IPhone :: Send As SMS Is Off But Still Being Sent As SMS?
Apr 8, 2012
I've turned off Send As SMS but I did a test to send a message to a number that is not an iOS device and it still sent it as a regular SMS. I checked my usage on Verizon and it does show it counted as a text message thus costing me money.
What happened? I know when I first got the iPhone 4S, it worked i.e when attempting to send to a non iOS device not having iMesaage, it warn and didn't send it. But now it appears to be broken. I'm on latest iOS firmware.
Why when I try to send a text to canada while vacationing in Greece, do I always get a message send failure message, but I can still receive messages from Canada.
When I send a picture through iMessage, sometimes it takes up to 3-4 minutes to send. Sometimes when I text using MMS/iMessage, it takes a minute or so for the sending bar to make the swoosh noise. Kind of weird it takes that long to send a message, and it's not all the time. Is this normal? Any help would be great.
my friend is on snow leopard and is getting a copy of all her mail she sends sent to her on the phone i am on Lion....i can not find this on the mail app. or on system prefs?she does NOT want to get the copies?
My phone is trying to send an email that it can't send. The message is in the Outbox. I would like to delete the message but as long as the message is trying to send it, I am unable to. Is there any way to tell it to stop sending so that I can delete it?
"Message Send Failure" every time I send pictures on message? This is also happening on my husband's phone. I have the 5C and he has the 5S. This all started about 4-5 weeks ago. The picture do however go through.
I have a Nokia 5530 XpressMusic that is 3 months old And I've had no problems with it until recently. It has come to my attention that When I send smiley faces or winks such as ^___^ or ^___~, the ^ and ~ signs do not show up to whomever i send the text message to and only the underscore ___ is seen by the reciever. In my inbox it shows those symbols but in the reciever's inbox it's just an underscore. I'm not sure if that happens to other characters since i mainly use those two.I update the software/firmware (I'm not familiar with the terminology) frequently. So I'm not sure if this problem is just the phone that I recieved or if not all phones could recieve the ^ /~ sign (i doubt it though).
I used to be able to send emails no problem from my blackberry bold. However, I am no longer able to. When I go to send an email no "send" button is present only save draft. Even in full menu there is no send.
Suddenly I am unable to send sms message, blackberry instant message or even send & receive email I get messages saying subscriber is not authorised.Additionally I get some app messages saying cannot connect to server.

open and have pressed and held the menu button to check and defiantly don't. I have turned it off And on, re installed message settings, deleted stuff, even reinstalled factory settings and its still not working id much appreciate some help. It did the same thing on Tuesday but was fine when I woke up Wednesday morning. It did it again 10pm Wednesday night and is still the same and its Friday xx I have posted this message on facebook and got told to ask here. I don't know if there is already a topic on this, but I really want to sort this problem out. I have always had Ionians and they have usually been very reliable...
Apparently my device is set to automatically send out read mail receipts. Can I change that option to never send them out? On the old thread it sounded like I have no choice, but that was re: a different type of BB. If anyone knows how to even get into my options to look I'd appreciate it. I've read how other people are getting there - going from the main menu to email settings/options/advanced settings, etc, but I can't find all the "options" I need.
I can't send MMS messages from my Iphone 4S. I can send them over iMessage, however (and apparently I can receive them from anyone). MMS messaging is turned on, and I already took it to the AT&T store. They said there should be no problem from their end (with my account etc) I also tried restoring the phone, that didn't work.
I have a text only package for my iphone, b/c it saves us a lot of $ not to have MMS. However, every once in awhile I want to send an MMS with a picture. Are there any apps that allow me to send an MMS without actually having an MMS plan on my phone? I cant do it directly through AT&T because it actually won't go through.
On my iphone i get emails from yahoo.com and sbcglobal.net email account.I can send thru my yahoo.com email account but when trying to send thru sbcglobal.net account it complains no password provided. I can get emails fine though. I did put my password in the setting section of the mail but it still complain every time and i am unable to send any email from sbcglobal.net account. The password is correct..
I had this problem at little while ago and it seemed to fix itself but now my iMessage has stopped working again, but only to my wifes iPhone. I'm not sure if it's related to the iOS update but i think it was working ok after that?I have a iPhone 4, she has a 3GS. They are both registered on the same apple ID I cannot send her iMessages but when she sends me texts (via iMessage) i receive them as messages but from my email address We are both in areas with 3G or wireless networks I have tried all of the suggestions that I have found on here and nothing is working on my phone!
why my iphone4 will only sometimes send an imessage to my wifes iphone ? Her iphone does the same with mine. Is it something to do with network coverage ?
