IPhone :: Needed To Update IOS Version Without Losing Content?
Apr 4, 2012
One of our users has an iPhone 4 with iOS 4.3.5. Their PC at home which they use to synchronise music, photos, etc is broken and they need to upgrade to iOS 5.1, which I could do here in the office, but iTunes says "all content" would be lost. How can I update their iPhone to iOS 5.1 without losing any content?
My iPhone stopped charging right after it said I needed to update to the 5.1.1 software. Anyone else having these problems. I had my phone plugged into the charger it was on like 20 % it charged up untill it said I needed to update my software to 5.1.1 and never charged from then on. I tried different chargers and even brought it into apple. They were no help.
I have Iphone 4 currently 4.3.3 version and am having issues updating to current version 5.0.1. Phone is plugged in, computer asks if i want to update, I click yes, computer downloads the new software (25-35 min) but when it starts to transfer to phone an error message pops up saying that the network has timed out. This has happened on two different computers.
Today I was trying to update my iphone 3GS from version 4.3 to version 5.1. The problem is that after updating the new version my iphone could no longer be activated.
my problem is I cant update my MAC OS X version 10.6.8 to version 10.7.3 and whenever I check for software update , it doesn't show any update further than 10.6.8 ! I'm trying to download app and it required version 10.7 , what should I do ?
We have installed PC Companion, but it asks for a "PC Companion update needed" and when we hit the "update now" button we get an error and then we hit ok and it shuts down PC Companion. Did an uninstall, and installed again, still the same. Is this software necessary to have? Finding this phone is not so user friendly.
I bought laptop, downloaded itunes and have recently synced my phone to it. Now my music is on there but no pictures which is fine. But every time I plug my phone in it tells me that there is an update available for 5.1.1. I click update then it sends me a warning message saying updating the iOs 5.1.1. will delete the apps, media, and including the itunes purchases. To preserve the content update it to the computer where i sync music, apps, photos, and videos. Where and how do I do that and if I've already sync my phone, i think, is it safe to continue the update without losing all my music and pictures on my phone?
Some one please help it's been so long since I've done this
I used to have an iPhone 3GS and upgraded to an iPhone 4S a few months ago. I haven't synced my iPhone in months, and when I connected to the iTunes today, it prompted to upgrade to a newer iOS version. Upon completion of the upgrade/sync, it prompted to name the new iPhone as the old iPhone name. Without thinking twice, I cliced okay. Then I noticed all the photos, videos, new contacts, text messages, calendar, etc. were all gone! The last backup on my old iPhone was October 2011, apparently, I lost all data from October 2011 to now!
Is there any way I can recover the photos, videos, contacts, calendar, etc. on the new iPhone after it's been synced with the last sync dated October 2011?
I am getting the same error message"You are not allowed to create or update this content I now have an Apple iPhone 4 New. My current phone is Widows 8 phone from Straight talk since that is my service.
I have a data cable for my Windows phone that I use often to sync data from the phone to my computer or the inverse.
I just purchased a data cable die my iPhone. I wonder can I plug both usb cables into my PC. Then transfer or drag my data (Music, Photos, Videos, etc) from the Windows Phone to the iPhone folders?
So if i update my iphone, I will lose all of my photos, apps and music..correct? None of these things are saved on my computer [except some of the music]...
Since updating my Iphone 4S to 5.1.1. I lose about 2% of battery every 5 minutes. Before I updated I could go the whole day without a charge. Now I must leave it plugged in at my desk all day. I double click the home button and close out apps when I'm done, so I have nothing running in the background.
My wife's iphone was tied to a laptop iTunes library. The laptop's hard drive died some time ago, and she has since refused to update the iOS version or sync the phone with another computer, for fear of losing access to the considerable amount of non-iTunes MP3s that were formerly on her laptop, and are now only stored on her iPhone.
So my question is twofold:
1) Can I update the iOS for her without syncing the itunes library on the phone? She is currently running iOS 3.1.3 (7E18). If I can update it, how do I do so safely?
2) Is there any way to set up a new iTunes library on her new laptop without destroying the music library she already has on the phone?
My goal would be to simply get the iOS version and iTunes database up to the latest version, so we can subscribe her to the iCloud service and back up all her music.
Each time I update the software on my iphone it stops sending text / imessages. Is there a way to ensure that this most basic of functions works whether the software updates or is the answer trawling through a bunch of 'troubleshooting' pages? the primary purposes of my phone are voice calls and text messages, it baffles me how this piece of equipment will regularly stop doing these things, seemingly at random. Any way not including reference to the troubleshooting pages, even if it's 'stop updating'.
I tried updating my iPhone 4s to the latest version 5.1 but it comes up with Error 3149.I currently have the 5.0.1 version. I have updated my itunes & windows software on my computer but the error is still showing up after it tries accessing the itunes store? I have followed the steps that would be required for this version to update but it still doesnt work.
I have an iphone 3G but the version is 4.2.1 and i can update it to 5.0.1 but it doesnt do it automatically on my itunes, so i wondered how i do it, because my phone is sooooo slow!
I have a 3GS firmware version 3.1 (7C144) that I want to update to firmware version 3.1.2. Is this possible? I don't want to update to 3.1.3 because I want to be able to keep my unlock. The only reason I would like to update is because there are a few apps that require 3.1.2 to work. Should I just leave it and say forget it for now? Or is it possible to update just to 3.1.2?
i just got my iphone and i want to get apps but they all day i need version 4.0? I went to itunes and to updates and it said I have the newest version?
