Iphodroid was released a couple days ago. The progam installs the android os onto an original iphone or 3g and allows for a dual boot of android and ios. Has anyone here tried it yet? I want to try it but I have yet to see anyone talk about a succesful install. The iphodroid forums have recently been redone so not much useful discussion is there. Any one out there got any details?

The latest track was released yesterday and it says I purchased it in the store but it hasn't downloaded. It hasn't done this before when the artist has released a track and I didn't get the email that usually comes that lets me know it is downloading.

And when I say trouble, I mean they will not open. I have not been able to log into Twitter since the day GB was released. There is the encryption key. This is not anything groundbreaking for the average user at this very second, but what it does mean to the average user, eventually, is that after Sony Ericsson stops releasing full version updates for our device (which is VERY likely to happen after the GB update scheduled for next month) The great people over at XDA developers will be able to provide us with full version updates that do not lack any features like they have to date. For example, when the 2.1 update was released, the devs at XDA got their hands on the code and released 2.2 for x10. However, the camera driver needed to be re-written for it to run at all...and even then it was not HD until recently because of a bootloader workaround. Now that the bootloader is wide opened we will see more updates, native wifi tethering, and if the hardware can handle it, we will see updates to full 4-point multitouch and 16million color displays.This also means we will be able to get full MIUI and CyanogenMOD support, and if you are really daring, you may even be able to make your x10 run WP7.Good things will come from this....development is still in the infant stages as this was just reported yesterday.
I have the desktop software installed ok, but do not see an option to configure with Windows live in the Syncronization configuration.

In the past few years the iPhone has gained some ground on that aspect, as a lot more businesses have started supporting in-house use of the device. Android on the other hand, as flexible, versatile and capable as it may be, has it's share of challenges for a business that cannot be overlooked. Such as fragmentation, the extremely wide variety of devices and their features, etc. For those reasons, I don't see Android being widely adopted in the business market in the next few years.
However with the announcement of Windows Phone 8, and the new business friendly features that are coming,R() I think we could see a turnaround as business slowly, perhaps VERY slowly, start to adopt Windows Phone as their trusted OS for the enterprise. This could be Windows Phone's saving grace, as it has been for RIM for a very long time. Although, if and when Microsoft grabs a good chunk of business smartphone marketshare, hopefully it will also give them a boost of interest for the consumer part of the equation. Because with these new features, Windows Phone is just as good a business device than a consumer device.
Also, don't forget about how many different Microsoft products are used in the vast majority of enterprises : Windows for Desktops, Windows Server, Office, Sharepoint, Exchange, etc. are all products that are ...EXTREMELY present in the industry. This translates into Microsoft begin known as a very "trusted" company, and any product coming from them is assumed to have a certain level of quality and business-friendliness to it.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI just got the new iPhone. I'm still using Tiger 10.4.11 on my MacBook Pro.I plugged my new phone in to the computer and it said that the phone isn't compatible with my version of OSX. I didn't think this would be a problem since my iPhone 3G works just fine with it.
I know I can buy a new version of OSX, but after spending £450 on the phone, I'm not really in a position to afford the £132 it's going to cost me to upgrade (Apple website says I need to go for the Mac Box Set, and not just Snow Leopard) at the moment.
This isn't my main question, but if I was to ask someone who already has the Mac Box Set for a copy of the disk, would it install on my Mac, or do I have to buy it myself? Sorry if that's a silly question.If I was to set up my new phone on the PC I have here, I wouldn't be able to then plug it back into my Mac, would I? All my music and contact info etc is stored on my Mac so it'll be a major hassle to have to start all over again on the PC.And also, say if I did start using this on the PC, when I do eventually get Snow Leopard, do I have to start all over again if I want to go back to using the phone with my Mac?
