that as long as I have texts from them they show up when I search for their names in the "people" section of the phone app. When I delete their texts and search for them the contact info isn't there. However, if I enter their number instead of their name on the dialer their contact info shows up. I'm so confused as to why this would happen.
S6. When I click on my profile in the contacts app, it only lists my name and nothing else. There's another contact in the list with all of my detailed info, but there's no way for me to merge the two. My N5 would update my personal info based on my Google+ profile, but my S6 apparently isn't doing anything.
When I get a picture message from someone is there anyway I can see who its from without opening it? I just got this phone 3 days ago and I don't want to waste minutes on pointless picture messages my friends send me.
I just bought my mom a new E72. One thing that has us stumped is how to insert a phone number from your contacts into the body of an SMS. Pretty much every phone I have ever used has an option to "insert contact" so that you can select a number from your addressbook and insert it into the body of the SMS. I have been unable to find this option in the E72. The only way I have managed to do it is in a very round about manner involving multitasking, going and opening the contact book, then finding the number, copying it, and then pasting it back in the text of the SMS. Is this the only way to do what I want or am I missing something obvious? I can't believe that such a basic functionality would have been left out of a "smart" phone ?
After upgrade my bold from 4.6 to 5.0, when system starts appear a message box with a text like this:"This mobile device contains confidential software and property of RIM etc..." at the end has a OK button but I can't click! I press the scroll, enter key, space key and nothing! If I don't click in this button I can't do anything in the phone!
If I pull over the batery and boot the phone, it's starts normally and this screen appear again and I stuck again!
Redirect me to a post that may already be up or useful. First off, I apologize if I am posting a deja vu post. Secondly, I'd like to know if anyone has a fix for my 9700, I have owned this phone for 2 months, one week in to using my bold, I lost all of my info, everything was gone. It went back to the original background pic and everything. It didn't really phase me because I had only had it for a week and had only put in a few contacts. This morning I woke up to my BB plugged into my Macbook, which is the usual site, but when I unplugged the bold 9700 from my macbook everything was gone again, I took it to the bell store and they said there was nothing they could do, and that "that shouldn't happen, did you back up your phone?" I of course haven't had the time to back up my phone and I know it would save me right now but this still should never happen, I was only charging my phone and now everything on my phone is gone. I play JR hockey and all of my hockey connections, emails and texts are in that phone, I literally have 200+ contacts that I need and can't ever get back.
There was this app called Xcontact which was an excellent way to insert any contact info from the address book into emails/sms.. but it doesn't work on my bold 9700 .. can anyone suggest anything similar for it?
My Outlook contact information on the PC ended up corrupted so I created another folder and moved all of the Outlook contact data to that folder (just as a precaution).
I then deleted all of the data in my Outlook contacts.
What I was hoping to do was push the data from the Bold 9650 to Outlook, effectively repopulating my contact list. The data on the phone is good. However, when I connect to the computer and it Desktop Manager attempts to sync the contact, it senses all contacts deleted in Outlook and asks if it can delete all contacts on the phone. I want to have it do the opposite, I want it to take the data from the phone and upload it to Outlook.
