I have intermittent sound problems with with iPhone 4 S. When I am receiving a call I hear no ringtone. I also hear no sounds when I am using apps. I do however have sound when I am playing music or using Siri. I haven't had problems with hearing calls or people hearing me during the call duration.
Any suggestions??

I have sent 4 emails to ask the AT&T to accept my request of unlocking my iPhone 4, but all of them are asking me to log in the AT&T account which I don't have. My iPhone is accidentally updated to the newest version and now I could not unlock it to use . I don't have a phone to use

Ok just received a brand new iPhone 4 from fedex opened it synced it and tried to add an image for background and Lock screen. Lock screen WILL not change from the black background with the green battery to ANY image.Has anyone else had this problem? Looks like iOS4 ships with bugs included for free.

The camera on my Iphone 4 has started to take pictures where part of the picture is a big grey rectangle. They look this way both in the iphone photo album and after import to iphoto. When the photo is first taken, the animated shutter opens and first it shows the whole photo for a split second, then it flashes to the grey photo and that photo is animated to the the little thumbnail to the bottom left of the screen. This doesn't happen with every photo, just once in a while and only started happening recently, after an update to iOS 5.1.1.

I had zero issues and it all went through in 1 attempt.It also states on the confirmation that it should arrive around June 24.Now I have decided I no longer want the iPhone4 and will be picking up an EVO tomorrow. I called ATT to cancel the iPhone order and she said it is already processed and possibly en route so she could not cancel it, but that I would just need to refuse shipment or if I receive it, simply ship it back for a full refund.
Do I refuse shipment? Or do I list this mfer on ebay for a premium (800-1000) and when I get the phone just tell ATT to shove it and charge me the $325 cancellation fee? Can I do this? Is there any other penalty in doing this? Like will it affect my credit or anything like that?

What I did:
1) Installed OVI PC suite,
2) Connected phone and starte to upgrade firmware
3) Battery level was low, so I connected the charger and confirmed that it was charging.
4) Started firmware upgrade
During step 3 ("install") of the "update device softeware" process I received a message:
"Nokia OVI Suite has lost connection with your device. Follow these steps to reconnect your device. 1. Remove the USB cable from the device. 2. Re-insert the USB cable. 3. Click 'OK' below to continue"
The problem is that now my phone was off and did not respond at all to the power on switch, the charger being removed and inserted, the USB cable being removed and inserted or the battery being removed and inserted.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm getting very fustrated when wanting to take low light photos using the Flash on the N97. Everytime I use the flash, I get whiteout towards the top left of the picture. I can do nothing about it. I never had this issue with my N82 or N95, which took great indoor/low light photos. This is clearly a fault in it's design, one that should have clearly been rectified during the development and testing of this handset. As there is nothing to deflect the flash away from the camera lense, there is a 2/3mm divider on the N82, & on the N95 the flash is far away enough to not have an impact.

It won't sync the contacts and emails. So I can back up the curve contact list to the apple address book, export it and then import into the iphone.But it doesnt touch the contacts in Entourage. View 1 Replies View RelatedI instructed Map Loader to download Europe (no less) which happens to be a wopping 2.2 Gigabyte. It calculated probably pretty accurately that downloading Europe would cost 1 hours 9 minutes and 48 seconds. A decent figure. Having started the download I absentmindedly and without any evil will disconnected my phone mid-download after 45 min give or take to make a phone call. That made Map Loader scream with discomfort (Waiting for phone!!) and eventual crash, with a fancy .NET debug message displayed. Yes, my dear readers, Map Loader is written with some Visual tool from Redmond where I expected a nice Qt based application. This now meant that all work was for nothing and the next time I selected Europe for download I was surprised to find it hadn't shrunk and was still the 2.2 Gigabyte and would still take 1 hours and 9 minutes and 48 seconds (thanks, Data) to download.
Now, I did not disconnect my ISP, paid all the facility bills so actually there would be no reason why 87% or an odd 1.8Gig wouldn't be around sitting on my PC still so that only that last 13% needed a download and I would go ahead and fix a drink to have the download finished in an agreeable time. It would be nice for my and Nokia's bandwidth and the environment (not to mention Europe) to have Map Loader at least save partial data so that in case of an unfortunate attack on the connection between Map Loader and the hand-set at hand it would be able to continue where it left off.
I was getting drops out on calls with 862 so I decided to back to 714 and as usual I dont back up my data as it always does it automatically during the downgrade or upgrade process.This time, I had my email accounts restored but not the actual emails. My contacts have been lost, but the apps and themes are still there.
So I tried restoring my contacts from a backup that I took on the 27th of August but here is the message I get when I try to do the Restoration was an error restoring.There could have been a problem with the device or connection during the restore. Verify that the dvice is turned on and connected.I tried restarting my computer and doing a battery pull but no luck and it is the same cable and port I always use...

This problem started recently. My bluetooth headset connects, and can trigger the call to be answered, but the iPhone doesn't use it as the audio source. In fact, the button that normally selects the sources, now shows only the speaker icon (and toggles speakerphone).
After updating to 5.1, it seemed to be fixed -- that same button again let me choose the audio source. That was yesterday, but today when I answered a call, it didn't go to the headset, and the source button again shows only the speaker icon.
The iPhone answers the call when I press the button on the headset. It's just not seeing any audio source.
I've powered on & off, not fixing the problem. I can't poinpoint the start of the trouble exactly -- it seemed to simply work one day and not work the next. I honestly don't remember if it coincided with updating to 5.01.
I have audio through the headset or speakerphone with no issue but none through the handset. Did a battery pull but that did not resolve the issue. I also just upgraded to Rogers OS 5.0.0.743 not sure if this is what caused the problem.

Sometimes the audio will work fine (notice this more when I'm on WiFi) but sometimes, in all apps (snapchat, facebook, regular gallery view) the video will play but the audio will cut in and out.
Not sure what it is. Phone is rooted (systemless) and is running the EX Kernel. I didn't mess with the audio settings in the EX Manager...
This is a huge issue for me as I spend a lot of time on Snapchat, Instagram and YouTube (I'm a vlogger, etc.).
I've had two Razr's behave the same, whenever audio plays, especially using the headphone jack and external speakers, one can hear an audiable click or pop just before and after the audio plays. This happens with Pandora, Rhapsody, and Google Navigator. I haven't tested other audio based apps yet.Verizon and Motorola say they've not heard of this issue, so I'm wondering how many other Razr owners have noticed this pop? Hearing such noises as the audio turns on and off is not acceptable quality for a Motorola branded phone.I don't know enough about how the Android OS works, but I'm thinking there are two possible causes. First, as different apps access the audio hardware the internal electronics of the phone produce an audible pop as the circuits power up and down. Alternatively, the Android OS may be probing the headpone jack trying to determine if it's connected to external speakers. I've noticed that the pop gets louder as the phone approaches 100% charge.
With a 90% charge or better I've even had the audio output go quiet if the headset cable is moved, even though the audio application shows audio is playing. I know that removing the headset cable will pause the player, but in this case hitting play starts the player and it shows progress, but no audio is heard.
I've been using my Moto Droid, running Android 2.2.2 for some time now. Up until recently, I've been able to use it to listen to Pandora and mp3s loaded onto the phone. Now, any time I plug a set of headphones into the audio jack, the audio is really distorted. It sounds like a channel is out or something, and this happens across all volume levels. It pretty much sounds like you're listening to music underwater. Doesn't matter if it's streaming adio through Pandora or mp3 audio. When I unplug the headset (any headset, mind you) and go to external speaker, the audio is fine.

Later that day my dad called and the phone wasn't playing my ringtone. Now it will not work at all with any sounds. I have reset all my settings on my phone and turned it on and off multiply times. It doesn't seem to be working. I did try putting my headphones in and turned my music on and it was playing through the headphones but when I took them out it wouldn't play.
