I am running an iphone 3g 3.1.3 on tmobile with no data plan. Is there a way to disable all edge and 3g connections? Ive tried iphonenodata.com but looking under settings> useage, i already have several KB of data used?Is there a better way of disabling any data?

The menu used to be almost instantaneous, but now it lags like a... snail.Also I used to text lightly for about 3 days on a single charge, but now my battery only lasts for about 10 hours or so just being on, no calling or texting.I've owned it for about 3 months, so I don't think the battery would go bad this quickly.Is there a way to disable the 3G or EDGE connections that may be draining battery?btw, it is a Verizon phone running on Page Plus

So I want to force the phone to GSM and be able to get my email pushed whenever I'm connected to WIFI. I've search everywhere but it seems that there is no way to do it. I tryed to disable data but it disable email via WIFI (but you can surf with the browser). tryed to turn off mobile network, I receive my email via WIFI but no one can call me then.I want to use BB email service and don't want to install any other email software.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have an unlocked TELUS Storm playing GSM on a Philippines carrier called Smart. The data connection and call reception quality here has been nothing but horrible. Dropped calls/Calls failed, etc are pretty rampant around here (no matter what part of town you're in)
Anyway, I'd _like_ to think it may be something to do with the fact that the device is not Smart authorized/sold device. However, the backward nature of cellphone networks here could argue me down.
Long story short, now that you know my troubles.. when I'm on a full GPRS/EDGE connection, I pull up the browser. Once I start getting ready to type in a URL, the GPRS/EDGE goes to gprs/edge. It happens about 98% of the time. This same thing happens when I go to URL from an email/sms etc. I can't seem to figure it out. I've been on .328, but upgrading to .419 as we speak. Thoughts would be nice.

View 14 Replies View RelatedI have 100% 3G signal covering in my area. But my new Iphone 4S everytime tries to switch it to Edge. When I re-slide 3G toggle in setting it helps for 3 to 10 to turn back 3G signal. My previous Android phone didn't have this issue.

I have an iPhone 4S on AT&T. I upgraded it so I have 4G (although it's technically still 3G). Sometimes when there's not a lot of signal the Internet just drops to EDGE and no matter how many times I restart the phone it's still on EDGE. How do I fix this so it's always 4G?

I got a new iphone 4s, the first thing I did was jailbreaking and installing my favorite expensive apps as usual. After about a week i had already downloaded about 25,000 dollars worth of apps (I have a 64 gbs iPhone 4s, which was a beautiful gift) Then it suddenly crashed and it wouldn't do anything. I removed the jailbreak by restoring and took it to an apple store and told them what just happened (without the jailbreak part) and they fixed it. But now my phone wont get 3g and will stick on edge.

I have a I phone 4s, recently upgraded from a 4. The I phone 4 would always switch to edge in my living room when the 3g signal was low however my 4s just seems to stay at 1 bar and say "searching" when 3g signal has gone whearas my 4 would go straight to edge. I have only ever seen my 4s switch to edge once and when it does I get 4 bars! at home its ok as I can switch the wifi on however when I am at work etc and take the phone out of my pocket its almost always "searching"? just wondering if this is common for a 4s not to use edge or is there something wrong with my phone?

I get 3G in my area but I have been doing some research and as a result always keep edge on? That it's good for phone usage and text type applications like gmail chat and email? That if you are wanting to surf the Internet 3g and wifi is faster?
Basically the research that I have found is to keep edge on at all times and use 3g or wifi if you want faster results. Also keeping iPhone on edge network uses less battery?

View 1 Replies View RelatedThat's right folks. I don't get a 3G service and the phone tends to start "Searching" for a couple of seconds until it becomes "No Service". When I disable the 3G service, it then works fine on Edge (full bar).
Anyone out there who has encounted a similar problem as such and have found a way to fix this? I would really appreciate if you could post your experiences below.I also wonder if Apple is going to help fix this problem once and for all in thier next filmware update.

My US-based 4S is with me in Stockholm, Sweden, and only connects to the Edge network and wifi, not 3G. My wife's Stockholm-based 4S connects to 3G.

"Cellular" has only 2 options ie "Cellular data" and "Enable LTE". Â
