I can no longer get the keystroke or lock sounds on my iphone 4S. Both are in the "on" setting option on the phone. Some report that they get the sounds weh the earbuds are being used, I get nothing either way. Speakers work for calls and music - just no keystroke or lock sounds.

So a few days ago I dropped my iPhone 4. I'm not 100% sure but I think that is when my sound stopped working. The speakers are working fine, I can hear music and things like that. None of the phone sounds such as clicking when lock/unlocked, keyboard clicks etc are working. When I press the + and - volume buttons the icon does not appear, same as when i mute/unmute it. No sounds, nothing appears. Also, when I receive incoming calls the ringer no longer works.
I have tried cleaning with toothbrush, restarting, restoring, blowing in the phone, etc.

My iPhone 5 (iOS 7.1.2) will no longer ring or "ding" when I receive text (SMS) messages. I verified all my volumes are up,veĀ I tried a soft reset, and I even tried doing a hard reset--once by restoring the phone and another time completely starting it as if it were a new iPhone. I still have the problem. I don't know what else to try.

It is tedious to keep entering the same ID and password when entering a site I often need to access.Those of us old enough to have used DOS based programs could easily create macros that would type out a series of keystrokes by entering a 2 stoke command.(I would assume this could be done in Windows based programs but never learned how.)Can a macro be created on a BB.I have a 9700, if that makes a diff.Just thought of a kludgey way. Enter the keystrokes and store them in the note pad.Go to note pad, do a copy, then a paste.You would have to do this twice.More trouble than its worth.

Dont want to set it it to never in case I forget to lock it then lose it!
Too much confidential info on it to risk leaving it unprotected.

Shortly after I upgraded my iPhone 4 to iOS 5.1, the camera shortcut on my home screen stopped working. The camera icon appears even if I single click the home button, but whether I single click or double click the home button, touching the camera icon simply makes the screen bounce in rejection.
I have removed the passcode on my phone only to get the same effect.

Recently my iPhone 4's lock button collapsed and it is now longer functioning. In reaction to this I visited the Genius Bar and they informed me that it could not be repaired and that I was required, due to my warranty being up, to pay £120 for a replacement. This was as much as I expected at the time. However, shortly afterwards the wifi connection stopped working and my iPhone can no longer sustain connection outwith 2m from the router.
I then phoned my insurance company with this problem, and they informed me that I willbe unable to claim for a replacement as it is a manufacturing defect and not damage. Despite my warranty being up, is there any grounds for argument that such a hardware defect, outside of my control, is reason to claim for a free or reduced price replacement from Apple? I am unsure where I stand. I have had this phone since May 2011 and it seems ridiculous that a phone that comes with a 2 month contract cannot last, without accident, for the same duration.
The audible notifications and the lock key on my 8900 have quit working. I have resorted to password lock and vibration notifications.

If I say OK Google I get the beep I ask a question ex, "What is the current temperature" it beeps again but will not answer until I unlock the screen. I has worked great previously but for some reason it no longer will give me an answer until I unlock the screen.

I cannot even use it to turn the phone off. but if the phone is off i can use it to turn the phone on so i dont see this as being a hardware issue at all. -Email notifications no longer show up on my lock screen or the email tile. They used to, now they don't. All the setting are unchanged.
-I get notifications that my phone is running out of storage space. I'm using 6GB out of 32, AND I have a 32GB card installed.
-Battery drains like someone shot a hole in it. Even plugged in to the USB port on my computer, it's slowly dying. This, of course, makes the back hot to the touch.
-I can't attach pictures to text messages anymore.
I'm not enrolled in any preview program, I didn't install anything strange, I didn't receive any notification updates, just business as usual until things went bad.
If your answer is going to be "hard reset" or something
My HTC One has recently updated to Android 4.3 + sense 5.5 and I find I can no longer use different wallpapers for my lock screen and home screen as I could previously. The facility apparently no longer exists. Yes, I know I can use a third party app like widget locker but why should I when the facility already existed. What is it these days that developers remove useful functions just because they see fit. Is this really progress? I lost my phone some weeks ago and because I had put my contact details on the lock screen + I.C.E details with a self-made wallpaper, my phone was returned to me within 3 hours of the loss.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI downloaded ringtones from crackberry a couple hours ago and now my ringers won't work and when I try to play ringtones in the media application it won't let me play them. I tried going through the profiles to make sure they weren't muted or off and nothing is working. I had the exact same problem less than 24 hours ago and the cell phone place just gave me a new phone because they couldn't figure it out either. If I could get some kind of direction as to what I need to do I would appreciate it greatly.

I installed LockInfo a while ago. I got everything working fine, downloaded it and plugins fine. I got them all from the same repo as I was advised to do that, and everything seemed to be working fine. Everything was up to date etc.
I received an SMS, and instead of it appearing under the SMS on LockInfo, which it does, it appears as well by the annoying Apple notification box.
I still want my phone to light up when I received a text message and the text message to be displayed under the SMS tab in LockInfo, but how do I get rid of the Apple notification box? I saw when configuring the app there was some thing about quick replying to texts and there was a list to choose form. Would any of those get rid of the Apple alert?
So I have been searching & have even spent money on trying to find a dot lock for the apple iphone 4s and dont seem to find it , does apple have it ? why or why not ?

I have an iPhone 3G that had a defective dock connector port. I replaced the whole assembly (including mic+antenna) and now I have no sound (ringers, keyboard, etc) on my device. I checked the switch (orange dot) and I've performed a soft reset and a complete restore, with no luck.
If I plug in headphones, I hear everything fine through the headphones themselves. Unplugged, back to no sound.
Ideas and suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Also, if there might be another part that can use replacement, please let me know.
My iphone will no longer make sounds when receiving a call,text,emai, ect. This happened after I had it paired with a Blue Ant 4S. The features continue to work fine, just no sounds. Silent mode vibrate still works.

I have an iphone 4s and the sounds have stopped working, or at least part of the sound has stopped working. I can still get a ringtone, voice mail on speaker and voice memos I can still hear. But notifications like email, messages and notifications of other apps are only working on vibrate. Occasionally, part of a tone for a message will sound. It did this several weeks ago and then all of a sudden it started working again. I'm not getting any sounds on games. I have checked all the settings several times, done hard resets, turned it off and on many times. I've done everything I can think of aside from reformatting (or whatever it's called for iphones). Has anybody had this issue? I've turned the sound switch on an off many times. When I press the volume controls, the image of the sound bell does not appear. Can't listen to music, headphone jack doesn't work either.

View 14 Replies View RelatedSince yesterday my iPhone stopped making sounds from alerts and clicks from the keyboard but I know the speakers work because when I go to Settings-Sounds and I move the volume bar it rings. I'm already sure that the Lock sounds, Keyboard clicks and alerts are ON, but still doesn't work. Also, when I try to turn up the volume with the volume buttons on the iPhone it doesn't work. It shows the ringer icon but with no volume bars. I already cleaned all the dust in the dock connector and in the headset jack. Also tried plug and unplug the headphones, still not working.
I didn't drop the iPhone, neither spilled anything on it. It just suddenly stop working correctly.
I already restored the iOS 5.1 software but didn't work. It only works with the headset.
