IPhone :: Purchased Ringtones Not Transferring From Itunes
Apr 10, 2010
I'm having a problem getting ringtones from itunes onto my iphone. I purchased about a dozen ringtone sounds and also bought the ringer. They show up in itunes under ringtones but don't show up on the phone even after I sync. I have everything automatically syncing. I'm running the latest version of iTunes & am current on my phone software. I'm on Windows.
I feel silly for asking this question but I've spent an hour now googling to death how to transfer ringtones I've puchased from iTunes onto my iPhone 3GS. I've done everything possible. I've renamed the files to M4R as suggested from m4u. I've just dragged onto the iphone in devices and not in the music library or ringtone library and nothing. Under the Ringones tab on the iphone when connected to iTunes shows no ringtones.
I am a new iPhone user and purchased some ringtones on iTunes. This then showed under Purchased items. I then proceeded to sync my phone and especially clicked on the tab that says ringtones to include that and clicked on apply. When I look on my phone and go into my ipod I can see the ringtones that I purchased under my playlists but how do I get them from my playlist to use them to assign them as ringtones to my contacts?
I have purchased and repurchased several ringtones from the iTunes store. They will show up on my phone but after a while they just disappear. When I connect my phone to my computer, they are listed under Tones under my device but they are greyed out. Under Settings and Tones in iTunes they are not listed at all.
I have sucessfully converted songs into acc files, deleted the converted files from iTunes (but not the computer), found the m4a files on the PC, converted them to m4r, transferred the m4r files back to iTunes and found them under "Tones".
What I cannot do is to get them to be found on my iPhone 3GS.
Syncing the iPhone does not appear to transfer the ringtones..
Info: iPhone 3GS, iOS 5.0.1, Windows 7 Home Premium wireless lap
I will be getting the new iphone 4s and selling my current iphone. How can i transfer all my previously purchased apps into my new i-phone.All appps are currently in my itunes. If i plug in my new i-phone into the computer will i-tunes recognize it and automatically sync?
So I just updated my Iphone and had some trouble synching my apps. I finally got the apps figured out and now I can't get my purchased ringtones back! Every time I try to synch my tones it says that doing so will erase all of my music, movies, and basically everything off of my phone. I really don't want to have to try to set all of that back up again.
Please help. I updated my iOS to 5 and lost my ringtones that I have purchesed. I tried the sync as suggested by the support help FQA but I never saw the tab it talks about. I still don't know how to get my ringtones back on my iPhone.
I have just synced my iphone to new apple desktop. But now my itunes list of purchased music has gone from iphone, even the icon! How do I get my itunes back?
I have not thought about this in months since i have not restore to a new phone in months, but since installing 4.0 i have, and have made the mistake of downloading apps i thought i bought already, but it turns out i did not! (alot of work related stuff from the same app developer who's icons look the same for the different apps he creates)
I know you could not find this out as of mid last year, but what about now? Is there a history anywhere that will show you what you have paid for? IMO itunes should automatically download all the apps you have purchased whenever you login if they are not there.
I bought a couple of ebooks at the iTunes Store a little while ago and can not read them on my iphone 4s. Yes I have dowloaded "iBooks" and when I go to Newsstand these books do not appear. Fist of all I had down loaded the books from iTunes>Store On my Macbook to load into my iPhone. So in order to read these books on iPhone am I supposed to purchase them through iTunes Store on my iPhone explicitly? Is that the only way I get to read them on my iphone? Ad if so, then why does iTunes seel them from iTunes Store on my Macbook?
I purchased 3 ringtones from the Apple Store and put them in my Tones library under iTunes. Now I want to sync my Tones library to my iPhone. I have tried many things but the tones are not showing up on my iPhone.
A while ago I purchased a movie on the itunes store. I never did put it on my ipod but just kept it on my computer. I updated Itunes and then the movie disappeared and I can't redownload it without buying it again. Is there some way I can retrieve my movie or get my money back because it wasn't refunded
Whenever i connect my device to the computer it starts to backup and transfers purchased apps/items from my iphone to itunes library, but also deletes them from my phone, is this some kind of a functionality?
I'm not sure when this started but I've been putting up with it for a while. Most of the time when my iPhone 4s (iOS 5.1) syncs with iTunes (always running the latest version on Win 7) either via USB or WiFi, the songs I didn't purchase from the iTunes store (i.e. ripped) disappear from my iPhone. I have to then uncheck the box to sync music in iTunes and then recheck it so it copies all 2500+ songs back to the iPhone. I probably have to do this 2 times a week and would turn off syncing if I didn't have a need, but I do need it. This happens far more often on USB than WiFi but it's driving me crazy. While working with Apple support to troubleshoot another issue, I completely removed and reinstalled all Apple software and reset content and settings on my iPhone in the past 3-4 months.
I have purchased music mostly from iTunes from my MacBook, a few times from my iPhone directly. When I like to share it in between, some music songs can not get from the Mac to the iPhone, even if I have approved the two to share music in between? I understand that you can share between up to 5 hardware devices owned by yourself.
I was attempting to update my phone to iOS 5.1.1 when this message popped up: "There are purchased items on the iPhone that have not been transferred to your iTunes library. You should transfer these items to your iTunes library before updating this iPhone. Are you sure you want to continue?"
