This is a change in IOS4 i believe. I can't sync more than a week of emails. I don't like that. Guess I will be doing alot of server searching. Hopefully I can read and or forward the emails I search for, I was unable to do that previously. I'll try it and report back.
View 8 RepliesI am using a 3GS with iOS 4. I've set up both my gmail and my exchange mail. My Exchange mail is not pushing. I went through it with customer support for my hosted exchange (and I did install the profile fix that Apple sent out) and nothing is fixing this.
View 10 Replies View RelatedSince I've upgraded to iOS4, I've noticed that emails don't seem to be sending the way they used to. If I compose an email outside of the Mail app (for example, sending a link to a web page from Safari) the email never sends unless I manually go into the Mail app's outbox folder, open the message again and then hit send from there.Is anyone else experiencing this? Is this really the way sending mail supposed to work now?(I should note that I'm using Google's Gmail Exchange Sync system here, but I don't think that's the problem. I can send email from within the Mail app very quickly as long as I wait for the sending sound to play before exiting or switching apps.)UPDATE: same issue using an IMAP account/and sending via SMTP.

Would I be better off doing a backup of my iOS4, restoring my iPhone to iPhone OS 3 and then going back to the official iOS4 or do you think we will be able to straight from the GM to the official version of iOS 4. I am using Windows Live Mail and Comcast as my email provider. I can send and receive but the IPhone and computer do not sync deleted and sent emails... My phone works fine for my other email address which is an Exchange server...When I delete an email from my phone in Exchange server ( other email address) I can watch it being removed from my computer. Comcast is a POP3....

I have with Mail syncing. I searched this forum and looked through dozens of topics, but none seemed to quite fit my circumstances.What I do is, if I get an email on my iPhone while I'm away from home and my wireless network, I read and answer it with the iPhone. Then when I get home, I open Mail on my laptop and it "gets" the same email, marked as unread with no record of a reply. Perfectly natural.Then I plug in my iPhone and it syncs - I do specifically see the "Syncing Mail accounts" portion on iTunes - but the emails on my laptop remain unread and the reply email does not appear in the sent mail folder. That hardly seems synced to me, and I'm not sure what's causing the problem.

I got a reply from a guy who had the same Proximity Sensor issue I have an he said his first iPhone was week 22 and his replaced iPhone was week 26. How do you know based on the serial number if a replacement iPhone4 is newer or older based on reading the model number? My current iPhone4 serial number starts with 8602.... how old is this one and how will I know if my replacement I am going to pick up today will be a newer model?

I have a iphone 4s and my Yahoo emails are automatically being deleted! I have researched and seen other people having this issue after the update but I do not have the option to "Look down for Mail Days to Sync" and to then choose no limit from the settings, mail/contacts/calendars, yahoo account...

I phoned apple care, told them I had the antenna issue. He said he has to transfer me to his supervisor if it's about that. When the supervisor answered he asked me in detail how it happens. He got me to do it while I was on the phone with him. He said the reason for this is that he has to forward all the details to the engineering department.
He then said that even though it's a hardware issue, the engineering department are working on a software fix for next week.He said in the mean time he will send me a free bumper. However, he then said I might get the software fix before I receive the bumper, Monday prehaps?Apple are on top of this, even though jobs thinks its not an issue- it's clearly become one.
We have a bunch of E72 syncing against Exchange 2003.Even if we set the sync to "sync always" it takes about 10-15 min for an email to appear in the phone. Is that what we can expect?I am used to BlackBerry where the emails appear faster than in Outlook.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have my gmail account set up ages ago and was able to delete an email and it would ask me whether I wanted to delete it from the mailbox and handheld or handheld only etc .Recently , that option disappeared , the only option would be "delete" and "cancel" . My other email account is still running fine . I tried deleting and adding the email account again , sent service books , battery pulls , nothing is working . I made sure that the circle is shaded in when it says "sync deleted items."

I have a new 9700 and have had a nightmare trying to get my work outlook to sync with the phone. Even if I use the manual sync via USB cable I still cannot see my emails. I can however see Calender events. I cant set up a Blackberry Account. Then accessing the BlackBerry Internet Service web site screen because my network is not shown and after choosing all of the networks shown and entering IMEI and PIN details I get a failure screen.
