IPhone :: Preorder Shipping Different Than Billing
Jun 15, 2010
I have tried AT&T website and it will not let me preorder since the billing is a PO Box and doesn't give me the option to change shipping. Unable to get through Apple store yet, so I don't know if it is a problem there as well.
I was wondering if it would be a problem if I'm at a different location other than my billing address for my Debit Card. Is it alright if I had it shipped elsewhere?
I am going to be out of town when the new iPhone comes out. So I was thinking of pre ordering but having it sent to an ATT store that is in the town I will be at. The first part of my question is, has anyone ever done that that can tell me if it's allowed or causes any problem? The reason I ask is that in reading on the ATT web site, is clearing states that you can pre order online and have it shipped to your *Local* ATT store. But I don't want it shipped to my local store. I want it shipped to an ATT store that is 200 miles from my home town. So I don't know if that will be "IFFY!"
The second part of my question is if I can indeed do that, it also says on the ATT web site that you can pick it up anytime after June 25th which is the day after release. I am OK with that. But it also says, First come first served so the fact that I would be preordering and picking up the next day what does that mean for me? Does pre ordering guarantee that they will hold it for me no matter what time I come in? It's my understanding that you don't actually pay for it until you pick it up so could my phone be sold to someone else?
Just read in another thread that BB is reserving all 4 SKU's for the new phone...so they are reserving white. I doubt they will receive them, but I have no interest in the black phone, so it's worth a shot. Anyone else with reports from their BB trip? What kind of deposit are they asking for?
I am upgrading for the first time with ATT and Iphone. When upgrading, do I have to pay up front on the preorder or will it appear on my ATT bill next month?
I preorderd through AT&T Premier on the 15th, and everything seems fine with my order. It's showing up on all sites, money was authorized, got confirmation emails, so I'm assuming all is good. The only weird thing is when I check my upgrade options, it still says I'm eligible to buy the iPhone for the $199/$299 price, which is awesome, I guess! I looked it up on the apple website, and used *639#. Will my new contract start when I activate the phone, or will I be able to possibly buy a second one and sell it for a nice profit? Anyone else have this happen?
For pre-ordering, what do I do? I only have debit cards, but alot of people told me companies treat a debit card the same as a credit card in most instances in the retail world.
So my pre-order thankfully went through and I checked the box for the $10 2-3day shipping even though I knew the free shipping option was overnight duh lol.
I missed the preorder/reservation time because my bill was overdue. I tried waiting in line at the Apple store by me today but gave up because I had to go to work. I'm leaving for vacation on Saturday (and I'm sure most stores will be out of stock soon anway) and won't be returning until July 5th.
Now my question is, I know I can get my phone by July 14th if I order online now, but what would you say the likelihood is of me being able to go to the store on July 5th and be able to get one? Do you think stores will have received additional inventory by then?
I was one of the fortune ones who secured new Iphone 4s for my wife and I. Pre-ordered through Apple got the June 24th date.I never got a confirmation email, and my CC has never been charged, but when I go to Apple Store website my order status reflects the two phones ordered each with a unique Apple order number.
For those of you who done the pre-order thing on launch day in the past, when do you expect CC to be charged and shipping status to change? Here is the text from Apple.com store order status page:

I have heard you need a credit card to pre-order through Apple.com, I know its about a 85% dumb question cause I'm almost sure you can but even though I have a Bank of America Dedit card that's directly tied to my checking account but I can still use it as a Visa card (I always have the option of either or for purchases) since it has the Visa logo. Can I use this card to place my Pre-Order on Apple.com Tuesday morning?
is the current ios4 that apple released the shipping version or will there be another gm coming by the end of this week. I'm confused because the last one released was a candidate.
I am willing to bet that the orders, which are shipping now, are coming directly from the factory as compared to orders coming from Apple and ATT&t's local stockpile.
So don't fret if your order has not shipped yet as most likely it will ship directly from a warehouse somewhere here in the United States.
This is getting ridiculous. Now Apple basically got rid of all the bumper colors except for black. Black is the only color available for the "free case" program and no bumpers are for sale outside of that program. So I can't buy a different color even if I wanted to pay them $30 for it. They're effectively discontinued for now. I know they'll come back eventually (with the white iPhone) but for now it's "You can have any iPhone you want, as long as it's a black iPhone with a black bumper".
I want to input billing information for my credit card, so I can purchase apps, but the system does not seem to offer countries out of the US. I live in Costa Rica. How do I do I change country?
2 months ago I received a text spam about a horoscope service, which I ignored because it was clearly a scam. Then I found out they were charging me $9.99/month, and I had to spend 30 minutes on the phone with AT&T to get the charges removed. How can spammers charge you when you haven't responded to their text? This is a huge annoyance and waste of my time. I am considering removing the texting function from my iphone.
