IPhone :: One Apple ID, Two 4s, How To Separate Contacts
Mar 27, 2012
My wife and I share an Apple ID, is there a way to separate our contacts... Now, she has all of her contacts and mine, is there a way for her to keep just her contacts and I keep all mine?
i have an iphone 4 and my boyfriend a 3gs, until recently we used seperate computers for sync but one broke so we have only 1 between us. We have sepeate Apple IDs and log in to our own each time we want to sync our phones, but we seem to end up with all the same content, ie apps music ect. We have to tick and untick stuff we want and dont. Also we purchase/download our own content from app store using our own ID's yet they too apper to sync to both devices..
I need to back up and sync multiple iPhones to a single iMac. Each iPhone has a separate Apple ID and the data from each iPhone needs to be backed up separately from the others. How can I do this without getting all of the contacts, etc. mixed?
My wife and I both have iPhones and use the same iTunes account and pc but need to keep our contacts and calendars separate. At the moment we seem to have merged both. How do we keep these information files separate?
I use my iphone5 for business and personal. I want to have 2 completely separate lists for business and personal contacts. I know I can use groups but I want 2 completely separate lists, 2 different buttons on the screen.
I have two iPhone 4 handsets. One is for work and one is my private number. Currently I am using the same Apple ID on both phones, as I want to use the apps I've purchased on both devices and get my contacts from iCloud.
As I usually bring both handsets with me, it is annoying to receive the same iMessage to both phones. Is there anyway to create two separate "iMessage accounts" such that I can use iMessage on both phones, but messages sent to my work phone will only be received on my work phone, and similarly, the iMessages sent to my private phone will only be received on my private phone?
I have gotten my custom mp3 files assigned to different contacts but the default notification sound overrides them so they all sound the same. I know there has to be a way to have each contact have a different tone because it was added as far back as s3 which I also currently still own as well and would like to have my contacts all have different tones so I know who's texting me.
I have been using my phone for 18 months now and have a nice collection of Contacts on the phone. Have been using the Exchange ActiveSync for my work email but with the Sync Contacts option set to No. There are contacts on my Exchange address books that I would like to have on my Nokia N8 but I am concerned it will wipe out my existing personal contacts and/or sync my personal contacts already on the phone to my company Exchange server. If I switch On the Exchange ActiveSync - Sync Contacts option does it keep the Exchange contacts separate from my personal? Is this possible at all?
My new phone does not have a separate "contacts" button - all contacts are stored under "phone - contacts". Despite transferring and saving everything including my old contacts list from the broken iphone, it has downloaded my contacts now in the wrong place and in the wrong order - i.e. by surname and not christian name. How can I change the alphabetical list and how can I get a new button to show "contacts" separately??
Well my iphone is stuck on the apple logo! I can't lose my contacts! Is there any way I can backup what's on my phone? Is there anyway I can get my contacts?
my daughter and I have just got our new iPhones but I can´t create and Apple ID för her so she can´t use the ICloud service. So I tried using the one I created for myself resulting in that all my contacts apeared in her phone. What should we do?
Apple how about letting parents confirm the Apple ID for their kid but it should be created with the kids name and birthday how difficult can it be? am I the first mum who bought and Iphone for my kid?
And by the way how do we get access to all the old contacts stored on the SIM card from our preIPhone time? I thought that everything just work with Apple but I am beginning to think that I should have choosen and Android... I mean changing brand of phone doesn´t exactly mean that you want to cut contact with all your old friends..
Ii did a master clear to wipe out contacts and info on iphone 3g and it said about an hour and it never came back on just an apple appears and it doesnt come up in itunes to restore?
what is the process to separate the two iphones (1. iphone 4) (2.iphone4S). for the contact list and the texting that both phones receive at the same time.
I have two iPhone mine and my sons, we both have iTunes account ID's on the same pc. so how do i keep my iPhone separate from his apps, music, podcasts, when i sync. he has different styles in music and stuff. so when i hook up my iphone and sign ito itunes i see all of his apps he has a lot more than i do. I thought that having a different log in id's meant that if i sign into itunes with my id that itunes would only show the apps and music that i have used or downloaded to itunes. but the last time i did this it had all of the apps and podcasts that my son downloaded even though it was my ID. I like the new integrated mailboxes feature. However, will I be able to set up separate mail icons on the homescreen to jump to the specific e-mail account? For example, I can have a mail icon for my gmail, one for my mobileme, and one for my exchange account all separate on the home screen for a total of three (same mail icon but different subtext per which account it is, for example).Based on what I've seen and read so far I think the answer is no. What I'm anticipating is I will have to open the one mail icon with all my accounts listed, then have to choose which one I go to from there. Not a terribly huge deal, as it is better than the current setup, but separate icons would be a nice feature have.

My wife just got her first iPhone, a 4s; and the "Contacts" app is not on the home page. Our 2 yo granddaugher had it for a few minutes yesterday...could she have accidentally deleted it? If it can be deleted, is there a way to retore it? I have searched the App Store and can't find the app identical to the one on my iphone. I have an older 4s and it has the contacts app from Apple on the home page. Neither of us remember seeing it before on her iphone.
