I have an iphone 3G but the version is 4.2.1 and i can update it to 5.0.1 but it doesnt do it automatically on my itunes, so i wondered how i do it, because my phone is sooooo slow!

I have Iphone 4 currently 4.3.3 version and am having issues updating to current version 5.0.1. Phone is plugged in, computer asks if i want to update, I click yes, computer downloads the new software (25-35 min) but when it starts to transfer to phone an error message pops up saying that the network has timed out. This has happened on two different computers.

I have a 3GS firmware version 3.1 (7C144) that I want to update to firmware version 3.1.2. Is this possible? I don't want to update to 3.1.3 because I want to be able to keep my unlock. The iPhone permanently shows the connect to iTunes logo but does nothing when I do connect it. I'm using a Windows PC as the platform. I wanted to intsall Mail For Exchange, and the Nokia E72 NAM doesnt seem to have it when I bought it (unless you can direct me to it). I decided to follow the instructions to install it, but it requires me to update the ovi store. I dont know if this will update the firmware as well, but i heard that the newest firmware (v031.032 i believe) is very buggy, so i want to avoid this until another firmware comes out.Can someone help? if its already on the phone, i just need to know where it is. If its not on the phone, will updating the ovistore affect anything in terms of new firmware or other sorts? The reason i want to install this is to utilize the google calendar so i dont have to keep plugging the e72 into the computer (and possibly damaging the plastic usb cover).
