I'm currently running the 4.1 GM and noticed when I restored my phone as a new phone and had to redo all my MobileMe stuff that Notes was no longer an option for syncing.
It was available in 4.02 if I remember correctly but now it's suddenly gone. Can anyone else confirm this? Or has it been missing for awhile and I just never noticed?
Both my gf and I upgraded to the new iPhone4.I figured I would try the free trial of MobileMe since Ive heard horror stories of friends losing phones and/or contacts.I set up my phone to have a MobileMe account and uploaded my contacts no problem and its even syncing over WiFi.It did double up on a few of my contacts for some reason but other than that it was great.Until I discovered that it was syncing my contacts to my gf new iPhone4 as well. This phone didnt even have the MobileMe account set up or activated on it.I checked the sync screen under INFO and under MobileMe it still says SET UP NOW?I cant seem to figure out why it's doing this or how to stop it.
This is my first iphone, been a Nokia guy for a long time I'm trying to back up my iphone contacts and calendar using mobileme. I see all my contacts but none of my calendar items in the mobileme calendar.
-iphone4 newest iOS -subscribed to mobileme -have windows xp, outlook 2003
I'm not really sure where mobile me falls in the macrumors forums hierarchy so I decided to post my question here as it most retains to the new iphone.
I was looking at the iphone 4 webpage and noted that under the notes feature it states this:
"Use Notes on iPhone to write yourself a quick note and keep important information on hand. Send notes to yourself or others via email and sync them back to your Mac or PC. If you use an IMAP account such as MobileMe, your notes can even sync over the air."
I'm going to be new to iphone but definitely want to sync my notes when I get the phone. Is this a known feature? If so, how do I sync my notes to my computer through mobile me?
I'm hoping someone can help me here. Is there a way to sync my notes from my iPhone 3GS iOS4 to iTunes so when I get my new iPhone 4 I won't lose them. I don't see an option anywhere.
I need your help about a sync problem I have between my iPhone and Mail.app on my Snow Leopard MBP. Everything is up-to-date.On the iPhone I have:
[1] a xxx@gmail.com IMAP eMail address associated to my iTunes account.
[2] a xxx@there.it EXCHANGE eMail address set as default on my iPhone and on my MBP.
[3] a xxx@yahoo.it POP mail address.
[4] other service accounts.
In Mail.app I have all of the accounts I have on the iPhone.I enabled 'Notes syncing' in iTunes but the notes are synced with the third account xxx@yahoo.it. I do not understand the reason why they are not synced with the default or the iTunes mail accounts. Are notes synced only with POP accounts?
I did not find any hint on how I might solve this problem and have the notes synced with an eMail address I choose. Do I need POP accounts to sync notes? If I set up a second POP account, will I be able to select the account to sync the Notes with?
Every time I sync my iPhone and iPad, my new notes are gone and I have the old Notes only. It just started happening lately, I think. I can't figure out how to correct this situation.
I lost important notes while syncing my iPhone on my MacBook Pro. I have synced before, and know that the notes on my phone migrate to the MacBook Pro. If I want them back on the phone, I had to drag them back to the phone. So I synced notes and there was an option as to whether to keep or delete notes that were synced; I am quite sure that I chose, "keep." Now, I am unable to find those valuable notes on either device. Ouch. Can you help? Is there a backup type of place to recover them?
I have an iPhone 4s and have it configured to sync with my Outlook 2011(14.2.0) running on Lion (10.7.3) . I see all the email, calendar, and contact items getting synched up with the latest changes. However the Notes that I have in outlook are not getting synched up. I tried configuring it to sync with Outlook 2010 running on Win 7 and everything works fine. I have reset the phone and tried to synch it back with 2011 and see the same problem with Notes. Don't see any updates on the iPhone.
Info: iPhone 4S, iOS 5.0.1, Outlook 2011 (14.2.0) OS X 10.7.3
I had the same Notes on both my iPad and my iPhone. Some made on the iPad and some made on the iPhone. Now adter syncing in iTunes I seem to have lost all my iPad made notes on my iPhone. I still have both sets of Notes on my iPad.Also I added my MobileMe email address to the list of my email addresses I have in Mail on my iMac. My MobileMe emails were then sent to my iMac including all my notes backup both from my iPad and iPhone. So my Notes are not deleted or lost, just none of my iPad notes are now on my iPhone.Read the support BB's are now VERY confused what to do to restore my iPad Notes on my iPhone. On iPhone, I only seem to have: All Notes / On My iPhone / my MobileMe email address While on my iPad, I have: All Notes / From my Mac / my MobileMe email address My iPhone is 3GS. My iPad is a 2, both running the very latest iOS. Sync almost daily, never had this problem Think it occured when I added MobilMe to Mail on my iMac, but don't know for sure!
I'm trying to get Outlook for Mac 2011 calendar on my MacBook running Snow Leopard to show up on my new iPhone. Connected by USB, through iTunes. iTunes says it is syncing calendar, but nothing shows up on the iPhone calendar.
Info: iPhone 4S, Mac OS X (10.7.4), Outlook for Mac 2011 14.2.2
I have X10 mini which I can successfully sync contacts and calendar entries with my SE account but synching from phone does not pick up any notes I have created. Is this a known issue that requires firmware upgrade? I am currently on 1.6.
I am considering purchasing a BB Tour 9630. I use the Notes field of MS Outlook contacts extensively. Some of my notes per contact are over 10,000 characters in length. My Palm Treo 700p allows me to view/edit these long notes. Can the notes field of the BB contact manager handle this many characters or will it be truncated to a shorter length? I am a small operation not using an Exchange Server. Also, do I need any other device software than what comes with the BB to sync with my PC's local Outlook PST?
Weird problem here, my Notes application cannot find the notes I've written, it's like they were auto-deleted. The first time it happened I thought maybe I exited without pressing done, thinking maybe that saves it. But it's happened to me several times. I write a note, press done, exit out of the program. Open up the program and the note is still there, but after a day or 2 it's just completely gone. I'm not even syncing it or anything. This is on a ip4 with 4.02 and no JB.
I've always love MM especially in the IPhone. However, if Gmail/calendar/services are available via EXCHANGE (true push)(OS 4 have multiple exchange accounts) then MobileMe is losing ground unless APPLE comes up with some new features.
Mail: Gmail > MM given that Gmail is free and EXCHANGE gives it instant push. Calendar: PUSH unless you have Mac then it's easier to setup MM on iCal Contacts: PUSH with EXCHANGE Photo: MM slight edge given it has more space but Pisaso isn't bad Google voice >> mobile me Storage: MM (20GB)+ iDisk >Google but you can get other free DROPBOX etc. Hosting: MM>Google because it can and google doesn't offer this service. Locate your phone/wipe data: MM>Google Cost: Google>>> MobileMe, free wins by a LARGE margin
Anyway, the advantages are dwindling fast and MM cost $69-99 per yrs. Come on APPLE give MobileMe some new firepower or offer it free for Apple users!
I have been over the fence on MobileMe. The main attraction for me is the find lost phone feature but 100 bucks seem a bit much for it. The mail/calendar/storage features are attractive but not sure how much I'd use them. Wanted to get a feel from fellow folks here on how they use MM. Attaching a poll.
I recently (an hour ago) had my iPhone stolen, so I went to MobileMe and tracked it. It said it is about 26 KM away. My question is, how accurate is MobileMe?
I spent the last two hours trying to get rid of these. Is there any way to delete these without deleting everything off my iPhone and starting over? I followed some steps online about disable the MobileMe calendar option, making a calendar in iCal and syncing that. That only gets rid of one of the MobileMe calendars.
I have just upgraded to iPhone 4s, my wife now has my iPhone 3GS and I've passed on her old iPhone 3G to my son. My wife and I use iCloud but as the iPhone 3G won't work with iCloud, how can I locate it if I want to see if my son has got home from school for example?
Info: iPhone 3G, iOS 4.3.3, It's running the highest iOS it can
Has anyone had problems with notes disappearing from the iPhone notes app? how this happens and how to retrieve the lost notes that have not been backed up since the last backup was done
I have all my contacts on my iPhone. How do I get these contacts into MobileMe and Outlook 2007? When I right click the MobileMe application and select Sync Now, it doesn't sync any of my phone contacts to MobileMe or Outlook. How do I do it?
My husband lost his iPhone yesterday. It's still on and rings, however it's no longer in his office, and assumed stolen. Unfortunately, he did not activate "Find my phone" or any other apps of the sort.
I was wondering, since his phone is still logged in to Facebook and Skype, can it be located somehow through them?
Well I am a developer and downloaded the official 4.1 gm from apple and installed. Every thing seemed fine until someone sent me a text and only the phone number showed up and not their name, went to contacts and saw that they did not sync with MobileMe. I tried toggling contacts in settings, did not help, I also tried deleting MobileMe account and resetting it up, nothing seems to work. I checked my MobileMe account and all the contacts are still there, I also checked my iPad and the contacts are still syncing there fine. One other thing is the calendar and book marks don't sync either.
