I recently updated to 5.1.1 from 4 something. It made a mess of my apps and folders. I figured I could take my time organizing things in iTunes. But when I organized a bunch of stuff and then disconnected my phone it seems like everything went back to where it was. Do I have to hit apply before I disconnect? Can I not just organize a little at a time and then apply when in done?
View 8 RepliesI'm baffled by the stock photo app and how to organize photos. If I go to my camera roll and "edit" I can select photos to add to an album... but only a "new" album. Why can't I add photos to my existing albums? Apple has made a push recently to be "computer free" that is, not have to use a computer to use your iphone for updates and such. Why can't photos be organized and moved around without using a computer?

I have couple of folders of mixed type of music on my PC and want to transfer them to my iphone and keep content of each folder together.. On PC, I changed the Album name for each file in each folder to Album 1, 2,3, .... (through propterty of the file). But when I transfer them to my Iphone, there are not under one album. there are distributed under Album & Artist, like:
Album 1 artist 1
Album 1 artist 2
Album 1 artist 3

.
.
Album 2 artist 1

I couln't find any way to can see all for example Album 1 files under Album 1. I know that I can make playlist, but I have several albums and many files, so it will be a long and boring job to select songs one by one and put in a playlist. Is there any easier way to have better control of Iphone filing system? Or is there other application that can do this job easier?

Once I have moved a photo from the camera roll to another album I want to delete the image from the main camera roll album. If I try to delete I get a message that this image will be deleted from all albums. I want to just delete from camera roll. Is this possible?

I just got a replacement iphone and restored it from a backup, however, upon trying to sync it again, the 'sync apps' checkbox is not checked. I can see my apps that are greyed out but as soon as I check the box to sync the apps, they all disappear! I haven't synced it since for fear of having to start over every time.

I've read everything I can find on greyed out apps and can't find a solution. I've re-installed itunes 3 times, I have restrictions turned off on my iphone, I've transfered purchased apps from my iphone to iTunes synced my iphone many times. Still with iphone plugged into itunes and apps checked I can't access any of my apps. The top half of the app screen is greyed out. I can access my files sharing apps on bottom half of screen.

I keep running into a super, super frustrating issue that I can't seem to figure out a fix or workaround for - basically iTunes keeps trying to sync ALL of the apps in my library no matter if I've removed it from the phone or unchecked it from within iTunes. When I start a sync, unchecked apps mysteriously become checked and iTunes then tries to copy everything over again.
I currently have around 600 apps in iTunes but only have around 200 on the phone itself, and manually deleting 400 apps every time iTunes freaks out like this is driving me crazy.
I currently back up the phone to iCloud but some times sync to iTunes to backup locally as well, but I'm assuming this isn't the expected behaviour.

I have recently moved to a new MBP. I have synced my iPhone apps (394) to iTunes on the new computer. They show up on iTunes. However, only 200 of them are displayed on the iPhone, despite iTunes saying that I have all 395 apps ready.
Moreover, they appear in random order. Which is really a bad surprise knowing the amount of work put in arranging them.
